I'm almost tempted to try the repair myself. I read all about it on the Toshiba forums - where customers are up in arms and Toshiba isn't backing the problem. ALL of us must have abused our computer. Yea, right. Anyway, the part from the usb devices which SHOULD be welded to the mother board is NOT. Therefore, every time you put something in, it weakens the little hold it has, and then breaks. Two of my 3 no longer work. The techs at this ship (3rd I've tried to have fix it) say they would read that thread and would attempt the fix if I requested, at their hourly rate, it would be a minimum of $65 and they predict from what I've said that it would possibly be over $100 - and only with a 50/50 possibility of success - and they say playing with the motherboard means it could cause other damage. Well, dang.
