A Sunny Sunday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

A Sunny Sunday

Postby dayspring39 » Sun Dec 18, 2011 10:12 am

Good Morning... we are bathed in sun today but frost is over everything... very pretty... coffee is on and will fix anything else you would like... say maybe pancakes or waffles topped with fruit?? it will be waiting when you get here...

The graduation of Tim was yesterday it was so nice to watch... Pete chose not to walk however he did graduate... we went to Olive Garden to celebrate all 17 of us... it was real cute a man behind us said when he saw all of our people 'That must have been one you didn't expect to graduate!' a bit of his humor... then after dinner we went to Margie's to celebrate with punch and cake and all kinds of goodies... I could only drink a glass of punch! I have three meals at least from my left overs... I took my camera and a second set of batteries that I had just charged up... you guessed it neither set worked... ah yes at least the memories are in my mind...

This week will be spent getting ready to leave for TN... I only hope I do not have any more bouts of the runs... ugh that has been a chore in itself! I got a call from the nurse and the doctor wants to see me this week... well why my foot is doing just fine... but will go if they can get me in early in the week... I have been keeping cream on my feet since Margie did the wonderful exfoliating treatment last week...

I will go to the music at church tonight... I do so look forward to music...
May you all have a good day no matter what it holds...

Kathleen - Congratulations are in order - two graduations! Sounds like you had a very special day with your family and what could be better? I hope you are healthy enough to get yourself to Tennessee - just keep saying "I think I can, I think I can..." and you will make it.

Happy Sunday to one and all.

Hello Kathleen, Carol & everyone that follows!

Kathleen, I am so glad to hear that you are getting ready to get back on the road. I am so looking forward to meeting you at the GTG.

I talked to Mom this morning and she sounded so much better than when I talked to her yesterday. Everyone is convinced that Little John is at peace now and no longer in the pain constantly enveloping his brain.

I made a batch of the Mini Pineapple Upside Down Cakes which is posted in the Recipe Forum and as I type, the second loaf of banana bread is in the oven. I still want to make some chocolate chip cookies but am not sure if that will happen today or not. I want to get out in the motorhome switching clothes out for the trip south. The day is young yet, so hopefully that will get done.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Our weather lately is like the stock market, different every day.
Sounds like you had a great day yesterday, Kathleen!
Nothing new here, gearing up for another work week. This made me giggle a little this morning, though...

The maharajah of an Indian Province issued a royal decree. He ordered that no one was to kill any wild animals while he was the country's leader. The decree was honored until there were so many Bengal tigers running loose, that the people revolted and threw the maharajah from power.

This is the first known instance of the reign being called on account of game.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Not much doing here....of course! Sky is a mix of long stringy clouds and a little bit of sunshine. Temp isn't to shabby outside and it's warm inside. :D

For whatever reason I feel like I've run a marathon or been run over by a marathon? Just kinda achy all over, nothing else. No headache, no sniffles, no upset tummy, nothing! Hmmmmm? Wonder where it might lead?? Ack I hate being sick.

Kathleen you must be so proud of your GS's. Glad that you had such a good time. Now!!! On to TN and the south where you will be warmer. :D

Gonna go catch up on what ya'll have been up to. Everyone have a great day and make sure you do it safely.....

Love to all

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYBODY!

I spent a neat mini GTG with Linda yesterday morning and into the afternoon! We met at a local breakfast/snack place in St. Cloud, where she bought me breakfast and coffee (delicious, by the way) and then she followed me back here to the trailer where we got to sit out in the sun for a while. I learned about many local campgrounds and goings-on in the camping world, as well as the possibilities of substitute teaching in Orange County, where my Orlando house is. It seems Linda works for the largest school board around here, and knows all the ins and outs of becoming a sub. I can't wait to gather more info from her after the January GTG and my wonderful upcoming health exam.....maybe by then I'll know more about what I will be able to do. I guess we both didn't think of bringing a camera with us, as we have no proof we ever met! Even after I got back here where my camera was, neither of us thought of pictures. Shame on us!

Today is bright and sunny, as per usual, although much cooler than yesterday after a howling wind in the night led a 'cold' front through----cold meaning in the low 70s rather than the high 70s to 80s! I cannot believe how beautiful Florida winters are.

Weldon is out fishing, and then we may have a rematch of Bocce ball. Molly is just loving being free to roam and chase her ball around when we throw it. I hope you all are having a super nice day wherever you may be.

Liz, I am sorry to have missed you down here this year....perhaps Pete will come to the Lobster Fest with me, along with Linda! Not so sure I could even eat lobster right now, however.

Happy Sunday to all.

Uh oh, no photos . . . guess that means we have to schedule a do over, especially if there will be lobster. I have now had my first official mini GTG. It was lots of fun and I learned that Pete is also very close. Amazing that we are all here in this little town. It was really interesting to hear about Nasoosie's GTG in the Adirondack mountains.

Nasoosie has the nicest set up between two lovely lakes. I also got to meet Molly, who was very friendly and settled down for a quick snooze in the sun near her mama. Nasoosie told me about a couple of camping areas nearby, and one has very reasonable pontoon boat rentals. How neat is that? My sister got all excited about the pontoon boat and said we could go swimming in the late, until I suggested there were probably gators. We'll have to plan a pontoon boat day, minus the swimming.

Made it to work today after spending the whole night up coughing! Yuck! Had one major coughing fit at work but luckily it was during my break. I sure hope this goes away soon!
I made only $20 (tips) on 12 haircuts today. That really sucks! The other girls did about the same. I really miss the other shop I was at. I averaged $5 per haircut there.

I have tomorrow off so will load up on the meds tonight and hopefully get a good night's sleep. No plans for tomorrow other than taking it easy (napping, reading, napping...)

Hope you all had a good day (I know I am a little late again today  ).

Barbie, I have always wondered ...when you refer to the amount of tips, how much does a basic hair cut cost in CA? I am guessing the GC has different rates in different areas. Ours are only between 11 and 13 dollars around here> Just wondering?

The haircuts in Scripps Ranch, where I worked last month, charges $14 per cut and I usually got between $4 and $6 tips there. In Poway, where I am now, charges $16 per cut and I get $1, $2 or maybe $3 tips. This place is mostly families with kids, where as the other place is mostly men who work higher end jobs (scientists, engineers, etc) in the local businesses. Even up in Lake Elsinore, I averaged about 40 per day in tips and they only charged $13 per haircut.

I will just have to be more careful with my money now and just buy what I need and find free things to do on my days off. Now that I have a bike, that will be easier to do (once it stops raining and I feel better!)
