Monday morning Holiday?

Postby Carolinagal » Mon Jan 02, 2012 8:38 am

I can't believe I am first on here, stopped to look in on who might be up already and no one is. Oh, its a holiday and you're all sleeping in? :D

Temp is going to really drop in this sunshine place, so plan to move to a CG this afternoon, where I can run my electric heat tonight. Have been parked at my Sis's place and thats ok, if you don't have to run much.

Almost time for the GTG, and we know we have to have cold weather for that? Or sure seems so, with the past records.

Have a lunch date and much to do, so will wish you all, when you get up. a Beautiful Monday Morning !!

Safe travels for those on the road, Have many of you in mind, take care please.

Winter Storm Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Jan 02, 2012 8:39 am

A Snowy Good Morning from the 45th,

Ah hah, I guess everybody must be all wore out from celebrating New Years and New Years Day since it's pushing toward 8 a.m. here and nobodys up yet. Course I know those of you on the left side are still in the wee hours of the morning yet.

Mom Nature has graced us with the first winter storm of the season. We have a Winter Storm Warning in effect till tonight. Blizzard Warning in effect for some counties west of here. Been snowing and blowing since late yesterday and will continue into tomorrow for awhile anyway. It's not too bad here right now as the winds have shifted a bit, so it kind of stopped the heavier snow. I think that will stay more to our west from here on out although a few more inches isn't ruled out and is in the forecast. At the moment I think I have about 6-8 inches roughly out there. Will contend with it later on. The dogs just came in from laying out there. Seems the worse the weather is, the more Sassy wants out in it. And all the while, we had that nice mild weather, where were they, sleeping in their beds

At least I won't have to do my neighbors drive this time as the neighbor katty corner across the street is going to do it. Yah, that will be nice as I have enough here with my own drive and half my backyard to clear out. I guess he talked to the neighbor next door who is currently downstate and said she wants to come today, but he told her it would be better to wait.

So I have all of today to do what I want, not that I don't every day this time of year anyway. Will work on my Winter Welcome sign, which will be very appropriate right now and go out and do a little snow removal etc. Need to catch up on the forum and also some other business stuff.

So have a wonderful day all. Those of you who are heading to the FL GTG, or just on the road to wherever, drive safe. As for everybody else, enjoy your day wherever it leads you.

Carol looks like you are a busy lady today. Hope it doesn't get too cold down there. It was a pert 41 this morning here in South Central Texas. Sun is shining at us like there will be no tomorrow! I have my turtleneck and sweater on and ready for a walk. Will take off about 8:30 our time, another 20 minutes. Have had pancakes, sausage and coffee and it was yummy. If you come on over, I'll make up another batch and any left overs go in the fridge for another day  .

My neighbors were up all night, yep all night. I could hear them talking outside as they were sitting around a fire. At least they turned off the scare light for last night. I think the camping experience might be new to them. Wow they are in for some fun. It is a young family with 2 little boys about 5 and 7. They do need to learn about camping etiquette.

Okay, those of you out there on the road, be careful and safe as there is someone at the other end waiting to greet you. Those bundled up at the house, stay warm and dry and stay out of the cookies. :o Thought I didn't know didn't you  . Be well this great day.

Clouds, cold and windy here today, but supposed to be better in a couple of days, we have been lucky so far. I am always so glad to see the end of the holidays, my favorite coffee place opens today after a two week break. I must admit to missing my routine, plus no other place in town makes my drink quite as good. Other than dealing with computer frustrations trying to add pictures to eBay the day is moving right along.
Enjoy your hike Birdie, I should be out there but will wait to see if the wind calms a bit. Carol enjoy your day with friends and keep warm! Safe journeys to all on the roads.

'Morning, Sue, and those to follow -

I think the first snow is always the best, especially if you can relax and enjoy it.
No snow in our future (though the last few times we've gotten some it's been at the end of January or the beginning of February, so who knows?)
I had vacation time I had to burn off, so I took the last week off - it would've been some good downsizing time, except that I caught a cold Christmas Eve and hobbled through the week instead. Feeling a lot better now - just in time to go back to work tomorrow
But (cross fingers, knock on wood) the New Year seems to be off to a good start. Safe journeys to those on the road.

The dogs and I are just loafing around here. Herschel said he wanted to go see Birdie because she would take him for a walk. He does not always appreciate my need to stay out of the cold and wind. Though he does seem to snuggle up in front of the heater here in the back room and appreciate that heat. Keep telling me that it is chilly in FL and I will not miss you all so much. NOT! I keep thinking of those beautiful state parks and lovely walks and the free week available at "Blue Cypress Lake."

BJ, enjoy your coffee and your "reading room."

