Cookie Delivery Monday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Cookie Delivery Monday

Postby Colliemom » Mon Dec 12, 2011 8:35 am

Morning everybody,

Did you all have a nice weekend? Mine was busy with shopping a bit, housecleaning, church, dog walking etc. It was a beautiful day yesterday, plenty of sunshine in a clear blue sky. Temps went into the low 40's, so I washed my truck in the driveway. Just a quickie toget off the salt and dirt. First time I can remember washing my truck outside this close to Christmas. Usually I'm running the snowblower. But the white stuff seems to be conspicuosly missing this year so far. Oh ,we've had some, but it goes almost as fast as it comes. Needless to say, the snow businesses have no business and no money coming in.

Today is cookie delivery day. Will be heading out in a while here, soon as I get dressed and then get Tessa to go P for me, so I can take a sample to the vet's office, to check to make sure her bladder infection is all cleared up. She took her last pill yesterday morning. She's really great about taking pills. Let's me put them in her mouth (way back of course) and she swallows them down. But that last couple she didn't want to take. Probably like us, sick of medicine, go away.

Found myself another printer too. Settled on a Canon Pixma MG5220. I like it so far. And I've had really good results with them in the past. It really folds itself up into a nice little machine when I don't need to use it and takes 5 ink cartridges which i like, over the printers that have all their colors in one ink cartridge. With this system, when one ink runs out I can replace it rather than having to throw out a cartridge that still has ink, but has run out of one color. I don't use a printer that much anyway, so I won't be using ink. At the moment I have the print head and inks installed and the print head is all cleaned and lined up. Next step is to get the thing set up with my computer and get it printing. Will do that later today.

Need to get some Christmas cards going around here too. Can't get into the mood for doing that for some reason. Usually by now, I have them written, signed, sealed and some already in the mail. Maybe it's cause there's no snow and it doesn't feel like Christmas is coming, when you are outside washing trucks and enjoyng walking in the nice warm sunsine.

But I am not going to get anything done around here if I sit here and yak all morning  Time to get moving. Have a wonderful day all and don't let the holiday season stress you out. Take time for yourself, stop and smell the roses and enjoying the trappings of the season.

Good morning everyone, I know I can't be one of the first ones up!!! Finally got gift ideas for some of the gks and some of the grown kids (oldest son wants a boat anchor!) so will get a shower and hit the roads in a bit. Sue, if I'm not home when you bring my cookies just leave them on the porch! Everyone have a safe and fun day! Wendy

GOOD MORNING SUE, WENDY, AND ALL!

As Wendy has said, Sue, you can drop off my cookies under the front-door overhang if you find I'm not at home! I can't wait to try them all!

We finally got some significant rain last evening, and, by the looks of it out there, most of the night. Rain at this time of the year in FL is always welcome, I discovered last winter, as this is their dry season and can lead to serious droughts. My roses and other shrubs are eagerly lapping up the moisture, and I am hoping the canals and ponds are rising as well. A rainy day here and there makes for some time to do indoor stuff and chores that nobody is motivated to do when the sun is shining.....like vacuuming, laundry, dusting, organizing, grocery shopping, email, crossword puzzles, and more.

Molly is patiently awaiting her breakfast----yes, I overslept----another luxury on a rainy day!

I called the doc where I am going tomorrow to get more detailed directions to his place, and I will head back there today to locate him for my appointment for tomorrow. I could also clean out the one downspout over my screen room that, despite my screening over the gutter, seems to be clogged once again. It's warm enough that I can tackle that even if it doesn't stop raining.

Happy Monday to all!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

I can't wait until Sue gets here with the cookies. Like I need to be eating cookies. I made another pack of brownies that my DH got at Sam's. I don't really care for brownies but that didn't keep me from eating some. My friend that I make a big tin of candy and cookies for is on a cruise this week. That means I can put off making something for another week. They always try to talk me into going. It wouldn't be so bad if you didn't have to fly somewhere and fly home. It's just too much of a production.

It was clear this morning and all of a sudden a fog rolled in and I could hardly see the road. It wasn't here long and cleared up. Really strange. It's suppose to be in the mid 60's today and warm up to the 70's this week. That will be nice if it doesn't rain. I still haven't gotten my sister's granddaughters anything yet but probably won't see them until after Christmas so I'm not in a rush. Another excuse to procrastinate.

