The Day After

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

The Day After

Postby Colliemom » Mon Dec 26, 2011 8:48 am

Good Morning everyone,

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, whether you were with family, friends or just keeping your own company. Also hope that Santa was generous to those of you whose house he stopped by. Maybe somthing new for your RV? Hope none of you have to get into a long returns line today either.

Was a good weekend here even though I was by myself. I had the dogs for company and we took walks, I workd on my sign project, watched some TV, played on this computer here a bit on and off, fixed a turkey for dinner yesterday and will carve it off the carcess later today. I mostly just did what i wanted to do. And like everybody else, ate too much. I have bread here for toast, eggs and bacon if anybody is interested in eating this morning. Will have to bring a cup of coffee with you as I don't keep that in the house. Don't drink it. But in all seriousness, I do need to lose some weight, so it's either going to be go back to working out at he gym or buying a set of cross country skis and going about it that way, and getting some fresh air in the process.

Looks like a beautlful day coming up here today. Temps in upper 30's but with a stiff south wind, it will keep the warmth down a bit. Way above average for this time of year. I can remeber back in the 70's when it would be -15 here during this holiday week and snow 3 ft deep. Right now it's about 3 inches deep.

Nothing much on the agenda today. Think I might run up to town and check on some ski sets that are supposed to be on sale and also swing by the gym, if it's open today. This is still a legal holilday, so who knows what's open or closed. But will wait a bit till the returns folks have been in and out, and those looking for after Christmas bargains have swept through. There aren't many after Christmas bargains left in most of the stores up here, maybe an aisle or two or three at most if even that. They pretty well cleared out before Christmas as a lot of them had 50% off sales going for a couple of weeks or more. But plan to take the dogs for a nice long walk later today and enjoy the sunshine.

So guess I will be off and moving here. Have a nice day everyone, no matter if you are home or working or whatever.

Morning from South Central Texas. It is a chilly 43* again here this morning. I did awaken to 'dang sprinkles' again this morning. Sure wish it would just pour and get it over with. Not used to this cloudy stuff. We have sunshine down here this time of the year.

Well Sue I am brining my Old New Orleans Creme Brule coffee and please make my eggs scrambled with no runny and a sausage patty with a biscuit along side. I'll bring my sugar free blueberry jam. That is good eating. I did my walking yesterday evening with the campground crew, that is 3 couples that were here last year. They are so much fun. Will do some more walking this morning with another campground crew....see I have two groups that I walk with one a.m. and one p.m. No dogs to walk as only one couple have a dog and she has issues and cannot go for walks. The deer hunting season should be over the end of this week then I will get back to the 3 mile walk that I really like. I can do some good birding while out walking.

Campground is nearly full today. Just had one more addition pull in....that's early check in. I only see 3 sites over here and there were 3 sites on the other side. Wonder how many will check out and head on further south. Today is the day that Irmi is heading south. Safe and fun journey is in store for you.

Breakfast time, so I'll do the eggs, sausage and biscuit. Only one biscuit left. So tomorrow we may have pancakes - banana pancakes. So think about that and let me know how many are coming :o  . Hope everyone has a great day and that you all stay safe.

Hey Birdie
We have sunshine here in town so it should be on it's way out to you as well. Nice and bright, much more like we are used to seeing. If we have any Canadian members, happy Boxing Day to you.

GOOD AFTERNOON ALL!

This is the first overcast day we have had since I arrived here on November 7th. It's a lot cooler than yesterday, but still in the 70s. I will forgo the swimming today for bike riding, I guess.

It sounds as if you all had a great Christmas Day no matter what you did or didn't do. Molly and I stayed close to home most of the day and played Christmas carols. I Skyped with Mandy and Orion, in between their busy day excursions. I think Weldon and Melissa are due to come home today.

It was nice to have a fellow-chatter on Christmas Eve and Christmas Night! Thanks, Sue!

I may head over to St.Cloud tomorrow as I miss my trailer home----or I may stay right here, depending on how I am feeling stomach wise.

Soon it will be a new year, and I hope to learn how to use my Blog page this year. I had no time to work on it when I started it a few years ago, and haven't added anything to it since. I hope loading pictures onto it is easier than using Webshots or Photobucket. If it rains tomorrow, as they are saying it could, I will tackle that blog page.

Shirl, where is the pic of your new haircut??

Have a happy Monday, y'all!

Happy travels!

Well, its morning by about 9 minutes still if I hurry! Hope everyone had a great day and survived all the hustle and bustle and are resting! I guess Im feeling a little post Christmas letdown. It is over so quickly and as Soos said the older we get the faster time flies! Plus the sun is not up and the moving came this am for my great next door neighbors. A new chapter in their lives, but hate to see them leave. They havent sold the house yet but found whay they wanted and they are both professional people with good jobs. Im taking down the tree, a little early but I MAY leave this weekend for Fla Want to be ready in case I do. I will have to find a place to hang out if I get down early for the gtr. Im also paying bills and getting Rxs filled ect so get those things out of the way. Maybe the sun will come out tomorrow! (I think that's a song!) Good day all. Wendy

Birdie, if you have peanut butter for those banana pancakes, I have the best sugar free syrup you've ever had and would be more than happy to share!

Over at the BF's house getting ready to pull out tomorrow for the sand dunes. Weather is gonna be a bit chilly but no rain in the forecast, so hopefully it'll be a good trip.

Irmi, travel safe and enjoy the beginning of your retirement. Hope everyone else is having a great day! Sun is shining here and supposed to be up to 70. I can live with that.

Rode up to Frankenmuth, Michigan, today to visit Bronners and get some ornaments for the kids. (My son and his family are visiting until tomorrow morning.) Bronners is something you should not miss if you come to Michigan. It was not at all busy today although we expected crowds.

Then to Zenders for chicken, but it WAS packed, so with three little kids who can't wait, we ate in the cafeteria in the basement. Even that was busy, and took longer than we wanted, but food was good and I have enough leftovers for a meal.

Parents are out to dinner and a movie, so I am watching kids--two out of three are asleep. Nice to have little ones around at Christmas. Heading out to California tomorrow at noon to see my other son and his family.
