Morning all,

A Good Sunday Morning to you all. Thought I would stop by for a few minutes before I get ready to head for church in a bit. Going to be a beautiful day here again. Sunny and in the upper 30's. Now I know that doesn't sound warm to some of you, but this time of year the sun is warm and like Judy said yesterday, she took her coat off walking around in mid 40's. And yesterday afternoon, I actually hauled out a hose, a bucket full of car wash stuff and gave my truck a really good bath, cleaned the windows inside and all that stuff. I guess I wasn't the only one either. I'm fortunate in that my drive is down to the blacktop. With all this thawing and refreezing that's been going on around here, there is ice everywhere. It's very hard to walk and sometimes even drive on some of the side roads. Some driveways are skating rinks. There is nothing much that can be dne except wait for the seasonal meltdown. But there is more winter to come yet. And yes, Judy, there is some very cold weather coming later this week, so those poor buds and flowers are going to get nipped I'm afraid.

So did you find anything interesting in the Motorhomes yesterday while you were out looking, Judy?

Barbe, you sound like you need a change. Maybe you should consider trying out FL for a little while. I know you said you don't like it there, but the nortern part isn't too bad. It gets cooler there in winter I know, but maybe it might suit your fancy. There's always GA or even the Carolinas too. I'm just looking at the expense end. CA will always be there and you can go back someday when you are a bit financially more stable. If you have bookkeeping experience, you might evev be able to find some workamping jobs doing that or perhaps a full time job, at least for the time being. Sometimes we have to put our dreams aside for awhile in order to achieve them.
Just like me, I had originally planned to retire this year, but with the economy, I decided to wait two more years so i don't wind up having to work to get additional income to supplement what I would get on my SS. And now that I have taken a position at a different State Park here in MI, I am going to have to make some adjustments here again. Maybe even put my RVing on the back burner for a couple of years. You have to follow your heart. That "gut" instinct feeling so to speak.

And I made it official yesterday, in that I mailed a letter to the Supervisor of Otsego Lake State Park and told him that I will not be returning this year. Thought it was only fair to give him an advance warning. None of us have to do that, cause we are not actually employed by the State right now and he did send out Employment applications for those who want to come back, with a letter saying that if he didn't hear from anybody, he would assume they aren't coming back. But I am not the type to just not acknnowledge like that. I never know. I might need to go back someday.

Well, the clock says it's timw to start getting ready for church. Have a wonderful day all. Make sure you take time to stop and smell the roses.

Good Morning Sue and everyone else... I am waiting for the water to heat then I will shower... That is one thing I miss this year is church... it is too far for those in McIntosh to come get me... I do listen and watch my pastor from back home on the computer but miss the contact with others...
I left my phone by my bed yesterday and when I got it I had three messages... my daughter Margie wanted me to download skype... I did and we had a video chat how nice that was... and I got to see Pete, Shaelyn, Scot and Augie the dog... that will be fun to do when we talk now...
I sat outside with Irmi and Steve yesterday afternoon... it is always nice to visit with them...
Not much happening here today...

Morning, Sue and all the gals that show up at the table.

Sorry, all I have to offer right now is a cold cup of Joe. Left over from last night. I'm trying to be quiet as my GD is still sleeping on the sofa with Choco curled up under the covers next to her.

Yesterday I attended said GD's 11 AM basketball game 40 miles up the interstate. They lost 6-8, but played better than last time when the only score they got was my GDs basket and after the other team reaches 25 they quit scoring. I'm sure they were close to 40, tho.

Anyway, my Dd made us lunch. She made a roast in the crockpot that she pulled apart and added BBQ sause to. Yum! We also had cole slaw, broccoli slaw and chips. I passed on the chips as I love sandwishes and slaws. We then played some card games while my DD baked cookies inwhich the girils used to make ice cream cookie sandwishes. I just ate a cookie, trying to be good...

At 4:30 we left for the 5PM church service. It was nice to attend with my DD and the service was so fullfilling. She attends a very nice church. Afterward I brought my youngest GD home with me as she had asked earlier in the week to spend the night with me. So here we are.

At 10 I have an appt with my tax lady to finalize my taxes. Uncle Sam sure took a bite out of me this year. After that I need to go to the mall. Mostly because there is a guy that has a tent in the parking lot and he fixes windshield pings. Got a good one a week ago. I talked with him last week and he said it takes 45 mins so we can be in the mall while that's happening.