Good afternoon,

Yes, it is a holiday for me. :D

Well, it is another beautiful sunny, cool day here in the Butte. I awoke at 7:00 am, then had my two cups of coffee to start my day. Afterwards, it was time to get with the new exercise and healthy eating program. The last two months I have been in a slump, but it is time to get up, start moving and eating better than I have in the last two months. Onward, I say! :D

Have a great day everyone!

Yesterday was a sunny day at the lake but too windy. There were white caps on the lake. Since we couldn't fish we just had lunch and left. It was suppose to get down to 35 at my sister's and I only run a few electric things when I'm plugged into her house. I decided to come home. Brother(sick cat) is a good traveler. At least he didn't howl for hours. Since he is an out door cat I didn't trust him being out of the kennel unless I was watching him. He would be happy for me to sit and hold him all day. He was eating that up.

It's nice today, about 64 but windy. I cooked the dinner today that I would have yesterday if I had been home. Carolyn I guess it's too late for me to start eating better today since I've already had 2 slices of banana bread. I did buy a pedometer but it's still in the package.

Good Afternoon, everybody! I took the Christmas tree down this morning, and packed away all the decorations except for the outside lights for another year. I am preparing tons of jello for me to eat tomorrow on my purge day. I can have only liquids tomorrow and jello. After 2:00 am, when I finish off the last half of the roto-rooter potion, I can't have anything more to drink until the reaming is over on Wednesday morning.

Happy rest of the day. I am so looking forwad to Wednesday afternoon!

Good afternoon. The pets and I have made it to Mississippi and the Natchez Trace on this blustery winter's day. Simba and I took a brisk walk to the mountain top viewpoint and the wind blew us back down to the cg. It will be a very cold night tonight, but expect the temps to rise some by week's end and as I move south. Simba is looking forward to meeting Peaches here at the cg either later today or probably tomorrow, and we will travel together a few days until we get to TX.

Safe travels to those on the road, everybody stay warm, and Soos, I hope everything comes out all right. ;)

The first half of the day hasn't been too good for me. I had an appointment this morning to meet with a trainer for an orientation at the fitness center. I bought a workout outfit last week, but I couldn't find it anywhere this morning! So frustrating! So I threw on some old sweats and headed out. I thought I was just going to be shown the equipment and how to use it. What I ended up with was a drill sergeant and boot camp!! By the third machine I was wiped out already. Then I started feeling light-headed and asked if we could stop and call it a day. She kept pushing me to do more. I finally just stopped and told her I was going to pass out and was breaking out in a cold sweat. She had me lay down on the machine and went to get some gatorade. I had to get down on the floor since everything was going black on me. Then I threw up (luckily I had a towel with me). She came back with the gatorade, and a manager came over to help me. He seemed a lot more concerned than she did. Once I got feeling a little better we went back to the office. She made me drink all 32 ounces of the gatorade! Whew! I agreed to come back in a couple days to finish the orientation, but I am thinking I need to talk to a manager before then and let them know I just want a moderate workout that I can manage without killing myself. I just want to tone up a little. I didn't sign up for bootcamp! Geeze!

Some good news...I checked my credit reports and scores on line last night. I really thought it was going to be bad since I have a bankruptcy from 8 years ago and some other financial issues since then. But I was shocked to see all three were in the low 700's! Not bad at all! I only have a few payments left on my student loan so that will help some too, to get that paid off. So that made me feel better!

I watched the Rose Parade this morning. It is so amazing the time and effort that goes into those gorgeous floats, all for a 2 hour parade! Also took down the X-Mas decorations today and taking it easy for the rest of the afternoon. I think I will go out on the patio with a book. It is 82 here today. My roommate just came home with ice cream, so I think I will do that first! (speaking of my roommate, she is bi-polar, and last night she was ready to kill herself and this morning she was running around here singing! Go figure!? I had to give her a lot of "therapy" last night to calm her down  ).
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

;)

Peaches and I talked about catching up with you. But we stuck with our route that took us further north to do more of the Trace - and then Peaches enjoyed where we tried to call you from - a picnic area about mm 315, I think - so we (I) froze outside while she romped and I tried to take some bird pics. Tried really hard to get a blue bird - best pic is a blurry blob of blue lol

I'm glad, right now, for this $12 rv park right off the Trace. Have both my electric heaters going and it's only 5:30. Tomorrow I'll be less of a wuss - and will catch up with Liz and deal with the cold - the wind should die down overnight (hope they aren't lying about that :) )

Oh, I don't think Peaches understands me about her wanting to meet Simba. When she meets him, she'll have changed her mind about lolly gagging around today.

Barbie, I think the manager needs to have a talk with the trainer. If someone decides to take up jogging they don't start with a marathon. She must be watching too many of those "looser" shows. I'm surprised they haven't killed one of those people.
