Tuesday with milder weather

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday with milder weather

Postby dayspring39 » Tue Jan 24, 2012 7:36 am

Good Morning everyone... coffee is hot and there are strawberries, bananas, oranges, dried cherries and also hot cereal for those who choose... and tea or hot chocolate for the non coffee drinkers...
I had a wonderful day yesterday... my friend Molly came over... we went to lunch/dinner, shopping and to her place at Cliftwood...I had thought maybe I would go there because it is a little cheaper but after seeing the park again well I am in the right place... love the field of green grass and the people here especially my neighbors!!
I have the flame on my fireplace blazing with no heat... it looks so cozy in here with that little fake flame going...
Laundry is on the list for today... that is a chore for me to get it there and back... but the trusty trike takes me there fine... there is a nice laundry here so it makes it a pleasant task after I get in the building!
I hope everyone will have a good day... stay out of the way of bad weather...

GOOD MORNING KATH AND ALL!

What on earth are you doing up at this hour, Kath?? Actually, it seems a good sign, as you must be feeling better and not having to stay in bed so much? It sounds as if you had a great day yesterday----so happy to hear you are having a good time now that you are settled in sunny FL!

Doc appointment yesterday afternoon told me that no signs of cancer were found in my reaming, nor any other problems----very relieved to hear that news. However, that still leaves the dilemma of what on earth is wrong with me. He has gone with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which to me sounds like a catchall for whatever when all attempts at a diagnosis fail! So----I have a new prescription to make my liver slow down on bile production (I have no gall bladder to store the stuff) and he said to try charcoal tablets with each meal to absorb the un-needed bile. Why, after all these years with no gall bladder and no troubles whatsoever did this become a problem? Sigh! We shall see.

I pick up Dinah from the pound on Thursday, and we will all go back to the trailer in St. Cloud for training and playtime with both Molly and Melissa's parents' dog, Fallon, who will arrive for a few days on Friday. We shall have our own little doggy-playtime-training classes, plus free time to romp that beautiful fenced-in property.

I hope that nasty weather near Wendy and others comes to a halt and does not continue on into this new year. And the Pacific Northwest is having atrocious weather with wind, snow, and ice, as well. I am definitely in the right place to enjoy my winter, even though I have to make the sacrifice of missing out on Orion hugs for a while.

Jobs for today are to take down outside Christmas lights and water my plants and shrubs. Then it's off to the pool! It's a tough life down here!

Keep a wary eye to the skies everyone.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Heading out the door to work. Love that 5 minute walking commute! Will put in some laundry on the way and finish it up during my lunch break. Weather is cool but promises to warm up. Had some rain this weekend which we really needed but still need more. Stay safe today girls.

A Snowy Good Morning from the 45th,

Couple of inches of white stuff out there this morning. Fine by me. Will cover up the ice from the rain, thawing, freezing rain, and what not yesterday. Might just shovel it off the deck and by the front door later on. No ice there.

Got to the gym and found out no class Guess Council on Aging decided to close yesterday due to the weather conditions early in the morning. When they close, classes are cancelled as well as any events or whatever. Well, it wasn't on the list of closing on the local TV stations. May have been on the radio, but my radio has died and doesn't mean I would have heard it anyway. Not to to stand there and babysit that radio all morning. 7 of us showed up. Decided to work out at gym anyway. Lucked out in that the sub instructor was up there ( I think she works at the gym) and she was more than gracious to hold a class just for us. So we got in our aerobics. If you are wondering why we were out considering the weather, class doesn't start till 10:30, so the main roads were fine. Just the secondary roads that were still icy. But that's normal for spring thaw and refreeze anyway, so we go.

Spending the day inside, working on scrapbook, vacum the house etc. Take the dogs for a walk later on to get some exercise and fresh air. Snow on road will help cover the ice. Hope county doesn't plow it or if they do at least lay down some sand.

Collective cheer here in the county today too. Schools are back in session for the first time in a week. I know teachers, parents and students are all happy as kids were borred, teachers wanted to teach and parents wanted their routines back. And those support staff folks who are paid by the hour and not paid when schools are closed, are going to want their paychecks back too.

Glad Wendy and her family made it through the latest round of storms. Hope those in the PNW are faring okay. Mom Nature is on a rampage this winter. Thunder and lightning here in January is very rare too. Hmmmm. Mayan calendar says we are to expect some violent and unusual weather prior to the world ending in December. Might be time to quit working, buy that dream RV And hit the road while we have some country left to see. Won't need to save all our money as we won't need it anymore

Have a wonderful day all.

SOOS you said "However, that still leaves the dilemma of what on earth is wrong with me. He has gone with Irritable Bowel Syndrome, which to me sounds like a catchall for whatever when all attempts at a diagnosis fail! "
I agree with you that IBS is a catch all. I too have stomach issues and after seeing the doctor and having various test I decided to look at alternative medicine. I believe there are several places in Fl where you could find someone. Don't go with one who wants to sell you a bunch of vitamins though that's a sure sign of a quack. I believe the more medicine you take the more you will need. You want someone who will LISTEN to what you are saying, look at your eating habits, your diet and stress levels as all of these can be the cause of various health issues. It may be harder than taking a pill for a quick fix but worth the effort if you find resolution. The food we eat is filled with so many toxic items. Just read an article about all the additives in soda, especially diet soda and it made me wonder how they can get by with some of the things. I won't go into it here but if anyone is interested I'll send the article. Soda of course isn't the only culprit most of of our food now is responsible for most of the health problems in this country.
It is sunny and looks to be a good day here, lots to do so I'm off to start with baking bread.

I really love winter because it feels so cozy. I do plan to get out today and go to our community center for a walk, run an errand or two, then back home to start my chicken soup or might start it before and leave simmering. I am not a bread baker but there are a couple of things on my bucket list, not that adventurous, but important to me anyway and that's learn to bake really good bread and quilt (hand stitches). I wish now I hadn't sold all my fabric at a yard sale. It's probably best, because I am learning to unload my stuff. If I want to quilt I'll buy just what I need and no more. BJ, if you have a special trick to making bread please share with me. I used my machine for a few years, mainly for the good scent it gave the house, but most of it wasn't that good :(

HELLO SISTAHS!!!

Late again! :D I know it's not morning anymore, but I am still drinking coffee. Does that count???

Weather here is a little better than yesterday. And I did get up before noon today. Shivered just thinking about the snow outside my door when I got my coat on to take Shade out. Lo and behold!! It was foggy as the dickens outside this morning!!! Looked like a steam room outside. And I have a few bare patches where the concrete is visible on the pad! YAY!! And now from the temp in here I can tell that it's warming up outside and peeking out the dinette window I can see bare ground! :D

Got errands to do today. The big thing to do is go to the grocery store. Ya know I have done really well at staying out of WalMart, of course the fact that we don't have a lot of money to spare and that it's about 80 some miles away helps a lot too!!! ;) I just wish that there was a way to stay the heck out of the grocery store. WOW! Would we all be able to save a chunk of money that way!!! But we got to eat. Need also to drop off the payment for our little storage room too. By time I get done today I will be broke again. ~sigh~

OK, off to check the other postings. Hope everyone has a good and fulfilling day. Remember to please be safe in all that you attempt or do.

Love to all

Nancy, you asked about my bread making, I use a very small West Bend bread machine called Just for Dinner and make an organic millet bread. It is great for my morning toast, almond butter and goat yogurt concoction. Other than that I seldom eat bread so it lasts me several days, in fact I freeze three pieces as if I don't it gets old before I finish the loaf. They no longer make the machine but you can find them on eBay. The best part is it only takes 45 minutes from start to ready to eat!
