Great pics as usual...tho I live not far from the trace, I've only traveled it once, as my husband used to say, it ran the wrong way for us living in Arkansas...woo pig sooie!! looks like Simba and Peaches became fast friends

I really enjoyed "our" trip down the Trace - thanks Liz and Beth! My curiosity is getting the best of me and I have a couple of questions if you don't mind. Are there towns along the way? How long is the road (i.e. what if you need gas)? It did not look at all crowded, so I guess this is a nice time of year to go - provided you don't hit snow. Did Beth, with a larger RV and a tow car, have any problems on the curves? I have heard it is quite windy (not windy...wiiiindy). Thanks! Maybe on my list for next year.

I felt like I was there with you, Liz, I love that area. I have never seen the leaves all off of the trees like they were at Jeff Bushy though, half off but not all and never that cold. I didn't envy you all that part. Before or after Alaska I will have to get my Trace fix or both ways. The spot you had at Jeff Bushy's is the only level place there, I think , I always try for there, but only made it a couple of times

Simba, looks to be a little smaller then Peaches, is he? course he is a younger dog too. Don't tell him I said this , don't want to hurt his feelings. The bird pix, were great, I loved the Cardinal one. kinda my favorite bird too.

Carol, usually the windiest roads are interstates - one reason I avoid them. Plus, with a top speed of 50 on the trace, you won't feel the wind like when you try to go faster. In some of the open prairie areas, I imagine it could get gusty. Didn't have any problems there. For me, it's probably my favorite ever road to travel. Not a single stop sign, stop light, reason to brake, unless YOU want to stop or turn off (or, of course, someone in front of you does). There are several roads to get on/off the Trace and those go into towns, etc along the way. We got off in one to get gas. I stayed a night before meeting Liz is a cg with electric just a block off the Trace. Was so cold I just was being wimpy and used my electric heater that night Plus, being Passport America, was a cheap overnight stop.

The Trace would be easy to drive with the largest motorhome - as long as you don't mind 2 lane roads (my favorite). It's not very hilly and not very windy at all. And wiiindy I already talked about.

From what I understand, it's not busy most of the time .... but I would think it would be busiest during fall colors. One of the guys from the singles forum drove it during fall colors a year or so ago and said no problem then either. But they were doing construction on some parts when he drove it.

Great road ...

For who asked who is the boss - Peaches let Simba know immediately on meeting that she was the boss. He accepted it, but as time passed, he lost his fear of her, I think entirely. Was adorable to see Simba run into the water to see what Peaches liked about it. And, in all honesty, I think Simba will like water more than Peaches. He had a ball.
