Let's start our day with a good morning here.

It has not dawned but it is Thursday

Postby dayspring39 » Thu Jan 05, 2012 5:11 am

Good Morning everyone... I got a small fireplace for my motor home and it is putting out heat and looks simply lovely... come on over and sit a while so we can chat and catch up on everything... I will make coffee you can bring any goodies you want...
I am ready for a break... I spent yesterday afternoon in the Urgent Care near here... have one of those pesky UTI's again... this is the worse I have had... they sent the sample out for a 72 hour culture and will call me with the results while I am on the road... I have an anti-botic and pain med... how lovely is this!! I know Wendy is thinking why did I hitch up with this crazy lady... lol no actually she has been a dear...
We will leave today and find a pass port America park there we will stay for three nights... I can do laundry (so much as I have made so many messes if you know what I mean)... and bless her heart Wendy will have a place to walk Pepper... I am glad she has stuck with me as she wanted to go back home several times...
Wow we will see you lovely ladies on Sunday...
Take care and do what ever needs doing...

Good Morning Kathleen and everybody else,

Thank you for starting the coffee this morning, Kath. I was at a loss of anything to really write abut this morning. Sorry that you are experiencing health issues again. Hopefully, the anti biotics and pain meds will do the trick and you will be out and about and feeling great again. In the meantime, just take it easy and rest up. Enjoy Wendy's company.

Not much doing here right now. Today is an off day from the gym. Yesterday was my first day with the "Young At Heart" exercixe class and it was fun. But you sure do get a workout. The class meets on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and each day is a different type of workout. Yesterday was muscle moves, a bit of weight lifts, aerobics, stretches etc. for an hour. I'm a little stiff this morning as the muscles are starting to tighten up like they are supposed to be. Tomorrow is Cardio Party day, so will see what kind of moves we do tomorrow. It's a large class. There were in excess of 30 or 40 ladies there. You can come and go as often as you want, do not have to go every week or every M,W,F. The cost is $3 and it's sponsored by our Council on Aging. Hopefully, by the time I go back to work this spring, I will have trimmed myself down and lost a bit of "flab" that I put on last year :) I felt good after the workout. And taking the dogs for a walk in the afternoon, will just help it along more.

Wonder how Soos made out yesterday. I'm sure by the time she got home, she wasn't interested in posting on here. More interested in crawling into bed and sleeping it all off. Hopefully all went well. Thinking about you Soos.

Not sure where today is going. Time to kind of run a vacum and dust cloth over the house a bit. Will probably work on my sign a bit. Tried a little experiment on it yesterday to make icicles, but didn't come out like I wantd, so took the junk off the wood and am starting over again on that. My cousin who goes to the Young at Heart classes, is also doing Line Dancing, and that group meets this mrning. Thought about going up to watch. We shall see. Tessa has had kind of an upset tummy since last night. Was trying to vomit last night but didn't and then started it again this morning. Finally did acouple of itmes, but nothing other than white gooky stuff. She ate the cheese I give them when I give Sassy her pill. had some water, went outside, took care of business and now is sleeping in her bed. Poor baby. Guess dinner or something didn't agree with her. So I"m thinkin I might stay home and kind of keep an eye on her.

So I guess I will start this day, although it's not light out yet. Have a nice day all. Safe travels to those of you who are on the road.

Good morning Kathleen, Sue & everyone!

Kathleen, I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well and hope the antibiotics kick in real soon. I'm so glad Wendy has been there for you. Enjoy your stay at the Passport park.

Sue, I hope Tessa is feeling better soon.

It's a bright, sunny morning here in GA. It's 27 degrees right now but we'll warm up into the mid 50's later today. The worst of the cold snap is behind us and we'll be in the 60's by this weekend.

We did some running around yesterday taking care of some errands. Today is going to be a quiet day, which is just fine with me.

I'm looking forward to hearing from Soos and hope she had a restful night.

GOOD MORNING KATH, SUE, WENDY, IRMI, AND ALL!

