House Cleaning Wednesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

House Cleaning Wednesday

A Cheery Good Morning everybody,

I'm sure you can tell by the title of this morning's thread, what I am going to be doing this morning. Just a fair warning to you that I'm up and at em and going to get busy in a bit here  Am also hoping to start working on my Winter Welcome sign I want to make for outside the house. Will also take the dogs for their daily walk this afternoon. Are you tired yet?

I also have a pair of snowhoes advertised on Craigslist and a prospective buyer might come here today and look them over. Supposed to let me know if they are coming. If they do, and they do buy them, then I am going to look at a some cross country skis. Have been looking at prices etc., but like Soos says ACK! There is supposed to be a business around here that sells gently used sporting goods, but I havent been able to locate it and am trying to remember if it went out of business. Will keep searching. But there are also a few Cross Country ski shops here too, so....

Got home from town yesterday and had a call from my next door neighbor, the one whom I help out with this and that, cut her grass and blow her snow etc. Wanted to know if I wanted to go out to dinner last night. Sure, Why not. Actually, what it turned out to be was that she picked up two other neighbors and myself and met another couple at the restaurant, and took all 5 of us out as a way of saying Thank You for all the things we do for her. She had her house listed for sale and made plans to move in with her son and daughter in law , which she did last winter, but with the holp of some of us here in the neighborhood and also the fact she has a lot of friends up here, she is staying put here for now. She and her husband were very active in their church and did a lot of things for others. Took people to Dr. appts., visited them in the hospital or nursing homes, helped them when they needed rides or help moving etc., you name it, and she is still, at 83, doing that. I'm sure the Good Lord welcomed him with open arms and will do the same for her some day. There were over 400 people at his funeral.

Well, times a wastin' here, gotta get going. Have a great day all and if you are on the road or about to be, travel safe, watch the weather and have a safe trip.

Sue, there is a Play It Again Sports store somewhere in Traverse City, in case you go that way. I have never bought anything there, but they do carry a lot of good used sports things, per my kids a long time ago.

Amazingly foggy this morning with temps at 42 degrees. Supposed to be drizzly all day, so it is very doubtful we will be having a white Christmas. Fine with me, but no doubt there will be a lot of skiers and snowmobilers up your way very disappointed.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

Sunny and warm, with winter ariving at 12:30 something this coming morning, I believe. Temperatures forecast to break heat records for this time of year today in Orlando, with the thermometer hitting the 80s.

Sue, if you can find a place to get cross-country skis at a fair price, with good poles and boots, go for it. I think you would really enjoy that kind of skiing----much easier than snowshoeing!

Yesterday afternoon I put on my bicycling shoes and my helmet, got my bike out, packed my backpack with my wallet and cell phone, and was about to pedal to Publix to pick up my prescription renewal. Suddenly I began feeling really shaky and twitchy-like. As I was about to pedal off, I realized something was very wrong, and by the time I got back in the house, my hands were shaking so hard I could barely use them and my heart was pounding hard and superfast. I considered a panic attack, but it was way beyond what I have experienced in the old days with panic. I managed to get my phone and dialed what I thought was Weldon's number and told him I thought I was going to have to dial 911 for help, and, if he was in the neighborhood (he works at Disney) to please come by the house and take care of Molly. I then found a brown paper bag, sat down and breathed in and out into it while contemplating dialing 911. After about 20 minutes or a half an hour, and a few sips of seltzer, things calmed down enough for me to call him back and tell him I thought I was going to be ok. Come to find out, in my confused state of mind, I had dialed my home number and left a message on that phone, which would have made no sense to Mandy when she got home at all-----so I called her back and told her everything seemed to be ok, but please call anyway so I could explain what went on.

Thinking it over, I was ready to leave the house and, as I am no longer using Advair to keep my breathing easier, I took two puffs on my Albuterol inhaler. I have used it on and off for a long time now (new ones, of course) with no ill efects whatsoever. This time, I guess, it was as if I had ODed on it, or something. It was terrifying. I have no clue why that happened, but I will not use that stuff now unless I find I can't breathe. In fact, I threw that particular inhaler out. What else could it have been?

It's always something! I will attempt to pedal to PUblix this morning and then head for the pool when I get home. Happy almost-winter to you all!

Good morining to all,

Soos, I think I would call my doctor to explain what happen to you and if he/she thinks you should go in for a checkup, just in case.

Sue, I made myself tired yesterday. My friend is back from her cruise so we went shopping and had Mexican food for lunch. I found 4 gifts that I needed. I was pooped when we started back. We had an 80% chance of rain but it held out until my last stop. I stopped at the vet's to pick up dog food and the bottom fell out when I walked out of there. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow so may make another run at Christmas shopping. The stores are still full of things so the after Christmas sales should be good if I can stand the crowds.

