Thursday, December 29th

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Thursday, December 29th

Morning all,

The days are counting down. Two more days left of 2011. Got anything you wanted to accomplish, had better get it done.
I'm going to clean up the house for the last time this year. Thought you would all like to hear that exciting news

Just finished a bowl of cereal and a bowl of strawberries will be coming up shortly. I have plenty if anybody's interested. Then will get my act together and do a bit of house cleaning this morning. Want to go get my hair cut after noon. The lady who does my hair doesn't open till noon as she works nights as a CNA in one of the nursing homes in Gaylord. So she needs some snooze time. Just a little private beauty shop down the way here about two miles. She doesn't have a lined up to get in type thing but a lot of us locals patronize her. She does one of the best jobs of cutting hair that I have had in years.

Then will probably walk the dogs a bit after that and work on my sign for awhie. It's getting to the assemble it together stage before I put the finishing touches on it. Might be done by the weekend, hard to say. Have to decide just how i am going to hang it up as I can't find any of those plastic siding clips to hang Christmas lights up on now that the Christmas stuff is almost gone. However I haven't checked Lowe's or Home Depot either to see what they might have in siding clips. I don't want to put screw holes in my siding necessarily. Once this sign is done i will probably go back to working on my scrapbook and finish putting this years trips in it. Then will start another sign for Spring. I'm using seasonal decorations on them, so have to wait till some spring stuff comes out in the craft stores. But I know Hobby Lobby will be doing that before long as they are always ahead of the seasons.

So guess I will go get that bowl of strawberries and get going here.

Morning out there you sleepy heads. Nice crisp 33* here in South Central Texas. Got the coffee ready, yep, New Orleans Creme Brule. Will fix some eggs and sausage here in just a bit. No biscuits though because.....there has been a Tundra Swan spotted about 60 miles east of here and that bird is on my agenda today. I'd love to keep going and go see that rather rare Asian Black Hooded (or some such) Crane in Tennessee, but no can do yet. I hear the Black Vented Oriole calling me from South Texas too. This is the second year for it. I need to get down there. Maybe later.

Okay, off to break an egg. Hope everyone has as much fun today as I plan on having. Be safe, travel smart, play lots.

Good Morning to All - Hummm - I typed four words and spelled three of them wrong. Guess the fingers need some brain to go along with them. Its almost 7 a.m. and no one is stirring around here but me. Kind of cool and foggy out - but as soon as the sun pops over the hill it will get warm quick.
Went into Tepic again yesterday 35miles and 3500feet up the mountain. We took our friends from Idaho up there for their first time. Always interesting and things to see. There was a big gathering of Huichol Indians in the main plaza - Easily over a hundred of them. All ages from babes in arms to wrinkled grandmas. All dressed in their beautiful embroidered outfits. Saw boys as young as 6 or 7 doing beading. Also took them over to see the grand murals int he government building. They still amaze me.
I've had a back ache for a couple of days - just enough of a one to make me crabby by the end of the day. Right now it seems like its a little better hope so.
No plans for today - maybe do laundry. Today is the 5th anniversary of our middle sons death so it always makes me kind of moody anyway. Hard to believe it has been 5 years.

Another sunset shot!

Good Thursday Morning to all.

I had a cool day yesterday (60s!) riding my bike to Sea World today, and taking Molly for a walk along Shinlge Creek. Floridians say it's winter weather here----I say it's spring weather!

2011 is winding down, and 2012 will be upon us before we even realize it. May we all remember the good times we have had in the years past with friends and family who are still with us, and with those who have had to leave us. I love this time of year as the radio stations tend to play oldies!

Hope you all have a great day!

Sending a (((hug))) out to Carol. My the good memories come through to hold you in their embrace also.

Hope everyone else has a good day of traveling, planning or just sitting still and contemplating the wonderful things that they discover along with today's tasks!

