Cloudy Morning at the 45th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cloudy Morning at the 45th

Good Morning everyone,

How was everybody's day yesterday? Was busy for me, as today will be as well. Had another round of snowblowing yesterday, but now it's all cleaned up and no snow, other than maybe a few snow showers or flurries in the immediate future. After all was said and done with the big snowstorm here, this area got between 9 and16 inches of snow. I measured about 9 here. Two of my neighbors took turns and did the neighbor lady next door, one on Monday and one yesterday, so I didn't have to do anything much over there. Just shoveled out a sidewalk and porch. The snowmobilers will be here by the droves this weekend I'm sure. The roads are hard packed and icy. They have been sanded, but due to the cold temps (18 yesterday), salt will not work. So caution is the word of the day right now.

One neat thing that happened yesterday morning after the storm was that we had a Sun Dog in the eastern sky. I took some pictures of it and sent them to two of the local TV stations weather forecasters. One station aired it when they started their weather segment and used it for a background to start out with. Don't know if the other station used it or not as I can't watch both at the same time. But anyway, here's the sun dog. And for those of you who have never seen this or know what they are , here's a link with some information:

Today I'm off to the gym for the first time. Was planning to go on Monday, but mom nature definitely ruled that out. Our Council on Aging (am I aging? Thought I was just getting older  ) sponsors a class called Young at Heart and for $3 you can go up to the gym and go through a series of exercises for an hour. Thought I would try it and see what it's like. If it's not what I want, then I am going to sign up for strength training and get a month by month membership. Either way, it will be a three day a week thing. The Young at Heart meets on Mon, Wed, and Fri. Now if the weather is bad and I can't get up there, I will have to wait till the next session. if I do strength training on my own, I can just go the next day. So we shall see. No matter which way it goes, this body should be trimmed down by the time I go back to work in late April and hopefully a few pounds lighter.

So got to get off this thing and get movng here. Hair washing first thing, then get dressed and gather my stuff for the gym. Shopping to to afterwards, so will be a busy day for awhile. And then the dogs are going to want a walk after I get home.

Soos asked me to tell all of you that today is her reaming as she calls it, and that she will post after it's over and let you know how she is doing. We all know she was worried about this test, so a few prayers sent her way would probably be good. She then plans to get ready for the GTG this next week..

So, I"m off and running here. Have a wonderful day all. Those traveling to the GTG, drive safe, enjoy your trip and stop and smell the roses along the way.

Good morning Sue & everyone!

Sue, that is a beautiful picture that you took of the Sun Dog. I don't believe I have ever seen that before, so I'm glad you told us about it.

It's mighty cold here in GA where we are still staying on our friends property. It was 18 degrees when I got up this morning and we are supposed to see temperatures right around 50 degrees later in the day. But the sun is shining and the winds have calmed down, so it should be a really nice day.

Yesterday I went with my friend to help her and the church ladies take down the Christmas decorations at her church. The day before that was spent taking down the decorations in her house, so we've been busy.

I'll be thinking of Soos today and keeping her in my prayers with hopes she gets a good report following the procedure. I hope everyone else has a good day.

Good Morning to All - well we've done some "recalculating" and are not leaving for Mazatlan today, we'll probably stay here on the beach for another week. Although if today is as hot as yesterday we still might get out of here. The main disadvantage of coming to Mexico, in my view, is that we can't run the air conditioning when we're at most campgrounds down here. Just not enough power to even get it going. We don't have the units on top, we have basement air - takes a lot of juice. If we do manage to get it started it usually blows out the whole campground. We can run it with the generator - but hate to do that to the other campers. Mazatlan is a little cooler and has good power.
Didn't do much yesterday except go out to dinner last night. Really getting lazy here. Today we're supposed to go exploring and try to find a little town that grows orchids.
And maybe find parts of the original El Camino Real that goes through here. Fray Junipero Serra left from San Blas to go to California to found the missions there.
When is this politicing going to end! Enough already.
Great picture of the sun dog - had never heard of them. Thanks

Luckily it is cold, but dry down here in Southeast Michigan. We had a few flakes Monday in some areas, but mostly the pavement stayed dry. Yesterday and today are sunny. I was in California visiting my son and his family for most of the holiday so it was a shock coming home.

Back to work today with a new semester starting also. I am SO looking forward to retiring at the end of this June!!

I am going to the Cleveland RV Show with my Ohio son and his family this coming weekend, so I hope I can find the perfect motorhome. Still unsure what I want.

It's beautiful here in sunny San Antonio. The sun is blazing away, 52 degrees at 9:15AM, heading to around 70 degrees later today. That stretch of weeks in December where the sun was hiding was terrible and we sure are glad to see things back to normal.

I'm thinking about Soos this morning and hoping she and those doing the procedure are doing ok. I remember her saying once she doesn't react well to anesthetic and hospital settings.

Loved the sun dog picture Sue, I had never heard of them either. Good shot!

I used to see lots of sundogs back in MN in the wintertime. They are very pretty!

It will be 86 here today! Far cry from MN weather at this time!

I signed up for a new singles meet-up group last night. I have Saturday off and am going with them to hike Torrey Pines. There are 75 signed up to go, so I want to get there early to get a spot to park.

Hope you all have a great day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
