Old enough to remember the Beatles..."Will you still need me, will you still feed me, when I'm 64?"
I'll be 64 in July.

61 here. Planned on "paroling" at 62 because I'm just not too sure how long I can attempt to stay one jump ahead of the inmates! But don't think we can swing it because of health insurance so I'll have upgrade my devious mind mode and "flat" my time at 65! :x
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Sharon, the item you posted in reverse. I look at these men around and think my goodness they are sooooo old. Then I find out, "I" am way older then them. I don't feel it, don't pay attention to the yrs. I've accumulated, but think they must have, cause they act like old men. Or maybe I'm living in a dream world and haven't learned to act my age   If so, hope I can hang on to it for a number of yrs. yet :D

So far, seems the AVERAGE age on this forum is somewhere in the 60"s. I started rving by myself at 62, so guess I fit in there somewhere,  Here I am in my dreamworld again.

I really like these thought provoking post. Interesting .

It does make you think hard about the phrase, "Act Your Age." When I was a teenager I remember spending time in a room with adults at a party in my parents house. Listening to their conversations I realized that there was no magic "grown up" pill or age marker. Many of their conversations and reactions to things were as immature as my so called peers. (Can you tell that I was usually considered "mature" for my age.... ) So at a fairly early age I learned to find "kindred spirits" where ever I could and chronological was not the determiner.

:? Then the older I grew the more I believed that maybe "maturity" had little to do with it but it was the "child" within that responded to the world with an open mind and heart that was very powerful in keeping wonder (and fun) alive.

And in CArol situation I believe that her ability to still shovel the horse piles around with her grands says a lot about her ability to stay grounded in the real!

Being the anal one - the average age of the 28 responders is 62.32 years.
Total years of the 28 responders is 1,745.

Oh boy, this is a new situation for me 8-) Average! ....few have ever thought I was anywhere near average. Personally I always wanted to think that I was exceptional :? .....but well....as in "exceptional children" which really was another way of saying "special" if you know what I mean.

More and more I have thought more positively about leaning toward the term "eccentric." Having gray hair and getting older helps.

My brother shared his belief with me early on that if you want your children grow up being able to make decisions for themselves as individuals he thought it best to model that behavior....

I remember several years ago when I got my last tattoo my youngest son told me I needed to grow up. Don't think so. It's more fun this way.
Have had so much fun the last ten years - I feel younger now than then.

Spent the afternoon at Thunder on the Bay (motorcycles) with my two daughters their significant others and their friends. Kept up with them on drinks and fun. You are only as old as you act.

I'll be 49 in April. My fourth year full timing. Can't imagine any other lifestyle! Even tho I still have to work, I'm doing it my way. I had Bethers as a great mentor :) Plan to do this for the rest of my life! Someday, I won't have to work so hard, but I have seen some awesome country already! I am so grateful :)

Love,
Sharon

Average this one in, Mitch....52 here. I started RVing with my now Ex DH in 2007, as snowbirds. He was 7 years more mature than me and disabled/retired. We sold the house and almost everything in it in 2009 to go full time RVing. We divorced in May 2010. I decided that since I had quit my "dream' job, and couldn't get it back, I would continue the RV lifestyle with my dog, Rags. I bought my 34' Fleetwood Pace Arrow and named her Myrtle. I started workamping as my new "dream' job and I'm loving it...yes, even being the honey wagon lady in the summer :o I tow a Dodge Dakota that I have used for my work and hope to be able to load a motorcycle in it in the near future. I always say that the friends I make along the way is the best part about RVing for me! If I'm not able to do this at some point, at least I can say I did it!
Linda, Rags, and Brutus full-timing it in our 2017 Winnebago Micro Mini, Thumbelina.

When life throws you a curve, lean into it!
