It's Friday the 13th? Well, I must be lucky then cause if I hadn't gone full time I'd be in Nashville with the awful weather today. Instead it's cool but pleasant here in south Gerogia and the work is fulfilling. Oatmeal for breakfast (gotta eat something solid before taking my medicine). Hot chai in the pot. Come on over.

Good morning Ladies,

Lori, I would love one of the those orange muffins. Sounds so yummy.

Well, Friday the 13th certainly didn't do us any favors today. This big ol' snowstorm came rolling through and..

Image

There's a driveway out there somewhere
Image

This storm has shut down just about every school, community college, tech school, etc. in part of the eastern U.P. all the way down to mid state. Don't know what's going on beyond that as our TV stations don't cover that a way. Our county bus system isn't running either, so that cancelled gym class today too. Darn, I was really looking forward to doing cardio's today. So will have to wait for Monday. Well, I do have an exercise routine waiting for me outside  Although walking behind the snowblower isn't the same thng and I really don't have much shoveling to do, as my blowers do 99% of the work.

I just noticed that my neighbor across the road is doing the neighbors next door, so I won't have to do that. I have a feeling that he will probably do it this winter. Fine with me. I have enough with my drive and part of my yard I clear for the girls. She told him to park his pickup in her garage, since she has this big 4 car garage with only one car and his truck was sitting outside, as their garage is too full of stuff and their other vehicle, to park it in inside. So that may be why he is doing her drive. Kind of a trade off.

This is a heavy snow too, so will rake off the roof of my TT. I have a long handled snow rake that used to pull snow down off roofs, and I use it to do the TT's roof.

Other than all this snow stuff, nothing much doing around here. Now that the sign project is done, I have some pictures printed to frame, my files cleaned out, house picked up etc., I think it's time to get back to work and finish up my scrapbook from last camping season. So I guess I shall be off and get busy around here. After all I have a date with mother nature. Have a wonderful day all.

Sue, I bet the tourist industry in MI is a lot happier this morning...or will be soon. All their snow mobiles were collecting dust! :D Southern Ohio, not being known for its winter tourist season, I have to remember that for Michigan, Colorado, New England and the like....snow is one of their money seasons!

GOOD AFTERNOON ALL!

I am finally online, other than to delete thousands of emails the other morning, but this will be brief as I am borrowing Alice's WiFi-----she's nextdoor to me.

So far this GTG has topped them all, for me, anyway-----we have had non-stop fun and eating and fun and eating, and yes, swimming in the springs and biking. What a great bunch of people we have here! I am going to hate to have to say goodbye.

I won't have time to read whatall has been going on today, but I will when I get back home. We had to say goodbye to Carol, southcarolina carol, today as they say her site is occupied for the weekend. I have had all I could do to stay civil to the poor park rangers and the FL State Park Reservation place, as there have been tons of free spaces here all week and the sign has said they are full----bull pippies! They need to revamp their reservaiton info PRONTO. They update the cancellations to these ocal rangers ONCE per day, no matter who else has cancelled, and the main call-in reservation place cannot reserve a site for the same day----figure that out. Sigh!

Anyway, my son and daughter-in-law are coming for a visit tomorrow and for an overnight. I am looking forward to their meeting whoever is left, and there is quite a goodly number staying until Monday.

Have a great Friday everybody!

Friday the 13th and I was on my way to MX today - after cxling yesterday because of the winds. Well, my brain didn't leave the house with me but luckily kicked in about 1/2 way down when I said to Conni, we can't go to MX. She asked why. We'd already discussed the 13th and that didn't bother either of us. But my passport was still in my rig, that meant, another day MX won't happen. (Memories of coming back and Jean not having her green card - I didn't want to be the recipient of that anguish.) Ah, we are now tentatively planning on Monday.

So, we headed back and stopped in Corpus for an early lunch. Then on to a computer repair place to talk about computers - since no one wants to repair my usb problem - all say it's better to get a new computer. I'm almost tempted to try the repair myself. I read all about it on the Toshiba forums - where customers are up in arms and Toshiba isn't backing the problem. ALL of us must have abused our computer. Yea, right. Anyway, the part from the usb devices which SHOULD be welded to the mother board is NOT. Therefore, every time you put something in, it weakens the little hold it has, and then breaks. Two of my 3 no longer work. The techs at this ship (3rd I've tried to have fix it) say they would read that thread and would attempt the fix if I requested, at their hourly rate, it would be a minimum of $65 and they predict from what I've said that it would possibly be over $100 - and only with a 50/50 possibility of success - and they say playing with the motherboard means it could cause other damage. Well, dang.

Best part of the day was stopping to see some roseate spoonbllls and I think I might have gotten a great picture. About to get it from the camera. If so, you can be guaranteed it'll be on my blog sometime today.

Yes, Mitch, chai, but if the spices aren't for you I'll do some regular tea. I got hooked on chai in Asia but Jasmine tea is a close favorite too. Just never could get into coffee. I think cause in the Navy every pot of coffee I ever tried was really strong stuff. I have one of those machines that uses the K cups and if I'm luck I can find the chai in K cups for $9 which gets me 18 cups of chai. I don't find the chai very often so I have taken to buying a box of vanilla chai bags in the store (all we have in Folkston is a Harvey's grocery, never heard of them before). I get 24 bags for $3.00. I place the bag just so in the place where the K cup goes and pour in my water. Seems to brew it just fine. I usually add a dash of French Vanilla creamer (or even the Cinnabon flavor!!) and I get my chai fix. I actually think I'm saving money that way even with the price of the creamer. And late in the evening when it's cool outside I like to dip my ginger snap in the chair. OOOOOOhhhhhh ... Come on down to the swamp and I'll fix you a cup.

Southeastern Michigan had only about a half-inch of snow this morning. Messy, though. Glad to have an easy drive to work today.

Now looking forward to three-day weekend.

Oops, so much for spell correct. I meant to say I dip my ginger snap in my CHAI. Of course you would think of something off the wall.

Beth, when my older computer only had one USB port, I just bought one of those external USB hubs. IF that's the only issue with your computer I'd certainly get one.

Lenora, that's what I'm using, but that port is going, also. It's only a matter of time and I'll have no usb ports workable.
