Last Monday of January

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Monday of January

Good Morning,

How's everybody this morning? Have a good weekend? Time to start another week and head into February in the process.

Well, obviously I am up and at em around here. Gym class this morning followed by quick stop at Hobby Lobby. Need some letters for my scrapbook page. One uses so many vowels that it's almost a waste of the page of letters, but the extra's do come in handy once in awhile. Also ran out of leaves to decorate the pages as I am working on a fall trip. The last one of 2011.

Wow Wendy, that's a lot of people turning out to help with the tornado cleanup. Aren't people great.

Martha, you be careful working on cleaning out that house. It's not worth getting one's body out of whack doing that.

Lenora, I love the look of the Winnebago you posted, Now, if I could just win the lotto. Course if I don't play, I ain't gonna win

Whoops short break here. Sassy just notified me she has an "emergency" and needs to go out NOW! So we dashed for the door. Then she moseyed around for a few minutes before heading off the deck to find her spot

Looks like a bit of spring coming back into our weather picture this week. After some snow or mix today and possibly some freezing drizzle overnight into tomorrow morning. Hope not as Tessa has an appt. with her "doggie doctore" to see why she is choking/coughing or whatever it is.

Well, the breakfast dishes are calling. Just had some Egg Beaters (scrambled) with sausage for breakfast followed by a glass of OJ. I have cereal, toast, bacon, OJ, breakfast bars etc. here, if anybody wants to stop by. Sorry, ran out of eggs though.

Hope you all have a great day. Keep rollling, keep dreaming......

I have only one goal today.... to ride my bicycle 24 miles.. to the doctor's office and back. The challenge is the weather. There will be close to a twenty degree difference between when I start and when I return. I will enjoy the ride home more than the ride there.

If I survive, I need to return to the doctor's office on Wednesday and hopefully, will again do it by bicycle. I am trying so hard to be auto free whenever possible. The exercise, the money saved on gas, wear/tear of vehicle, etc.. all so beneficial. I do it mainly for the exercise though. The fuel cost benefits, even though obvious, didn't really come to mind until one day I had to think how many weeks or months it had been since I filled my van up.

Course, I am blessed living in an area where this is possible, weather wise at least. Today's route is not the most bike friendly but can be done. I just need to be extra careful. I wear bright colors and my bicycle has bright flags. I look like a total dork but everyone sees me.

This morning started in the thirties.. its now in the forties. I'm hoping for the fifties before I leave the house.

Everyone have a great day!

Wow, Alice, its Monday morning and Look what ambition you have !!!!! You go girl !!!. After reading what you've planned for the day, makes me think I should get my butt to moving :D Like your thoughts on conserving too. UUUUmmmmmm thinking here.

Good morning, everyone. Plans for the day here are not as strenouous as Alice's are. But have to get things ready to move on. My ear, I hope is well on its way to healing, one reason I have stayed here so long at my sisters, already filled out all the paperwork required here at this dr. such a pain, didn't want to have to do it all over for another dr. visit. That and the fact, I love playing Yahtzee most evenings, boy, did I have a good night last night :D Usually low man, but winner for the night last night. Enjoying that fact, as it was a fluke , LOL>

Soos, Dianah is a Beautiful dog. Hope she and Molly will be great buddies. Wish I had done something like that for Maggie way back when she was younger, she was so lonesome at times.

Hope you all have a great day, and accomplish what is on your agenda for the day. Whatever your plans, push some fun in there and enjoy your day to the fullest. Most of all, Hope all are well on this last Monday of Jan. and throughout the week. (just stay well :)

Alice, I envy you and your determination to exercise and save the planet from your carbon footprint! Wow! I can't imagine riding a bike that far! Stay safe out there! Where I live, riding a bike can be very hazardous to your health, as the drivers don't like to go slow enough to share the road, and most of these back roads don't have much of a shoulder to speak of anyway!

Called Allstate this morning to see if they can do me a little better on my car insurance, considering that I have been with them since 84, and that I also have 3 other policies with them. I'm awaiting a call back. I got online quotes yesterday for, state farm, nationwide and progressive that didn't include the other 3 policies and each were at least 100$ per 6 months cheaper. So, let's see what Allstate comes back with! Of course, it will be a lot easier if they come back with something comparable...

