Last Friday of January

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Friday of January

Postby Colliemom » Fri Jan 27, 2012 6:24 am

Good Morning everyone,

Seems like it was just the last Friday of December and now we are ready to see January leave next week. Time stands still for no man as they say. And the older you get the faster it goes.

Having a bit of mild weather here this morning. Triggering off freezing drizzle and fog till later this morning. Schools are closed again. At least hey got three days in this week anyway. Been a yo yo month. Gym class today unless the county busses decide not to run, but it's suppsed to warm up and turn sunny a bit later, so that should help greatly. But if the Council on Aging decides to shut down like they did on Monday, that will take care of class right there. So will watch and wait to see what happens.

Hope Soos was able to pick Dinah up yesterday. She was so looking forward to it along with the anxiety that comes with bringing another 4 footed member into the family. Am waiting to hear how it all went yesterday and how things are progressing.

Sounds like everybody's keeping busy, enjoying the southern weather except where the storms are. Mini GTG in AZ too. Plans being laid for the TX GTG or summer travels etc. Now hopefully despite rumors, the gas prices will stay down. Maybe the experts will be wrong.

Got the annual employment application we have to fill out to return to work yesterday, so will fill that out and get it back to the park by March 9th. Will be interesting to see who has decided to come back. Had a nice chat with the supervisor yesterday and he's making plans for what has to be done this coming year. Lots of work this spring I know. There have been a few of us over to visit him this month, so I think he is starting to feel like home. He really is a nice guy. Will be nice having the ol' paycheck coming in again.

So I shall be off and reading through some of the other posts here. Have a wonderful and fun day all.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Fee, Fi, Fiddly aye Oh---Fee Fi Fiddly aye Oh, Aye Oh,oooo-----!!

She's here! I posted pics and comments in the PETS section, for those interested! She is recovering from the effects of the anesthesia quite nicely, as she is much more like her old self who found us a couple of weeks ago. She has been able to eat, pee and poop, has not vomited, rests, and walks all over the yard on her leash. She's not supposed to play hard, or jump, or whatever, for about 10 days-----that will be very hard!

Now to call a vet who offers free exams for adopted pets so I can get her the heartworm meds she needs, and make sure all looks ok. The shelter doesn't have a vet on site all the time, and all he/she does is volunteer to do the neutering---which is a wonderful service!

Oh happy day for us all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning... we had rain storms most of the night and early this morning... now it is just cloudy...
Glad the home coming went well Soos... she will be a good pet...
I have been trying to remember how to make the chicken Nan made for the GTG... I think it was lightly fried then put in a pan topped with whole cranberry sauce and baked... if I should add something else please tell me... will make apple crisp to go with it and share it with Irmi and Steve... hope it is good...
Take care everyone...

The rain has finally stopped and sun popped out at least for a little while; now if it would just warm up a bit. News says we've had more than 10 inches of rain in less than a month.
Kind of a take it easy day but have made some progress on this big to do list. Not very exciting.

You add some salad dressing to the whole cranberry sauce. Liz this is your delicious receipe, would you post the receipe? I cooked my version at the gathering and almost every piece was eaten.

This is one of Liz's quick and easy dishes.
