DINAH DAY!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

DINAH DAY!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

My Dinah is probably getting spayed as I am typing this, and I sure hope things turn out ok for her. I am due to pick her up after 3:00 pm this afternoon. I guess I will drive me and Molly to the trailer and unload all the stuff there before I go to get her, as the rescue shelter (or killing shelter, as it can be) is not far at all from there. I am so hoping she remembers me and the short time she spent back there, and that she won't try to escape and head off to parts unknown if I let her loose as she was before. I am sure she will be drowsy this afternoon, and will have to take it easy, so she'll probably need to be on a leash for a while, at least. I bought a ramp for both dogs to be able to get up into my high truck and into their travel crates, as it's a high jump with no part of the seat left to jump onto before they have to get through the crate door. It was certainly not cheap, but it's light aluminum and telescopes to a very manageable packable size to be stored in the truck bed. It will be very handy for them both when they get old and feeble, as well----perhaps I may have to use it somewhere down the line! Molly tried to avoid it at first yesterday, but, after a few tries, she likes it just fine now.

Today is to be another warm day, in the 80s here, and tomorrow a cooler front will come through with the possibility of rain. Rain would be wonderful for us, as it's been dry as a bone since I got here in November, but for a quick shower twice.

Here's to all who are having 4-footer problems, and may things all work out for everyone. Time for some coffee and a bath then off to the Hideout.(trailer) Stay tuned for some Dinah pics in the not-too-disant future!

Happy travels!

Good Morning Soos and all who follow,

I am so excited for you Soos, getting a new four footed companion to add to you family. And I'm sure Molly will do fine. Course there are always those anxiety issues that we worry about. The what if's that need to be worked through when we bring a new dog into the fold. I have done the two dog thing for over 8 years now and everybody has gotten along well. The best combination I think I had was Sassy and Dancer. Those two just glued together. Even slept together. Unfortunately with a big age gap and Dancers health issues, that was a bit of a short lived thing. I think maybe a year. But I think about that all the time. The friendship and love between them. Sassy and Tessa are mother and daughter and although they get along, it is a different relationship altogether. These two are about a year and a half apart in age and both gettig older, so I figure that in a couple of years I may be down to one dog or maybe none, who knows. Will see how it plays out.

A bit of a mild spell here for a few days. Fine by me. The rain and thunderstorm we had on Monday morning didn't do us any favors though. Just made ice all over now and hard to take the dogs for a walk. Also found out that lightning struck the phone system at my friends motel around the corner here and knocked it out. Wondered, cause there was a big flash followed by a big bang and I kind of thought it hit somewhere. We seem to have more lightning strikes around here anymore. Never used to. Every time I hear one, I worry that it hit the big oak tree that my TT is parked under.

Not much on the agenda around here today. Talking to truck dealers about maybe trading my big engine truck for a different one, to increase gas economy as prices around up here are staying in the $3.50 a gal range and I'm sure they will be heading up as the spring comes on and summer tourist season approaches. Plus I am still considering that offer to go work at the state park farther north of here. So......

Had a good workout at gym yesterday. Really worked the muscles. Tomorrow is aerobics and then done till next Monday again. The weeks are flying by since I started doing this. Having fun too.

So hope everyone has a nice day today, whether you are workcamping, enjoying the FL or wherever you are weather. Those in TX, keep safe with the tornado's flying around down there. Same for those who are traveling or making plans too.

Good morning, Soos, Sue and all who follow.

Soos, I hope Dinah and Molly become great friends and that Dinah will fit right in with your family. I wish I knew you needed a ramp. I bought a nice one to use for Roe in his last days which is in storage at my dd's in FL. You could have had that one. If anyone else in the FL area needs one, let me know. I doubt if I will ever need it for Simba. He's so little, I can easily lift him if he is unable to hop in the rv.

Birdie and I will take her new rv and car to make them compatible for towing today. Don't know what else is in the works, except continuing to stow her stuff. And she'll really have to end up figuring out where she wants things, so will no doubt be rearranging for months.

Hope everyone weathered the storms and will have a nice day today.

Good Morning... Oh here comes Dinah... that is so exciting Soos... I am happy you found a friend for Molly...
It is another day of sun and clouds... they say the cold front will bring temps down a bit... that will not hurt my feelings a bit... 70s are my favorite...
Keep trucking on all of you wandering RVers...

Exciting day for Soos and Dinah...I am curious about the name Dinah, I really like it but we hardly ever hear it anymore. I'm so anxious for pics of her in her new surroundings and interacting with Molly.
Moving into a new home on wheels is work that is fun, imagining all the time where she will take you. The first thing I do when moving into home or RV is line shelves and drawers. My mom did this, and this is why I do and it takes a 1/2 day usually. I use discounted wallpaper which makes the costs almost nothing.
In my RV I did use the rubberized non-skid for where my dishes go.
It's been pretty dreary in AR, with only occasional sunshine...I guess you have read parts of the state was hit by tornadoes. Tonight the weather changes bringing another cold front and chance of stormy weather...

Just a quick check-in as I'm exhausted tonight.
Made it home a few hours ago.
Drove thru a nightmare storm along the spine of squall line all the way from Montgomery to Huntsville. Blinding rain, wind and visibility down to a couple hundred feet at times. To make it worse, I was surrounded by 18 wheelers much of the way. Did I mention I hate interstates and driving in the rain. My hands ache from gripping steering wheel. Kept thinking what if I were in an RV - couldn't spot any place I might have pulled over to ride it out.
While I had a really great 3 week trip and dreaded coming home, do have to admit I'm glad to be here tonight with Nicky.
Will try to catch up with forum news tomorrow.

You just gave a good explanation for why I don't travel interstates any more than necessary. On the back roads, I can go as slow as necessary and no trucks zipping past (well, less trucks, and they can't just zip past).

So glad you're home safe. Relax - and next time - if possible - in the rig - spend another night and wait for better weather. And Nicky will be with to keep you company :)

Glad you are home safe Sarah, no driving at night in your rig. I have a friend who swears by NEXT EXIT. We just got one.
