Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It is Saturday Morning!!!

Postby Gentleladybear » Sat Nov 22, 2008 6:34 am

It is a cold day here in Florida. So got Zee's coffee pot out, have the coffee going and found the jar of Biscotti, set it out with all Zee's coffee cups. Made a few cinnamon rolls and added some sausage gravey and biscuits. It cold and you need a bit of cold weather food.

We had a great Thanksgiving dinner at work yesterday. The ladies that put this together fed over 400 clients and employees. We had the traditional Turkey and dressing, and a great variety of side dishes and desserts. It was wonderful.

Getting all the last minute things here so I can bake the pumpkin pies, and apple pies. My son will made his cheese cake. Like to have a variety of things for the great grands to enjoy.

Fernie so glad to hear Bash is doing better. Keep us posted on her progress.

Ladies have a wonderful day. Enjoy all the goodies in Zee's kitchen this morning.

Gooood Morning Sistahs!!!

Good grief I over slept!! Just walked back in the door from taking the dogs out. Nan!!! Thank you so much for putting the coffee on, I am in desperate need of it this morning. And of course the cinnamon rolls, yummm I love cinnamon rolls.

Just a quick fly by this morning I need to be getting my butt in gear and dressed. Brrrrrrrrrr, it's about 8 degrees on my back porch this morning. I had to chase Honey off the porch and out into the yard to do her business. Shade?? She hit the door running and right out in the yard she went. She had to go. I must have hit my alarm and shut it off so thank goodness for her. She is the reason I'm awake. She woke me up giving me puppy kisses.

Have a great day everyone and stay safe!

Love to all

Good morning gals! whooeeee, does Barbzeee's kitchen smell good this morning ... fresh coffee and rolls,... yummy.

I'm gearing up for a productive day here at home. Will do a dump run,. .. pick up some clutter that accumulated over the work week, and vacuum.

Last night Kath and I went to the school's senior play. They did "Young Frankenstein"... the kids worked hard and did a great job. Knowing them all personally makes it so much fun to watch them do things like this.

Sun is shining,.. time to get cracking!

good morning ladies
how I do love saturday morning cause I don't have to rush out the door to work, ha!
(like no one ever thought of that before  )
I should call it chore day, its the only day of the week I have to catch up on personal
chores, as Sunday I choose to kick back and relax unless of course I didn't finish my
chores on Saturday and have to do up the "must do's" .
For sure I have to wash and clean out the car as I didn't do it last weekend. Its gotta
be clean for Thanksgiving as I got an invite to my childrens fathers for dinner, he is
a retired chef and does up all the family dinners and parties. I was banned from there
3 years ago when his SO and I had a few words, but my daughter said her dad says
the SO will be nice as he (yes, he) has a new outlook on life now that he has been
through cancer treatment and lost his uncle in a car accident. I am looking forward
to the dinner. Gotta remember to take my containers to bring home leftovers :P
yum.
For chores today.......last weekend I shampooed half the carpet, so this weekend I'll
shampoo the other half and it will be done and I can put the machine away, AND I can't forget to wash the car. Just made myself a yellow sticky note for the edge of the
monitor, forcing myself to remember!
Enough jabber from me, another cup of coffee and get the dishes done.
Have a great day, and enjoy your saturday, be safe too.

and Good MOrning to all of you too ! Good to see you this morning Nan, I have been attempting to get all my cups and dishes out of the closets...been having some rough days...and mainly just finding me in there has been hard.. I've been on a roll of making soups.. ! Yep you all heard it.. here in sunny downtown Florida it's the Soup Kitchen.... geeez and I left home early to avoid the chill...brrrrrrrr !!

So I've made Ham Hocks and Pea Soup... Minnestrone Soup and Veggie Beef Soup... my freezer is full of nothing but soups...Where did I go wrong ???????

Yes, the Coffee Pot has been going into Overdrive ....and nothing but the goodies of Biscotti and Banana,Blueberry nut bread.... If I keep going I'll be as big as a barn...well not quite..might even suggest wearing red LOL

Hey, but as far as Thanksgiving, none of the family is coming down...and Robert is stuck home with Medusa ( Nasty Asp Parrot )..she loves him ...just not me !!! So I'm gonna pick up a Turkey breast and do it in the crock pot...like my chicken n' dressing ...but Turkey n' stuffing :)..

Alls I can say...is where's the Heat.... I mean them orange trees look like they'll be sending out frozen juice !!