Just a quick check-in.
Sending up prayers of comfort to Carol and her family. Anniversaries of losing someone is rough. Hugs.
Choco is doing better. Still can tell his back hurts as he is hesitate to jump up on the sofa still, but acts like nothing is the matter within a few minutes after taking his pain meds. Then in an hour he's back to having some pain as he doesn't want to jump up again.
Nothing on the agenda except for housework. Got all the Christmas decor packed away for another year.
Talked with my oldest sister in Illinois for an hour. Got caught up on everyone's Dr appts and hospital stays. :( Why do those two topics override our conversations at our ages?
congrats to all the new furbaby Mommies: Marda, Liz and Ava..who did I miss?
Have a blessed day!

With spine injuries many of the vets will recommend crate rest and taking them out on a leash for awhile so that when the pain medication kicks in they won't keep moving around and keep the "strain" inflamed. They need to move but very carefully......for awhile. Sort of like us when the doctor limits how many pounds we can lift and we start to feel better and the doctor says, "not yet!"

good morning ladies, it is still morning here anyway. Not much planned for today, finished the new shelf and I'm quite
happy with it. Lacey tried it out last night but the girls heard her and she went back up. Nobody panicked though and
I figure I will just let them have their own pace at getting acquainted. Thats the best way.
Spoke with two of my very dear lifelong friends over the last couple days. Both had been in the hospital with some
serious issues. One had a tumor removed from her brain, all went well and surgery didn't take as long as they
figured and she is already home. They don't think its cancer but a biopsy is in the works. The other friend went
in with severe pain in her leg that wouldn't go away, thought it was her rheumatoid arthritis, even went and
had a cortisone shot for it and that didn't help. Finally, after a week of suffering with the pain she went to the
doctor, it turned out to be a blood clot. They had to amputate her leg just below the knee. Unfortunatley it was
her driving foot so there will be some life changes there but I think she'll get that part figured out with a little
encouragement. Still sending up all my prayers that they both heal up without any complications.
I canceled Laceys vet appt today as I've been building a credit for Pixies teeth to get done and I'd rather keep
the money in the credit. Lacey is in good health but Pixie really needs her teeth done. She will probably lose
a few.
Time to get my laundry hung so it will dry. Ya'll have a great day and be safe.

It's a beautiful sunny day here and the temperature is about 70. I went to town in short sleeves and it wasn't too cold. One of the barn cats has a big abscess on his back so I brought him to the vet this morning. Decided to go get my shopping done at Walmart. It's a lot different from last week, not very many people in there and it didn't take me 30 minutes to get checked out.

Looks like my DH has a stomach bug. He will probably give it to me so our New Years dinner might be soup. Was going to my sister's but don't want to be carrying a bug around or traveling with a sick cat.

Soos, you sure have 2 beautiful places and a nice place to camp. I know you are glad you don't have to be in the cold and snow when you can be in Florida.

Beautiful sunset pictures, Soos. My site is at an angle that I don't get a good view of either sunrise or sunset over the water.

I took Simba with my dd and gds to the Augusta Canal and had a nice hike along the tow paths, where in the 1800's mules towed boats loaded with goods along the canal. Then we ate lunch at dog- friendly pizza place. Simba didn't get anything to eat there though. He doesn't beg or act interested in people food, so I'd rathere keep it that way. Now we're all tired.

Thoughts of comfort to you, Carol, as you remember your son. Those anniversaries are always hard.

Lenora----is that YOU????? I would have never known you from your new picture! Is that you now or was that you at another time? You are beautiful in that pic!!

Glad to hear Choco is no worse, but, like Tina said, I think limiting his jumping up on stuff needs to be curbed while he heals those pulled muscles.

Nice new icon!!!

Thanks, Soos.
That was taken with my computer last week when setting up my Skype profile.
My soon to be 10 yr old GD loves doing her own hair and has tried doing mine but gets frustrated because it's always been short so is limited to what she can do. She asked me to grow my hair out, so Grammy is obliging.....so far! My hair is naturally curly so the longer it gets, the more time it takes to fix it. :x