Good morning all! A rainy day here too, in SoCal. Supposed to be snowing up in Julian (quaint little gold mining town in the mountains) today and tomorrow, so I may drive up there on Wednesday to see it. Julian is all decorated up for Christmas now, so with the snow, will be Christmas card beautiful!

I went shopping last night and bought a bunch of Christmas decorations to decorate the condo. I need something to put me more in the Christmas spirit around here! So today, I will be putting all that up around here and surprise my roommates when they come home this afternoon!

I am feeling a little tickle in my throat, so gotta hit the Zicam again!

Hope you all have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)

Early this morning I was off to the vet's office with Maggie. For the past few days she has been under the weather, sounding like she had a stuffy nose, scratching at her red belly, feeling like she had a fever, etc. Florida is notorious for allergies in pets and all of my Jack Russells have really suffered from the pollen here. Doc said she has a strong heart and clear lungs and a normal temp. He attributes her malady to allergy and gave her a shot. Bought more Trifexis for upcoming year and more allergy medicine, so my pockets are now empty.

Heard a horror story last night about towing. New RVer bought a Class C and a Ford Escape to tow. Was assured that she could tow it four wheels down and was given instructions. Half way to FLorida she needed a new transmission on her toad. She and her sister are traveling together and now feel they will have to drive the two vehicles separately to get home. For those of you who tow, have you considered renting a car when you need one? I don't tow (as yet), so that is something I would consider if I really needed another vehicle. Still also considering getting a scooter.

Joan, according to Trailer Life, the Escape can be towed 4 down. I really wanted one, rather than another Jeep, but I read that there were issues with the trans cooler on the Blue Ox site. So I ended up getting another Jeep Liberty. Which I have issues with, but thankfully not with towing. It towed beautifully. I know that Karen (the new one) lost the trans in her Wrangler towing. Jeep accused her of not doing it correctly. I've never had to rent a car, I've towed since my first trip by myself and never had a problem. Well, except for that one time my BIL led me into a dead end and had to un-hook to turn around. The only other problem is sometimes finding a pull thru spot when I'm only going to spend one nite. PITA to un-hook for one nite, but I've done it.

I know some of the girls have had scooters, but they scare the heck out of me. Not enough power to get out of their own way, and I don't think the cagers (cars) can see or hear them as well as a motorcycle. I'm a huge advocate of loud pipes save lives. But that's just my opinion.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Only a few minutes late this morning. But..... I'm still sitting here drinking coffee and of all things eating Jalapeno Pepper cheese! Gooooo breakfast!

Went to bed last night and it was nice and cozy in here, temp outside wasn't to bad. I was really nice going to bed with warm feet for a change! I almost think it was cooler out this morning when I took Shade out to P? While outside I looked up towards the mountains toward where we worked and could see that it was snowing pretty good up there. Wunderground says we have a possible chance of snow here to. Ack! I hope not and along with that thought I hope it doesn't get all that cold.

I'm actually thinking of putting up some Christmas lites! Kelly and I don't do anything for Christmas and haven't for a while now. We really don't need anything other than a new truck n TT or maybe a class c! ;) We just don't have the room as we are stuffed to the gills already. But the lights will serve 2 purposes. Have them for Christmas and to use as night lites. ;)

Ok, gonna get going and see what else has been going on. No plans here today. Hope ya'll have a really good day and remember to stay safe.

Love to all

I hear ya, Sharon but I am looking at maybe a 125cc which has enough power for secondary highways but is still an automatic trans. I wouldn't really want it for long distance traveling - just local sightseeing and running out for groceries, etc. Most of the time I am on the move and don't really need a second mode of transportation. But right now I am parked in Sarasota for several weeks. Luckily I had not sold my car so am using it while here.

ACtually, I was thinking of some sort of electric scooter that would go on a sidewalk or the edge of the road without ever getting into traffic--sort of a glorified bike but with a little motor.

Just something to get around a large campground and maybe to a nearby store. How about this:

Here is another one: http://urbanscooters.com/cgi-bin/urbans ... X-360.html

I ride a bike, so I'll have that.

Tonight is trash night, so I am determined to haul some more stuff out of my basement and toss it. Got so much cleaning out to do. Why do we collect all that crud?