You all have a wonderful day and someone Please Find the Sun Image

Good Morning Everyone!

It's +9F. this morning, snow is coming down, STILL, on this side of the mountains. It's actually very pretty out there! I am hoping to get my cross-country skis up from the cellar, polish/waterproof my ski boots, arrange my waist harness stuff so Molly can get hitched up to me, and actually go for a ski around my trails!

I also need to cook my little 10 pound turkey in my counter-top oven today, after I go get some Pepperidge Farm New England-type stuffing mix. On the way to shop, I'll also make a dump run. And, of course, there's always the firewood to bring in!

Thanks for putting on the coffee, Nan! But nobody has yet to explain to me what Biscotti is? All I know is that it seems to come in a jar. After a long time thinking that Biscotti was some kind of fancy bread or rolls, I am having to change my perception of what it is!

I hope you all are going to have a great Saturday!

Happy travels!

Good Saturday morning! It's moving day for my DD. We have been packing all week. Movers are coming at 10. My job is wrangling DGD, very busy 2 year old! Yesterday I did a pork roast slow cooked in oven to make pulled barbecue sandwiches for family coming to help. Also coleslaw. Wish I had time for biscotti. Soos, biscotti is an Italian cookie that is baked twice to make it nice and crispy, perfect for dipping in coffee. My Auntie Millie always had a jar on her table too. I think they are stored in jars because of the shape? Is that right Barb?

It's cloudy but not raining, thank goodess! Hope you all have a fun day!

p.s. When we were out walking last night I saw a Casita parked in the neighborhood. First chance I will try to meet the owners.

Ohhh...Saturday morning coffee tastes sooo much better than week-day coffee which is drank driving down the road 65mph dodging deer and other wildlife! Yesterday on the way to work I had to make a dead stop in the middle of the highway to avoid hitting a herd of wild turkeys....and yes I do mean a HERD there had to be 35-40 of them and they were pretty darn brave considering how close it is to Thanksgiving! Thought they owned the highway. The deer and turkey's are so thick inside the city limits of town where I work that you hear people shooting fireworks to scare them away. Always reminds me of the scene in Steel Magnolias where they are trying to get rid of the birds before the wedding reception! The turkey's fly between the fences at the prison and set off the sensors to the the mobile patrol officer that constantly is driving around the outer perimeter of the prison is nicknamed the "Turkey Patrol". Deer hunting season started last Saturday so the deer are on the run too. Several people at work have had deer/car collisions this week...so far this year I've been lucky...but several years ago I hit and killed two in one shot on the way to work. That's when I found out that you have to be very careful how the accident is reported or it can raise your insurance rates.

My day is going to be spent trying to catch up on some cleaning, laundry and other little odds and ends I have been putting off. Fill up the car with gas for next week. I don't have to have Thanksgiving this year.... for which I am extremely thankful!

Oh Soos....will let Wikipedia answer your question on biscotti! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biscotti The stuff is addictive! Thought I might try to make some and even Googled some recipes....but you know...Nonni's is so good and easy!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Gosh---I should have checked in here before I fixed breakfast!! We had boiled eggs, English muffins and grits and juice. Biscuits and gravy sounds good to me. I pigged out on the pecan rolls yesterday so I'll pass on the cinnamon rolls. I did grab a cup of your hot coffee Nan!!!!

Good Morning all ya'll. Oooooh, cinnamon rolls. I'll have two since I can't have any in real life. Slept in this morning - the dogs didn't even want to get up. Am taking my D, GD and her friend to see the Nutcracker tonight. The girls are so excited that its 11am and they're already trying to decide what to wear. Teenagers!! Having Thanksgiving dinner at my daughter's - the advantage to living in an RV - not really any room to prepare a big meal.  I did my duty over the years now its their turn. Just took the dogs for a long walk down by the river so now they're both crashed out on the bed. Tough life, huh? Glad to see Zeee on this morning. Think I'll take after her and make some white bean with ham hock soup in the crockpot today with some cornbread to go with it. Its gloomy outside and I'm not even dressed yet so had better get moving.

I must be recovering from my St. George trip. I spent most of yesterday in bed snoozing & watching the tube, then slept in 'til 10 a.m. today. Was wondering whether any depression was slipping back in. I finally showered & got out of my jammies about 2 p.m.

I'm trying to set up a FaceBook page, and it's freezing up on me. Maybe it's a function of being Saturday or maybe it's junk (or MEEE!!!! ). Dunno.
