Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Good Morning, all -

Coffee's on, and we're finally getting a little rain, hooray!

The holiday season is off to a slow start here. I had to miss two traditional events due to a digestive disorder (no fun partying when your stomach is doing loop-de-loops) but all is well and there's one of my favorite events this week, the annual Feast for our Master Naturalist chapter. (Master Naturalists are a dedicated corps of citizen-scientists who do things like Audubon's Christmas bird counts, etc. - not nudists :D ).

One of the events I had to miss out on was the Sing-Along Messiah. As it happens, I sing like a frog, but it doesn't stop me from belting out the Hallelujah Chorus with verve and gusto! What's your favorite holiday tradition?

Good Morning Megan and all who follow,

Nice to see you start coffee this morning. I was busy answering a Facebook post inviting me to a party on Friday night. I will go. I'm not much of a party person, but this is old staff I have worked with at the state park over the years and will be fun to see them again. I have to dig around here and find a White Elephant for a gift as we do an exchange type thing by number and it can get hilarious someitmes. I'm getting low on White Elephants around here as I've gotten rid of so much "stuff" in garage sales. Will dig around. Also need to take a dish of something, so am thinking of making Jello salad. Cheap and easy. I still have quite a few Spritz cookies left, so may take some of them along too. That much less for me to have to eat up :x

You asked about favorite Christmas traditions. I guess I don't have any anymore. Being by myself, I haven't really done much of the Christmas thing now that my paretns are gone. We used to always get together with neighbors and family over the years, but now everybody's passed on to that big Christmas party in the sky, so nothing doing on this end.

Sassy and I are heading into town in a bit here as she needs her yearly Parvo shot. So it's off to the vet we go. And then we will do some shopping while out. Well, I will. She has to stay in the truck. I haven't done much decorating in the house other than a few little things and my mother's ceramic Chalet and Christmas tree she made years ago. Have been kind of eyeing this one artifical tree at one of our local stores and it's now 50% off, so might break down and buy it. Will look it over again today.

Sure doesn't seem like Christmas here with bare ground and mild temps outside. Having a hard time even getting my Christmas cards out, cause I want to be outside. Did finallly get my letter made up and run off yesterday, so plan to spend the afternoon today, addressing and stamping the envelopes and off they go in tomorrow's mail. The list of folks I send to has shrunk dramatically over the years since my folks passed away. Some were friends of my folks who kept in touch, but have since passes away and others just drift on. I do enjoy sending them out and getting cards and notes from old friends whom I don't see but hear from at least once a year.

I took the "girls" out for a ride north yesterday to Burt Lake State Park near Indian River. It's about 38 miles from here. Burt Lake is the park that I have the opportunity to work at starting next year and am debating the issue. It would mean a 75 mile a day round trip commute but a beautiful drive on the expressway. It would be some new challlenges and a chance to meet some new faces as far as staff is concerned. I would seriously consider trading my truck for something a bit more gas efficient if I did that. Can't afford to keep and pay for two vehicles. Also would sell my TT as I won't have time for camping with all the driving back and forth. Would just put the RV stuff off on the shelf for a couple of years, till I retire. Can bank the money from the TT, save on extra RV insurance, camping fees etc. in the meantime. It's a beautiful park. I have posted pictures in General talk someplace earlier this fall. We enjoyed walking around the campground admiring the beautiful pines and spruces and along the river as well. And spent a little time talking to one of the Rangers and our old lead Ranger who is now the Supervisor up there. Found out that all the staff but one person is commuting from other areas to work there and most are retired folks. My job at Otsego is still there too if I want to return for another year.

So that's about all the news on this front. Guess it's time to get moving around here, so Sassy and I can leave in a little while. Rain moving in and possibly a bit of freezing drizzle ahead of it in some areas. It's just around 32 here, so will have to watch it. But temps are going to be warming up quite nicely before they cool off again late tomorrow. Not muc hin the way of snow in the forecast at the moment.

Rainy morning here too but it is warm, supposed to get up to sixty today. Since it isn't going to be below freezing for a couple of days, I brought LC home for a few days to get the batteries charges back up by driving her around. The man at the storage place offered to plug her in so I wouldn't have worry about the batteries but that would only keep the coach ones charged and not the engine battery. Then he said something about a trickle charge and totally lost me, since the batteries were still at almost full charge and it started right up I think every two months would be ok. I'm planning on the GTG in FL but the weather will the deciding factor on that.
My eBay sales started out well but have slowed, I sold my old 3g iPhone for over $125.00!! I've also had an increase in clients for hypnosis/reiki mostly for stress, sleep and weight loss. I don't advertise since I work at home. Maybe I'll make enough for gas to FL! Working makes me more aware of my spending!
I don't have any Christmas traditions either I pretty much try to ignore it.
Enjoy your day.

Morning!
Haven't stuck my head out the door, but looks to be in the 20s and clear again. We are pretty much stuck in this weather pattern, it seems. Might get some light rain tomorrow, probably just enough to make the roads slick when it freezes on. The ski resorts are suffering with the lack of any real snowfall. Looks like frigid and dry is the norm this winter.