Beautiful weather here. Actually saw a robin on my lawn yesterday! Mother Nature is so out of whack, it seems. I am going to have to mow my back yard soon, too, but in February?? Way too soon!

Speaking of change. Seems there is allot happening here with the forum sisters, too. Gosh, I never know what surprises will await me. Ladies joining (very good thing), ladies getting new/newer rigs (another very good thing), some selling they stick and brick homes to stretch their traveling wings and others just trying to adjust to the economy. I appreciate the support and compassion shown here, but mostly the grit and gumption. Onward and upward, gals!!

coffee is carmel truffle, yum yum, made in my own little kitchen area of my room. Son got a new coffee
maker so I snagged my big one back before it got broke to put in my room. I can't operate his big fancy
dancy coffee maker anyway and now I won't have to trapse through the living room in my pajamas for
a cup of coffee.
Stuff on the agenda for today....go to store for kitty litter and laundry soap, get more laundry done
and clean some nooks and crannies in my room that have been neglected. Life is good.

Good morning, ladies.

My agenda today is to finish my paper that is due tonight for my class. I'm working on a Masters in Accounting so that I will have a second career that I can carry into retirement. My undergrad degree is in Chemistry and that's just not portable or in high demand. I figure I can get experience working with my current company or find something until I'm ready to retire. Then if I want to earn money workamping or not, I can hopefully find some work.

This evening I will probably watch the Super Bowl - I like to watch the commercials.

Back to work tomorrow. But Friday I may go to the local RV show to look around. The Land Dinghy is fine for now but I know that I want to eventually upgrade at least a little on size. I like to look and see what's out there.

It's gray and cool here today. At least it's not raining. YET! The weather channel shows a big area of rain between here and Texas. I usually cook on Sunday but my DH wanted chili. Since I use a chili mix from a jar I don't consider that cooking. Works for me.

I have a degree in Accounting and did that for many years. Now I absolutely hate having to do my taxes. Since we have a farm we never get money back so no incentive to do it. The last company I worked for the invoicing was under the sales department not the accounting department. The company was bought out and the accounting was moved to the corporate office so I ended up doing the invoicing when the woman that was doing it retired. She never checked to see that invoices were correct, she just billed whatever came up on the computer. She would have hundreds of invoices that had to be credited and re-invoiced. When I saw what was going on I started correcting them before they were printed. My supervisor was amazed that we went from hundreds to very few that had to be re-invoiced.

I wanted to go to Walmart but don't want to go in the rain. Guess I will try to get there and back before the rain gets here.

Another beautiful day in southern Michigan--might trick you into thinking it is spring, but that is what it does here. It is sunny and when I went out at 11:00 am, it was 44 degrees already--a virtual heat wave here. Supposed to be 47 tomorrow, with temps in 30s and 40s rest of next week. (Normally it would be more like 15 degrees this time of year.)

However, I have noticed that with the freezing and thawing, it is definitely chuckhole season. For those of you in warmer climates, when pavement thaws and then freezes, chunks of concrete or asphalt pop out, and you end up with holes that can be 6-12" deep. This is really hazardous to your tires and suspension system, so you will see the driver ahead of you swerve--an indicator to look out and swerve around these holes yourself so you don't get damage. They will go around and put temporary fill in them, but with the next thaw and freeze the "cold patch" pops out again. It won't be until permanently warm weather that these will get a more solid patch. Until next winter/spring, that is.

No, Sue, I didn't really get a chance to look at more than that one Class A yesterday and take a test drive at the dealer in Chelsea. The more I think about it, the less I like the salesman's pushy tactics to get me to sign right then and there. (He tried all the tricks.) I did stop at a place in Belleville, but they just didn't have anything other than behemoths.

Agenda today is to finish grading some things (an endless task) and get more stuff hauled out of my basement, do some vacuuming also down there. Then back to work tomorrow at my regular job for a very busy week. Which reminds me, an excellent TV program on ultimate factories on the Dearborn Truck Plant. It is the plant you visit on the "Rouge Factory Tours" Ford offers, and very interesting if you have never been in a modern assembly plant. I don't work there, but I did develop some training for its team leaders. Factories are fascinating places these days with amazing technology.

Did some laundry and dusting so far today, also. Made a big pot of spaghetti sauce, so I need to package that up for lunches and freeze some of the sauce.