I have never been so glad to have days be over as I am to have the past two days over----the purging and the reaming days. I am not proud of my behavior at the surgical center, but I am proud that I actually went through with the so-called "procedure" thanks to the wisdom and ultimate decision of the anesthetist to begin shooting that huge vial of milky white Propofol into my IV. I sat up after crying and shaking my way through the IV start, the blood pressure taking, the attaching of the heart and breathing monitors to me and the signing of all those myriads of papers releasing them all from the possible "accidents", such as a perforation of my intestine, (foremost in my mind as a friend of mine died as a result of one of those perforation "accidents" and another was hospitalized in near death for a repair of one), living will papers, ("Are you all saying I need a will before I undergo this?") and announced that I couldn't go through with this thing. They told me they couldn't force me, and if I wanted, I could leave. Then I freaked out and realized I HAD to do it, but could NOT give my permission to shoot away. Screaming and crying and sobbing and shaking and wavering back and forth, the anesthetist finally said, "Shall I begin?" To which I replied, "I don't know!" and then he said, "Ok, lie down because you will soon be asleep----night night!" Crying my way to sleep and gripping the side of the steel bed rails like a maniac, I went anything but peacefully into that great goodnight. The only thing I actually remember is a feeling as if my entire head and face was being attacked by teensy little biting insects as the drug did its thing. The next thing I knew I was back in the recovery room and it was over. Results: a smallish polyp (maybe more than one?? I forget) was removed for a biopsy, some samples of intestine lining taken to have checked for parasites, and nothing else found that could possibly be causing my discomfort that sent me into that torturous chamber. GREAT relief that they found no huge tumor, or dead, decomposing somethings, or total blockage, or anything else like that. Another colonoscopy in three years.

So now, after two weeks, I need an appointment to go back, meet with the actual doc this time, not his assistant like last time, and get the next plan of action (providing the polyp was not cancerous----he is quite confident it is only a possible cancer down the line) as my symptoms still persist. So I came home and ate and slept all day yesterday and all last night after getting no sleep for over 48 hours. Back to square one we are, but at least ruling out colon naughties.

Onto getting stuff together to take back to the trailer tomorrow, to pack for the upcoming GTG! I think I will leave my canoe here, and just bring my bike----or maybe I will bring both---not sure. Anyway, I am reading that several have canceled their reservations, and others have grabbed them up. I will really miss not being able to meet those who have had to back out, but am really looking forward to seeing all those who will be there. I will leave for the park
Sunday at about noonish, and will be there for 8 days, I think----can't remember how long I signed up for. I need a vacation about now!

My plan: Gather stuff today and load into truck, go to trailer tomorrow, organize, check tire pressure etc., shop for groceries at Win Dixie, make some recipe, relax Saturday and sleep until Sunday morning, hitch, and hit the road. YIPPEE!!!!

Kath, so sorry to hear about your medical problems again, but very glad you found a place to get help and meds. Wendy, don't you dare turn back now! Thank you for sticking by Kath, too.

I am SO looking forward to seeing everybody next week! HUGE sigh from here!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Oh Soos, I am so happy you made it through the ordeal. I had a feeling you would not go quietly :D Kathleen so sorry you are having problems again. If you haven't already, maybe seeing a Board Certified urologist would be a good idea. There must be some cause for the re-occurrence unless they having been giving the right antibiotic or giving it long enough. If you are drinking a lot of coffee or tea that too can irritate. Drink cranberry juice but be sure you get the expensive one that says Just Cranberry. You'll have to add water as it is not sweet. The regular cranberry juice has very little actual cranberry in it and lots of sugar. I'm so glad Wendy was with you it is scary to be sick on the road. I hope the rest of the trip is fun and uneventful for you both.

Good morning, Kathleen, hope you're feeling better real soon. Drink plenty of fluids and cranberry juice. So glad Wendy is with you, tell her she better not turn around, we're all looking forward to seeing her again. Soos, I am sooo glad to see you back, been looking for you. Glad its all over . Looking forward to seeing you this week end too.

I am looking forward to the GTG, although its been really nice in this park. Maggie and I, do our walks each morning and several times a day. She really slowed down on me this morning and took each step at a time up into the r.v. She usually bounds up inside. Still jumps up on this high bed, likes it nothing, but doesn't go up and down as much. This is all to be expected I guess, but its upsetting. We walked every road in the park, getting a good look around this morning. Lot of empty spaces, and its a PA CG and they let you use the discount during the winter and allow 14 days a yr. on your card. Its an old CG, but comfortable and has a huge pool, laundry, I think anything you'd like. In Fl, during the winter to find one that accepts a discount card is what surprised me, and Pleased me. Stretches my alloted Fl. money farther :) May come back for my 10 more days I have this yr. LOL, not sure when or if I will ever come back to Fl. , so would like to hang around this area longer but in the past was way to expensive to stay anywhere in central Fl.