My DH has a dentist appointment this morning and I have to hang around until he gets back to doctor more calves. I'm sure all the rain last night didn't help the ones that are sick. They can get in the barn but the cold, damp weather doesn't help.

Soos, we could use some of that 80 degree weather. Scary to have an attack like that. I thought I was having a heart attack once and it was a muscle spasm caused by acid reflux.

Good Morning to All - We are on the beach in Aticama. Our friends John and Carol from Idaho are parked next to us and George from Tioga and George is just across the lawn from us. We've been running around all over the place. Up to Santiago Ixcuintla to see the murals. Into San Blas to eat and buy a telcel wifi card. Our satellite won't work here for some reason. So the telcel cost us US$45 with 6 GB of time for one month. At the end of the month we have to take the card into a telcel store to have more added to it. So it is basically month to month - and will be about US$40 a month. If the satellite still won't work when we get to Mazatlan again we're hoping that the telcel stores in Mazatlan can set it up so I can renew on line. I'd like to tell HughesNet to go to blazeses anyway.
Today we might grab George and go to Tepic for the day. Not sure yet. Bill had a really bad leg day yesterday.
Weather is beautiful but this a.m. the bugs are out! During the day they aren't
Everyone take care and enjoy your day be careful if traveling.

Coffee is good... have one of those thin bagels with cream cheese on top very good... I did get my shopping done yesterday and put away in the MH... have so much left to do but have to get motivated first... Sue I am not a morning person unless I have to be...
It sounds like everyone is up and about this morning...
The doctor's office called and guess what I have re broken the bone somehow... so the boot is back on... wondered why it was so tender and red...
The dryer is buzzing so guess it is time to fold clothes...
Have a great day everyone

Soos, this getting older stuff is not for sissies! I had a recent episode while sitting in a chair reading. Suddenly I was violently dizzy and nauseous. I grabbed my cell phone in case I found myself lying on the floor but it passed. I was just in to see my cardiologist and he gave me a thumbs up, so have no idea what happened.

Soos, albuterol will do that. My mother used it in a nebulizer and occasionally would be so shaky she couldn't walk for a few minutes. I've used one occasionally and never had a problem, but that must be scary. It can raise your heart rate and make you feel panicky.

It is best to be sitting while using it and wait a few minutes before you do anything like riding a bike or driving a car.

Morning!

Coffee tastes especially good this AM, wonder why some mornings that happens?

Just got a text from my DD. She worked the flight yesterday, that flew her family to AZ, to visit her mother in law in Fountain Hills. She has today off and will fly down tomorrow to be there for the remaining time till Christmas. So today we are having a mother/daughter day. She is doing her workout right now and then I'll drive up. We love doing puzzles and games together (Scrabble, usually). That's what makes us happy, along with talking and snacking. So looking forward to it!!

Yesterday I had a dermatologist Dr appt for some small red spots on my upper lip. He said it was something that MAY turn cancerous (sun damaged), so suggested either freezing the area or using an acid type cream that will also work. I opted for the cream, 2xs a day until it blisters. Not sure how long it will take for that to happen, but suspect I'll look really cute come Christmas day. ;) Also got a cream for my '"winter itch" on my arm. Geesh, my kitchen island looks like a pharmacy! Still on anti inflamatory meds for my swollen finger. That is still swollen but not as tender.

Kathleen, sorry about your toe. No more kicking that football until it's healed! hear?
Soos, I think a call to the Dr is in order. If for no other reason, to have a baseline on file in case this happens again.
Sue, how nice of your neighbor to treat you all to dinner. You sure have some amazing neighbors.
Carol, I hope your hubby's leg is nothing too concerning.
Martha, glad you got to enjoy a meal with your friend. What fun!
Ok, need to eat and get dressed. Thinking of all those stranded travelers in Kansas area. Allot of Christmas travel aborted, but at least they will be safe. The news reports looked horrid, 10 Ft drifts in CO, too.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Well....my laptop says it's 11:58am so at least I did my morning greeting before noon!! ;)

Ohhhhhhh, it was a frosty one out my door this morning. Brrrrrrrrr! Shade while sniffing around to do her thing was crunching leaves and the grass big time. Me? I stood out there shivering while she wanted to take her sweet ol' time! She is definitely a cold/snow weather dog. Sheesh!

Nothing planned here today. Need to pay the cell phone bill and get a propane tank filled. That's about it really except for a run to the grocery store? Yuck!

Hope all is well in your little corner of the world. Have a great day and do it all safely of course.

Love to all
