Always enjoy your photos and commentary, very much. I laugh each time when someone uses the "dam" as part of their commentary, such as you did about seeing the whole dam town from here...it's just so funny and never gets stale...cute, innocent and just so funny.
I, like many others here have seen countless thousands of deer in my lifetime and never once has it gotten "common place" each one is as thrilling to me as the last. A magnificent beauty that exists in the wild...the west is full of so much wildlife. Except in Quartzsite it is hard to come by. a desparate landscape where the critters have learned to move at night and maintain that behavior even during the winter. This part of the southwest isn't everyones "cup of tea" and can be hard to see the beauty. I had to go to the Colorado River today just to hear the water slap on the shore...I cannot live without a body of water...I am missing my glaciers, rivers, meadowlarks, alpine lakes, giant timbered valleys....but all in good time. This desert time for me has been a spiritual journey seeking the face of God...it's been ever so good.

And He is there, probably saying, "Can you hear Me now?" I like to think about how Jesus would take himself into the desert to pray and meditate.

I have only traveled thru the TX panhandle so it's nice to see something different in Texas.
