A Fun Winter project

Most of you know that i get these little creative ideas flowing around in my head periodically and I have been talking about making a winter welcome sign on Morning Coffe once in awhile. Well, I'm finally done with it and today it got hung outside for the first time.
It's surprising what one can do with an old board, some paint, wood cut outs, glitter, fake snow (Snow Tex) and a bit of imagination.

This was an old board off a picnic table at the park where I work. I salvaged about 4 of them to putter around with this winter. After I cut the bad end off, I went to work on it. It's not perfect, but I think it's cute.

I have plans to make one for the other three seasons of the year. I know some of you have suggested that I make these and sell them as a way to make some money etc. But these old boards are had to come by, I just lucked out here. Plus, all my spare time would be tied up doing that and it wouldn't be "fun" anymore. But it is something to think about down the line perhaps.

Very nice!

It's the imagination that is hard to come by, at least for me.

Very Nice! When I was a kid there was a house some blocks away that always put out seasonal wood cutouts on his shutters...It was a major treat to see the "changeover" to the next season for all of us that lived in the area, kids and adults alike. I felt it was a friendly and kind thing he did for us all. It occurred year after year until we all grew up and left home. I will always remember that and it seems as though the "torch" may have been handed to you with your neato plaques. I am hoping yours can be seen by passers-by, but are you far from the road?

Very nice Sue. Unfortunately my talent only extends to Michaels where I buy the seasonal garlands to hang on the door...I have Christmas and Spring.

A very nice sign. Why not make up some at your leisure and as materials become available. That way you will have a few on hand and can sell them if you have a buyer? It won't be too much like work, nor would it take the fun out of making them.  Linda