Nothing planned for today. Might stay in my jammies and snuggle with the furbaby. We had a good walk yesterday as it was sunny and calm. We'll see what the day brings.

Tomorrow my military son, on a TDY (tour of duty), will be in a place where he can get better reception so we are going to try Skyping. Fingers crossed!

I hope to have my 2 GDs over the weekend. They have been wanting to bake/decorate cookies so I got the makings to do that, and I also wanted to take them to a new place that opened called G5 Airpark. It's a huge open area that has many trampolines built over the floor divided by padding. The kids (or I guess anyone that wants to do it), can hop all over from one to the other. You can also go to another area where you do tricks off the trampoline into a huge pit of foam blocks. I think they would enjoy that and would tire them out, too!

Need to quit typing. My middle finger on my left hand in swollen at the middle knuckle. I think it's arthritis, but does swelling (not on the joint area) also happen? I had to remove my ring, too.

Enjoy your day and whatever you plan on pursuing today!!

[quote="Colliemom"] Also would sell my TT as I won't have time for camping with all the driving back and forth. Would just put the RV stuff off on the shelf for a couple of years, till I retire. Can bank the money from the TT, save on extra RV insurance, camping fees etc. in the meantime. quote]

Sue, if you are serious about camping after retirement, I would not sell your TT. 1- it is paid for, 2- you can always drop the insurance, 3- I can't think of any place to put the income, should you sell the TT, that would draw any significant interest that would make selling your TT worth it, 4- you would have to go in debt once again to purchase something later. Good morning Ladies...it is very quiet here in the office and so thought I would drop in, can't remember the last time I was on here in the morning.

We always go look at Christmas lights after attending a Christmas Eve service somewhere. Have done that for many, many years. Not sure what we are doing for Christmas Day...they have a luncheon here at the park but not sure if we are going to do that or not. Am hoping to Skype with our kids that day sometime. I want to do a little baking/cooking - make some fudge and some cookies. Am working on Christmas cards right now. Am feeling a little sad this year as it will be the first time in 34 years we will not be with any family on Christmas Day  but I am sure we will get through it.

We have had rain off/on since last Saturday. Keep asking hubby "are you sure we are still in Texas and not back home in WA?" The skies are grey and it is wet out though it has been really warm last night and this morning...woke up to 70' this morning.

Well I guess I should find something to do here at work - that is what they are paying me for  Hope y'all have a great day!!

Good Morning from cloudy very mild Normal... it is to be in the 50s here today!!! with much rain and thunder... I have a lot planned and a lot done already here... two loads of laundry done. dishwasher done not taken care of yet. Groomer for Shadow at 11 my hair cut while he is getting all pretty... go to my daughters and pick up some things I need... if I have time I will get my new phone... Hopefully get the MH organized so I can put things in when I grocery shop tomorrow...

I was at my daughters helping with her gifts for her Awana girls there are 30 of them and she also has a dozen workers... she is so creative... she got vases for the ladies and made pretzel sticks to put in them the sticks she dipped in chocolate then sprinkled them with colored sprinkles... she tied each vase with a beautiful ribbon... my oh my how nice they look... for the kids she had small stockings that we filled with all kinds of candy the kids will love them for sure...

Yea Yea Yea I wore shoes for the first time yesterday... my daughter soaked my feet and exfoliated them then put cream on them... oh oh was that ever like heaven... when I get home next spring I will go to the place that does this as Margie does not have a lot of time... her mother in law is in a nursing home private room and they are trying to clean out her apartment at West Minster Abby... this is a very hard time on Margie as she cares so much for her... she has had a wonderful relationship with her husbands family all of these years... Bernice is 95...

Oh Sue I agree with Lenora... the tt will cost little of nothing to keep storage insurance on it... you have it stored at your place... you would not even have to get a license for it... you have modified it to your liking and it is perfect for you and your two fur babies... You will not be able to replace it with the money you get for it and the bank will maybe pay you .5% to 1% interest... not much... you know we all will give our 2 cents worth but we can look unemotionally at the facts as we see them...

My sheets are dry so need to go make my bed back up...
May you all have a very good day...

Good Morning to All - well it is still morning for us - not quite 8 yet. Another beautiful day in the making. Sun is shinning, sky is blue and ocean is calm. Didn't do much the last couple of days. Found a detour to go around the construction so we can go south to Aticama in a couple of days. Went to the grocery store. I love Sugar Pops/Corn Pops to snack on dry and found some in liter size boxes - good size for me - Also got a beautiful head of iceburg lettuce for 5 cents US. I haven't seen lettuce for 5 cents for as long as I can remember. Waiting for new shipment of red, yellow and orange peppers then will stock up and freeze - about 48 cents each.
But my Hagan Das was ten bucks!!! I'm worth it!
All the RVs here got together last nite and had a pizza party - Dominos Pizza - pretty good. Almost everyone is from Canada and more come in dasily - I think there are 25 of us here now.
If you're driving and traveling take care. If you're settled enjoy yourself.

