Friday, December 23

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Friday, December 23

Good Morning ladies,

It's the day before Christmas Eve. Baking done, shopping finished, holiday plans laid out, cards mailed (as Hallmark says, cards are not for sending, they are for keeping us together), presents all wrapped and under the tree? Good, then everybody should be ready to let the festivities begin  Then in two days, the madhouse of returning it all to the store begins. Arent the holidays great! And there's that day after Christmas shopping frenzy that takes place too. I've noticed the stores around here are getting kind of sparse in what's left of Christmas trees and decorations already. WalMart here is already moving thieir Christmas decorations into what few aisles they have left of it and starting to put out storage containers to store all this stuff in after Christmas is over and put it away till next year. Hobby Lobby has also combined down to about two aisles woth of stuff as well. So I guess the season is winding down. Valentines Day will appear on the shelves right after New Years and then the bathing suits wll follow. Got to get them out so people can buy them before June, when they start putting out the fall stuff

As for me today, I am just going to putter around here. A load of wash is going in the washer right now and I will run the vacum around the house a bit. When you have dogs, there's always dog hair or something to pick up as we know. Then I plan to work on my Winter Welcome sign some more. The vision came to me last night in my sleep (isn't that when we do our best thinking :) ) of what I am hoping it will look like when I get done. First I have to find some wooden snowflakes that I bought at Hobby Lobby awhile back and put someplace  And yes, I will post picture when I'm done.

Well, all I'm doing here is rambling and really saying nothing, so it's time to quit. Hope you all have a wonderful day today even if you are busy getting ready for the big day. Stop and smell the roses for a short. Put some Christmas music on and kick back and enjoy with a glass of wine or something. Course the wine does not apply to those of you who are on the road, at least till you stop and park for the night

GOOD MORNING SUE, AND ALL WHO FOLLOW!

Orlando temperatures are summer-like again, with the possibility of breaking old records today in Central FL-----what a great way to spend a snow-less holiday in the swimming pool at our clubhouse!

Luckily nobody will be monitoring my behavior at any dinner table this year, so "Happy Acres" for me can be postoned for another year. This is my second Christmas alone, although I did have the option of going to Tampa to spend the day with Melissa's parents and other family. I am not fond of this aloneness, but it seems to be the best option right now. Molly and I will find happiness with each other.

I need to go back to the dollar store today to get some wrapping paper, preferably tissue paper, to wrap stocking presents. And some thread to repair a moth-eaten stocking, too! Then I might do some touch-up painting around the inside of this house and once again clean out some rain gutters. After those chores, it's time to ride my bike to the pool, and take Molly for a walk to Shingle Creek, if I am feeling well enough.

Happy Friday to all!

Happy travels!

Good morning! I am reading my "re-employment" contract which I must sign. DD sent me an email on aging. I loved it! Here is the link to the photos and captions. https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid= ... s6dazBf6FA

Sue, I was in Michaels yesterday and they have Valentine candy on the shelves already. They have managed to roundup the Christmas stuff into a couple of aisles. Hobby Lobby still has a lot still to sell. Since Mardi Gras is big here Hobby Lobby has several aisles of Mardi Gras decorations. Some stores are doing better at estimating how much to buy and others not so much. I noticed that Walmart doesn't have much Halloween candy to mark down after Halloween. Which is good for me because I shouldn't be eating Halloween candy anyway. I was in Dillard's the other day and it looks like they have a lot still to sell, Macy's not as much. My friend and I are talking about after Christmas sales. I don't know why because I sure don't need anything.

I would like some of Soos summer like weather. It's in the low 50's this morning and gray and damp feeling. I wish the sun would come out so it would warm up a little. No big plans for today. Probably need to wrap the gifts I have and get them rounded up.

Hello Sue, Soos, Joan, Martha & everyone that follows!

It's not morning on the east coast anymore, but I spent the morning dusting and cleaning. I wrote lots of thank you notes and took them to the post office and bought stamps to put in the motorhome. Before I go to workout, I need to go to the bank to get some cash for the Christmas envelopes that I give to my nieces and nephews.

Yesterday was my nephews funeral. There were 1500 people at both the viewing on Wednesday and at the funeral yesterday. I'm glad this is over and I'm also glad he's at peace now.

Have a good start to your weekend everyone.

I've been at the vet's office with my little Winnie this morning and we will have a very Merry Christmas after all. She had an ultra sound as they thought she had cancer in the bladder but all is well! I posted about it in more detail in the Campfire section but I'm so happy I wanted to post here too.
I don't have all my shopping done but just need a couple of items so may brave a store a bit later, think I need a nap right now though and a few cookies!

Afternoon ladies!

Choco wants a walk but Mama says, "I don't think so". The temps are in the teens and it's such a damp cold that it goes right thru me. Plus I'm too lazy. ;)

Was good to hear some happy news on little Winnie. Hope she continues to get better.

Not much happening here. I did manage to get showered and dressed but with this weather I only want to snuggle on the sofa and watch movies. I did record and watch Elizabeth I yesterday. Wasn't quite what I imagined, lots of blood and gore. Sure glad I didn't live in those times. Stopped watching all the 'tear jerker' movies on the Hallmark channel. After weeks of mostly the same story lines, they make me feel more depressed than uplifted.

With Christmas on a Sunday, I weigh in at Jenny Craigs tomorrow AM instead. Last week I had a .8 weight gain. Hopefully I'll do better this week. She is pretty much letting me do all my meals on my own now as I just couldn't eat any more of the JC food, except for their snack popcorn, breakfast cereal w/almonds and dried cranberries, and baked potato w/broccoli and cheese. These last 5 lbs seems to really hang on!!

Glad FL is getting some warm temps. That's why you live there, right? Good to see Ava post. Hey, girl!!
Catch ya all later!