Have to do some good cleaning today, going back to my Sis's tomorrow. Will fill propane on the way, in case it turns cold out at park. I'm hoping it won't. Sat. will meet with a friend from library where I worked years ago. Its been fun meeting and seeing all of these people that I haven't seen in yrs. Last time , 2 yrs. ago when I was down here, wasn't in the visitng mood, just with family. Making up for it this time.

Better get to that cleaning, if it seems I am not wanting too, You are soooo right :o

Hope you all have a Great Day, Stay safe those on the road, enjoy the sights you're seeing. Liz, I am still waiting for the pix of Simba and Peaches. Hint1 Hint! For those not up to par, get well soon, So excited about seeing some of you really soon.

Soos, I kept checking the forum yesterday to see if you'd posted. Glad that ordeal is "behind" you now. At least for the next 3 yrs. I think I'm halfway to my 3  ;) Such a necessary evil, but like you, I had a polyp removed that was benign but could have meant losing my life if I hadn't had the procedure. Good for you! Hope they can find the answer to your tummy problem soon.

Kathleen, I'm so sorry you are going thru another UTI. I have never had one, so I can't imagine what it's like, but it doesn't sound like much fun. Glad you have Wendy with you and will await to hear the test results.

Fairly quiet here this week. I did drive up to my DD's to drop off my GD's birthday present. She's turning 10 tomorrow. I went to Claire's (kids jewelry/makeup store), and bought her the 100 pack of eye shadow she has wanted. She loves dress up and make up and is allowed to play with all that only at home or here at Grammys. Her Dad is having a fit as he doesn't want her playing with makeup at her age. He's not understanding it's how most little girls play. (he bought her a remote control car ;) ).

Choco is back to his old self again so Mama is happy. He meant a little girl doggy on his walk yesterday. A little Yorkie named Angel. He was so smitten with her it was funny to watch. She was pretty shy/nervous because her Mama took her to a doggy park and two other dogs attacked her! She did allow Choco to give her a couple kisses before we left.

Sue, I think those exercise classes are sponsered by the same group as the one I was attending. I'm glad you are enjoying it!

Ok, need to scoot! Wishing everyone a joyous day!

Thank you all for the encouragement... I called the pharmacist and she said I should be on the up swing tomorrow morning... so with any luck we will hit the road and find a place that has a washing machine... Things are or will be looking up...
Soos I am glad your ordeal is finished... no matter what it is a stressful procedure...

I had a polyp removed a few years ago. I was so "happy" after the sedative, I completely missed all of the post-op instructions. In fact, I left before they were able to get me a wheelchair, and my friend who had taken me had trouble catching up with me!

I went home, took a wonderful four-hour nap, then felt so good I went out to a local festival. In the meantime, while I was walking around and eating a kielbasa sandwich, my friend, who had been advised not to leave me alone and to check on me, kept calling me at home--no answer, of course. She was a bit panicky, and chewed me out a bit when I DID get home! I had a repeat a year ago and all was fine, but I stayed home that time.

These tests certainly are unpleasant, but how nice to get it all over.

Oh Kath - so very sorry that you're having these problems. But, they will be over by the gtg - and then you will really have cause to celebrate. With Soos who made it through her ordeal. And Wendy who was going to turn back? What happened there? Glad she stuck with you -

Had no phone or internet last night so lots of catching up to do tonight. Am at a Casino in Louisiana - fancy rv lot with very few of us tonight. They are Passport America - so under $10 for this site. Won $5 at video poker and only played a short time. Got some laundry done --- I think we have cable, but didn't even uncover my tv - would stay up way too late, and am working very hard at getting up mornings. Boondocking in the VERY, VERY cold made it easy to go to bed early - and 2 days in a row I was out of bed by 8 am! Still didn't want to go out yet - but tomorrow it will be much warmer here. Was wonderful today.

Cannot say enough good things about driving the Trace. When I get time, will get my blog caught up and talk about it then. And today off the Trace wasn't bad either.

Peaches and Simba have hit if off after a slightly shaky start (which I predicted). But today, Simba learned the wonders of water. Liz may never like me again :)