I woke up about 4 with a headache and neck ache. My neck was sore all last week and it's still bothering me. A couple of aspirin and coffee has helped but I feel more like going back to bed than getting dressed. It's so foggy it almost feels like it's misting rain. It's suppose to be in the 70's for the rest of the week. Nice to be able to go without coats.

Everyday I think about going Christmas shopping and haven't made it yet. There are 2 blankets that have been in my van a week needing to go to a laundry mat. I hate going to a laundry mat but need the over sized washers. About the only thing I am good at is procrastinating.

My friend went to a big outlet mall somewhere in Virginia and said you could bring you dog in the mall. The only store I know you can bring animals in here is Petsmart. You have to inspect the baskets. :o After having to deal with a couple of dog and cat bites at home I was always worried about my kids petting strange animals when we were on trips.

I can't think of any Christmas traditions we still have except overeating. My DH has to have cabbage and blackeyed peas for New Years but will probably just have deboned stuffed chicken for Christmas. Don't feel like messing with a Turkey again so soon.

I am suffering from a bad cold/sore throat/sinus infection :( Have the day off today so will just take it easy and nap a lot. I have a ton of things to do but most will have to wait for another day. Hopefully, I can get to work tomorrow. I had a bad night, waking up a few times and had a temp of 100 at one point. I hate being sick! I rarely ever get sick but this is twice now in the past month! I guess I need to eat better and take my vitamins!

It has been rainy and cold here in SoCal for several days but is finally starting to clear up today. They had snow up in the mountains not too far from here. Lots of people headed up there yesterday to play in it.

The other day, I bought a bunch of Christmas decorations and decked out the condo with garland, lights, candles, stockings on the fireplace, etc. Looks great! My roommates were so shocked when they came home and were really happy about it! I needed to do something to get me (and them) in the Christmas spirit.

No traditions here either, other than going to church on Christmas Eve. Not sure if I will have enough money to go to SeaWorld on Christmas Day like I wanted. :(

Hope you all have a good day and rest of the week!

Sue, I Just want to chime in and agree with all of Lenora's points about selling/not selling the tt. If you'd be purchasing again in 2 years, I'd definitely not sell. Maintain it, lower the insurance, and overall that would be way less expensive than selling and repurchasing. You'd take a big hit selling it now.

Hi everyone!

Sorry I haven't posted for awhile, but I'm doing training at work right now to get my replacement comfortable with what I do. I must admit that she's catching on quicker than I thought she would. Maybe it's because she's much younger than I am, but whatever it is, it works.

The weather has been mild for this time of the year, so I'm hoping it will stay like this until we head south. I plan on working in the motorhome this weekend checking my clothes and seeing what can be replaced with what's there. I guess next year will be better at guaging this after doing this for a winter.

Sue, I have to agree with what everyone else has said about your TT. You will never get what your trailer is worth and new trailers will be much more expensive than what you paid for yours. By the time you're ready to buy, at retirement age, you wouldn't want to go into debt. You have a beautiful trailer and you've already made it your own. Please think about your options.

Chrsitmas traditions here are going to my parents house on Christmas day for brunch. I fry up French toast for the family, but Dad insists it has to made with French bread. Everyone brings a covered dish and we relish the fellowship. There is little to no gift exchange anymore, which I totally approve of. I hope my sister with lupus can make it.

Good afternoon everyone, I don't mind some more coffee in the pm! I may be done with shopping, if I decide on gift cards wifor the two daughters in law. They like Kohl's. I got the boat anchor, which is still in the car! As for Christmas traditions, they are not necessarily the same every year. I worked almost 19 years in retail so as I said I am enjoying being on this end. A lot of years I was just too worn out to enjoy it! I usually like to find something to do different each year. Went to the parad Sat and then went thu a drive thru display with one son and his family. One year i took all the girls to see The Rockettes and another year the Nutcracker. Met Sarah for lunch yesterday, had a good visit and we're already planning to go to the same place when the next member comes thru Ala! A safe and fun rest of the day to you all! Wendy

No, but I have nothing else going on for Christmas, so thought it would be fun to do that this year. They do have the place all decked out for Christmas including an area with real snow for the kids to play in.

Sea World here in Orlando has the neatest Christmas decorations I have ever seen in my life, and there is Christmas music piped throughout the park all day and night. There is also a special Christmas show at one of the theaters that I want to see. And, of course, if you like them, they shoot off spectacular fireworks every night at closing. I always try to get out of there before the fireworks, as the noise has always bothered me. I think I will spend my Christmas there also....wish you were on this coast, Barbie, and we could go together! Hope you get over that cold soon.

As for Christmas traditions, we were always allowed to open one present on Chistmas Eve, and it was chosen by my parents. Of course, the gifts from Santa were not there yet! On Chirstmas morning, my father always tried to be the first one up to put Mario Lanza's "Oh Holy NIght" on the stereo at full volume, thus waking us all up! Then my brother and I could open our stockings filled by Santa while they made coffee and got settled in for the wrapping tearing and opening! Now, with my family all spread out, we seem to have no traditions, which I miss. With grandkids beginning to come into the picture now, maybe the traditions will begin again.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!
