Making some progress

I have Music in my driveway and every day I putter in her a little more, gradually filling her up with what I think I must have. Next month I'll start to try to live in her and add or eliminate stuff as I learn. When I'm satisfied with that I'll have an estate sale. I will tell the estate sale agent to look at it as though I have died and my Grandchildren need to make a few bucks on my estate. Family pictures will go to my Sister and Step-daughter, important papers go into a fireproof lock box, and whatever is left in the house can GO. I truly hope to have the house on the market by April. I find myself becoming more and more disillusioned with "stuff" all the time as the reality of living in the RV settles in. It will be such a relief to no longer be the custodian of so-called valuables. As the woman I love to hate would say: "It's a GOOD thing".

Better to get rid of stuff now than be like those westward-ho settlers who tried taking everything they owned in their wagons across the plains and mountains heading to new places, and then strewing the plains with discards!!

Except I might do that with books. Might leave a trail of them in laundry rooms as I go so others can read them!! Sort of like that breadcrumb trail.

It definitely IS freeing not to be the keeper of all the family stuff. Time for the next generation or two to store stuff.

Five more large bags for the trash tomorrow. Two came from upstairs and three from the basement.

They aren't full, but because they have so many old books and papers in them, they each weigh at least 30 pounds. Hardest part is carrying them up from the basement because they are so heavy. Biggest problem with living alone is that stuff is so heavy. Did a lot of dragging. Will drag them out to the curb tomorrow night as well.

I figure maybe 6-8 more bags from the basement. I decided to combine and store a couple boxes for my son in California. He has so little room for storage, I am afraid he will throw too much away and then regret it later. It is only a couple of boxes to add to my storage.
