Alaska

I've seen quite a few of the ladies mention their upcoming trips to Alaska. I'm curious to know if yall are going together, planning on some of your path's crossing or just everybody invading the state on their own. Has anybody warned the citizens of the great state what to prepare for? :P

Some will be going together - they'll have to tell you who they are. I'll be going on my own. Hoping to see all of them up there, though!

Alaska is in my plans also for this summer. Have to get up there and check on Beth, that she is doing her job right :D :o

How we're all traveling has not been decided yet. I just plan to get there, however. But hopefully with someone not to far away. More fun seeing sights with others.

So excited here, but I have so much to do before, that time will fly by I am sure. :o :?

C'mon Vickie, if Alaska can handle Sarah, then you know we won't be causing them any problems they can't deal with.

It isn't like an invasion!! This is friendly folks!!

Chance of a lifetime and you never know when your number will pop up going the other way. So gotta jump on it!

Alaska 2012 is one of those conversations that started around real campfires over a year and a half ago for me anyway. It is such a big big idea that I for one didn't even want to say it out loud for a long time for fear of making the fantasy idea "pop" and disappear. The closer we get to summer 2012 the more it appears to be a real possibility. Then again it is such a big idea we have all appreciated the margin between plans in Jello and liquid soup that just melts and drips away. There are few specific plans other than a possible meet up point around Memorial Day and reservations in Denali the week of July 4th. Several of us want to visit Bethers and see her beautiful bit of Alaska. But If we warn her ahead of time who knows what she might do! I think the over riding concept is that we don't need to travel as a caravan but we are all feel better knowing that friends are within the state somewhere and will come hunt for us if we are not heard from...from time to time! :) ...And, yes, saving gas money for Alaska is why I am not traveling south to FL this winter. I think the grown ups call it delayed gratification or something responsible like that.

I hope all of you realize that if you're in my neck of the woods on your way to or from Alaska that you're certainly welcome to park at Camp Cihak. We have limited amenities but can supply a 30 amp hookup, water and a free laundry room! I might even include a meal and I've recently revived my wine making hobby so I could probably supply some homemade hootch!

Oh great! Let's all meet at Pat's the week before Memorial Day. But then some of us might not actually make it to Alaska, not naming names.
Seriously, thanks Pat for the offer. If I get near you, I will certainly take you up on it.

....timing is all. I am waiting to find out how the spring projects are scheduled at the scoring place so that I have an idea of how long into the spring I will be working an earning that last minute travel cash and when to project my leaving to head west. Besides the interesting states of SD, WY and MT to travel through..... I also have a dude ranch in Montana that I have bookmarked. My cousin's daughter went out for an all girl "Cow Girl Up' sort of experience this fall that sounded wonderful. I might not be able to afford a whole week but the website also priced stuff in smaller packages.....hummmm. :) Once my imagination gets thinking of possibles. :) It would be so worth the sore butt.....

We need to be sure the bail bond fund is active and available before the Alaska trip. We are going to go quietly through Canada then Alaska will know we arrived.

And tell me just how you plan to go "quietly" through Canada? I'm trying to figure that one out .....

I was thinking the same thing, but you said it nicer than I would have! (I'm not a SP fan).

Tina, I have always wanted to go to a real Dude Ranch out west! That would be awesome!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

It took me longer then it did you , Vickie, to figure out what she meant. I'm not to bright sometimes, I think.

No opinions allowed, mine is enough :o Not even a squeak Mitch !!!!!

It all sounds like a blast and such a dream. Pinch me, not really, just a virtual pinch.
