Yeah, that's just what Utube needs...a film of a short person with to much beer in her trying to paddle a kayak away from a bear! I would be willing to buy someone a video camera just to see it!!

Hahaha Sharon. I'd probably be willing to pay to watch.

Mitch mine was a special - but pretty much the same as this by Advanced Elements: http://www.airkayaks.com/products/Advan ... E1020.html

I looked specifically for lightweight and I do like Advanced Elements and Sea Eagle - so when I found one lightweight by Advanced Elements - I got it. Yes, only a one person one - but I also only wanted a one person one. And I still can take Peaches if I want.

Well, if you take Peaches, you won't have any room left.
So, being the incredibly NICE person that I am, I'll volunteer to bring your beer!
And I can "sail" in first and get the picnic site all set up...
I think that sounds like a real plan.

Mitch...Abby's bacon collar isn't going to do you any good if you run into an alcoholic bear that is attracted to the residual wine or beer in your blood stream! Just sayin...... But then for some uncanny reason I can visualize you and a bear sitting down together and popping the top on a bottle!

And then there's the fact that she's so short that she could just duck between the bear's legs & hightail it out of there! :P

I can just picture Mitch trying to carry the kayak on her shoulders. All anyone would see are feet sticking out just below the kayak!  (Oops, did I write that out loud??)

Mitch, if you came across an alcoholic bear, you'd probably just douse poor Abby with beer and make a run for it! :o (That came out loud too, didn't it! Gotta keep those darn thoughts away from my fingers!)

All kidding aside, let me know how you like that kayak. It will be awhile before I can afford one but am curious if they handle as well as I've heard. I would get the deluxe seats too.
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

OH, I love your new water toy.
Be sure someone is around to take pictures of you practicing getting in and out on your pond. I seem to remember one from Ark a couple of years ago where all one could see was arms and feet straight up in the air.

A couple of years ago I got into a kayak just fine. It was on the river bank and, I thought, a good portion of its keel was in the sand. When I stood up to put on sunscreen I found out it was NOT touching the bottom. My lovely friends told me I looked just like a turtle on its back. I have a very bad reputation around boats; I like 'em, but they don't much like me. People stand around on their toes when I climb into a boat, and the more secure and confident I feel the more they hover. I tend to get everyone wet, and I'm usually carrying things too.

I mean, NO one stands up in a kayak, do they????

I can see I'm going to fit right in here