I've got some running around to do here today...a package to mail, some documents to deliver, and lunch with a friend. Weather is nothing to complain about here either. If all our winters were like this, I could handle living in the northeast forever! And yes, I know that winter is far from over yet, but so far it's been a mild and uneventful winter for us! And for the first time in a long time the kids might actually get out of school as originally scheduled instead of having make up days tacked on at the end!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day, no matter where you are or what you are doing!

Eggs and sausage sounds good. I'm on my second cup of coffee. I was up for a while about 4:00 and my back wasn't hurting too much. Went back to bed and when I got up the pain is back. Must have turned wrong. Hope it's not going to be like the crick I had in my neck that lasted over a week. Getting old sucks.

It's overcast this morning but don't think we are suppose to have any rain. The high will be in the upper 60's. According to the weather man the temperatures will be above average for the next 2 weeks. The Mardi Gras parades are starting so the parade goers will be happy for the warm weather.

Our Michael's store moved next door to Hobby Lobby and the 2 sewing stores are only a block away. The people with hobbies can make all the stores in one trip. I don't go there very often but it's nice if you can't find what you are looking for in one store it's handy to go next door.

Sue, David Letterman was doing a bit about the lotto and said that you have about as much chance of winning if you buy a ticket or don't. I'm afraid that's about the truth.

Alice, if we start thinking about how much it cost per mile to go somewhere we wouldn't want to go anywhere. Most weeks I can make the week with only 2 trips to town. I get aggravated with my DH because he will go 4 times in one day. Doesn't ask me if I need anything. Then when I go to town he will call when I'm half way home wanting something.

GOOD MORNING ALL!

It's sunny, warming up, and supposed to be a warming trend this week after a cool down last week for a couple of days. I'm sitting on the kids' porch, looking at the plam trees they planted and at the pond----tough view!

Dinah has an appointment at the Osceola Animal Clinic today at 2:30. The exam for adoptions is free----I love that price! She has been peeing nonstop this morning, so I thought it best to get that checked out----just a little at a time, but nearly constantly. She had a long night in her crate as we went to bed at about 9:30, and didn't get up until the sun woke me at about 7:30----no pees in the cage, but ever since getting up, she squats way too often for my liking. I need to make sure she didn't get a bladder infection after the surgery, and also need to get her some heartworm meds. She took one of Molly's yesterday, so she is protected for February, and Molly gets her last one on the 1st.

As for the rest of the day, we will work some more on "SIT" "STAY" and "COME"----She has SIT down nearly perfectly! COME and STAY will take some more work and time! I will be so glad, as will she, when she can go free again.

Alice, I hope you aren't pushing yourself too hard with this long distance pedaling----perhaps some shorter, more often trips might work better? Anyway, be careful out there on the roads, please!

Sue I hope they find nothing serious wrong with Tessa----Dinah will have a sneezey-wheezy thing checked out today, also, but I think it's a result of being intubated for surgery, mostly.

Carol congrats on your Yatzee prowess! I think having a friend will keep Molly younger longer, too, hopefully! They seem to enjoy each other.

Paulette, I hope that company will give you a break after all these years. Makes you wonder why be so good and loyal sometimes, eh?

The kids are back at work, Melissa's parents and Fallon, their guide dog, are visiting with long-time blind friends from back in Illinois who are staying at a Disney Resort where they have a time-share thing until Tomorrow night. My plans are to wash my truck today, and take advantage of the sunshine! I also need to buy a gentle-leader harness for Dinah so she can learn to walk beside me rather than hauling me! The Pet Supermarket is on the way to the vet clinic, so I hope to find one there.

Happy Monday to all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning

Paulette wrote:Called Allstate this morning to see if they can do me a little better on my car insurance,

I called my agent in Washington because it has been over 3 years since my accident in Florida. Now they ask if the vehicle is in the State of Washington for at least 3 months of the year - silly me said 'no'. Looks like I will become a South Dakota resident on my way to Alaska in May.

Arizona nights and mornings are still cool. Just seems to me the weather hasn't been as good this year, but then my memory isn't the greatest!

I was sorry to miss the Quartzsite GTG. I'm hoping Beth and Liz will get here in time for one in April.

Don't know what the day holds yet other than replacing the element in my water heater. Between health and weather, I don't think we've been riding but once in the last 2 weeks!

Wishing you all a day of smiles!
