Christmas Eve Day

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Christmas Eve Day

Postby Colliemom » Sat Dec 24, 2011 7:19 am

Good Morning,

A bit chilly here at the 45th, 25 degrees and cloudy. Looks like we got about an inch of light fluffy snow last night. So there is definitely a White Christmas on tap here. It's rare that there isn't. And there might be just enough for the kids and adults too, who get new snow toys to get out and play with them. Not necessarily snowmobiles, but sleds, tubes, skis, and what not. Wel, thre is enough to run a snowmobile on, but not enough for serious riding. But I expect that there will be a lot of happy kids after tomorrow morning, with being off school all week, enough snow play in a bit and new toys to play with inside if not. Also heard on the local news last night, that Toys to Tots up here have exceeded all expectations this year. I know that one of our local Michigan based chain stores here, donated 10,000 toys to them for use in this county and the adjoining county to our south. That was a very generous gift.

I imagine that a lot of you will be busy today, getting ready for Christmas Eve gatherings with family or friends or both. Then there will be those of us who will not be doing anything this Christmas Eve, who will stay home, put on some Christmas movies or listen to Christmas music and remember the good times past.

So, whatever is in your plans for this day, evening and tomorrow, I want to wish all of your a Very Merry Christmas.

We took all the kids to "Lights of the South" last night. Acres of light displays with everything from cartoon & movie characters to the real Christmas story in lights. Afterwards we went for ice cream cones and froze while we ate them.

My older dd and family came up from FL yesterday, so I have both dds and all the grandkids together for Christmas. Glad I had my RV to come home to, haha. Yesterday I took dd Jennifer my gds on their first geocaching hike. We found a big one just off the Bartram Trail that goes through the cg. There are others, like the mini one on the island I kayaked to, but couldn't find it. I will look for others next week. SIL Tony took his 16 year-old nephew to the shooting range...guy stuff.

Not sure what's on the agenda today, but think Christmas dinner...turkey, ham, etc. is going to happen today with leftovers tomorrow after church.
Wishing everyone a happy, peaceful day whether with family or alone.

Just dropping in for a quick cup and to wish each and everyone of you a very Merry Christmas and the best in the New Year. Christmas Eve and Christmas Day is at out house so I still have a lot of little things to wind up before my mom and sister get here. Haven't wrapped one present yet...thank goodness for gift bags!

Good Morning from Paducah Ky I have my generator on for coffee and internet.... I am about 100 miles from my girlfriend Janies and El's... it will be a wonderful few days I am sure...
Things are going good except this plagued foot... kind of puts a stop on a few things... it could be so much worse... so stop whining!!
What a pretty picture Liz... you have an eye for the unusual and the beautiful!
Most of my coffee went on the floor as I moved my foot and tipped it! Tomorrow I will have a leisurely cup or two with Janie... I am looking forward to our visit...
I will miss my family but knew it was important to be gone before the snow started to fly...
I trust you have all of your last minute shopping and chores done...
May your day blessed with the Christmas is meant to be about...

GOOD MORNING TO ALL!

Woke up late this morning, but feeling as good as I have felt in a loooong time, so Molly and I will have a good day before Christmas! I still need to wrap those stocking presents for the kids, and mail off the two baby toys that arrived yesterday while I was shopping at the dollar store and WalMart. I got a neat rubber giraffe for both Calista and Orion. They will be late, but they are both too little to even know it!

It was good to hear that Kath made it safely to Paducah last night, and found a neat parking lot to overnight in. Safe travels today, Kath, for those last hundred miles.

Happy to hear that Sue has some white stuff to set a pretty picture and landing spot for Santa's sleigh tonight! We got snow at home, too, and Mandy says it finally looks like it should at Christmas time. She and Joe and litle Oey are off to Mema's for the day, Mema being Orion's great grandma. She will have such a fun day with them all!

Liz's picture looks a lot like Disneyland down here----how beautiful! You are really busy with family, you lucky girl!

Hope everyone has a safe and fun day before the big day!

Happy travels!

A chilly, to us, 43* in Central South Texas. A few sprinkles to go with the coffee, Old New Orleans Creme Brule, this morning. Breakfast was a biscuit with sausage patty. Passed on the egg...didn't want to dirty up more dishes.

Will be heading to Ron and T's, brother and SIL, down in Schertz here in a little bit. Will spend the night with them so I can be there when Santa comes :o . That has always been a big deal with us "kids". I will be taking the Stollen, what is left of it, that I purchased during the Brenham GTG at the German restaurant in Burton. It is really quite good and since I had never had any before, I didn't really know what I was getting.

When I hear the sprinkles on the rig roof, we are talking big drops here, Texas sized, I just imagine that it is reindeer hooves and that Santa will drop down through one of the vents to leave presents for all the good little girls ;) . Hopefully, he will lift the MaxxAir cover first before he drops in  .

This is the first year that we will celebrate without my Mom. I ask Him for a special blessing for those who will be without a special loved one this year. May we all celebrate that we had a life with our loved ones and they are now in His care this and all seasons.

I sure hope you all have everything that you need and a lot of what you want. Remember to celebrate His Birthday. He would like you to have fun, be kind, be safe and be loving to your fellow man. If you are on the road be careful. If you are parked be warm, dry, and have coffee!!
