Saturday, December 3rd

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Saturday, December 3rd

Good Morning everyone,

Finally rolled out of bed this mornng after a furry night. The first thing on my mind last night before I went to bed was to try to figure out how I was going to get into bed :o , as both furkids decided it was sleep with mom night or maybe they figured I could go sleep in the guest bedroom and they would have a nice queen sized dog bed all to themselves. Course they can't just jump up there as the bed is too high for them, so they need my assistance. So I helped this dilemna out a bit.

I climbed in and stuck my feet under Sassy who moved over a bit and then went back to sleep with her head on my legs while I read. I was thinking that it's an amazing thing, that an animal can put so much trust in a human. When the first dog approached man way back eons ago and put his trust in him, he never looked back after that. They are capable of so much love.

After a couple of middle of night potty trips for Tessa, I woke up at dawn and promptly got whacked in the head with a paw. Rolled over and got a cold nose and wet tongue in the face. Very effective alarm clock

So we are all up and have greeted the grey dawn here. Breakfast bar is in the tummy for me and meds and cheese in theirs. There is still a little dusting of snow on the ground here, remains of Thursdays little snowfall. The ground is beginning to freeze, so it is not melting off as quick anymore. Another good dump and it will stay. Supposed to rain today however.

My phone is now fixed and back in business. Tech found a bad wire in the phone jack. Sounds really good now, even louder than it had been, so it must have been going bad very slowly. So furnace is all checked and phone is repaired, the leak in my bathtub taken care of, everything ready for winter, so all is well with the world here. For the moment anyway.

Not sure where today is going to lead. Was thinking of heading to the craft store down the road about 50 miles (I love the drive) or else putting that off and heading into town later as one of our chain stores is having a "Taste of Christmas" this afternoon, with samples of different foods, desserts etc., for sampling. Now who in their right mind would turn down a chance to eat some free yummies  Especially if there happens to be some chocolate involved possibly and also I know some red velvet cake. I sense a free lunch coming up. :P

Well, I'm rambling on about nothing this morning, so time to quit. Hope you have a nice day, no matter what you are doing. Keep safe on your travels and keep planning you adventures if you aren't on the road.

GOOD MORNING SUE, LINDA, AND ALL!

I loved your chatty and contemplative good morning today! It's neat to be able to see your poochies lounging on your bed, also! They sure do look comfy!

I am back at my house in the Orlando area again now, as Goog's father and his bimbo are due back there in St. Cloud today, and I have no desire to be sociable with either of them! It was a beautiful night there last night however, and I had forgotten just how comfy my trailer bed is and how much I miss it when I am here. We played Bocce ball until it was too dark to see, had some of my turkey soup I had brought with me, played a good game of cribbage, which Melissa won hands down, and then chatted via Skype with Mandy, Joe, and Orion. All in all, it was a wonderful time. I hated to leave, but this place is also beautiful and I can ride my bike to spend some time at the club pool and Jacuzzi and get some sun's rays.

Most all of my bills have been paid up, but for one credit card and my real estate tax bill, which can wait until my SS check arrives in another 3 weeks. My stomach seems to be feeling less sick the past couple of days, and I am hoping it is a trend that will get better each day.

Hope those of you in the windy southwest are making out ok----the news photos of those Santa Anna hurricane-force winds are horrific. I watched a large trailer and the pickup that was hauling it be overturned in those winds. Very scary. Linda I hope you aren't in the path of those gales.

Guess I'll get out my bike and head for the club for a while. Happy Saturday to all.

We have an electric blanket on one of the beds and my son delights in putting it on high when a cat or 2 is sleeping on it to see how long before they get too warm and have to move. We have a lot of excitement around here.

I had mine for the day. A calf got out of the pen the others are in and I had to go get it in. Stupid cows. Don't know where my DH is but the calf was looking at the neighbors cows with interest so decided I better go get it in.

It was nice and sunny earlier but it is overcast and very windy now. I was thinking about going to town but don't know if I feel like fighting the traffic. I only need a gift for a party on Thursday so could go during the week. I rode to Lafayette with a friend yesterday and it wasn't too bad at Academy. I ended up getting 2 of the kids fishing poles for my son's step-daughters. I'm not getting into the spirit very fast.

Good morning ladies!

Sue, that is a great picture of your girls! They look so content!

Soos, enjoy your day at the house with some peace & quiet.

Linda, are you in the area in CA that had all the winds? I hear they're starting to calm down, if you call 45 MPH winds calm.

Martha, did you get your calf in?

It's almost still morning on the east coast, so I'm going to type real fast. We went to the Chrsitmas parade last night. Due to an extremely long parade and poor management, there were several, long stand stills, for up to 15 minutes at a time, when the parade never moved. Although it was a great parade and they put lots of thought into the floats, I hope they do something differently next year.

Today is rearranging storage areas for the trip south this winter. I'm getting things together for the office...pens, pencils, tape, stapler, envelopes, etc. I'm sure next winter we'll re-do things again, but since this is our first winter away, and totally new at this, we're not quite sure what to take and what to leave home.

Have a wonderful first day of the weekend!

Good Morning from chilly Arizona - at 9:30 it is 42 degrees. But...we are going riding! I thought they would give it up in the cold weather as they seemed to do last year. I have had a couple days off and have accomplished several things so that is good. I mentioned last night it would be very cold today, but LeRoy didn't seem to think it an issue. Now that I am half dressed and have all my gear out, he called to say 'gee, maybe it is too cold' - Hey, I didn't get up at 6 for nothin'!

Hope you are all having a good day. Soos and Kathleen, so glad you are both feeling better!

Yes, I got the calf back where she was suppose to be. She wasn't on the road, just in a pasture by herself. Cows don't like to be alone so she would have eventually gone through another fence. If she had gotten with the neighbors cows it would have been a pain. The neighbors would have had to pen her and we would have to go get her with a trailer. I hope she is through exploring.

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Brrrrrrr, it's cold here. Had a little snow/sleet last eve while we were sitting here. Started 'hearing something' but wasn't really sure what it was so asked Kelly what I was hearing? She said maybe rain. HA! Nope it was sleet! :o Now let me just tell ya those dang steps were really scary to go down when I took Shade out for her last run around P job. WHEW! I kept a death grip on the inside of the doorway until I was off the steps. Once outside I could use the broom and clean them off. This morning when Shade and I crawled out of bed and went outside for her first run around P the steps had snow on them. Ewwwww! But at least it was a terrifying to go down them as it was last night! I do believe I will be picking up some of those grit strips for the steps real soon.

Finishing my last cup of coffee here and there's not much else in the way of new from this little bitty area so I'm gonna scoot! :D

Hope ya all have a good day at whatever and wherever. Kathleen, sure do hope you get to head south as soon as possible.

Love to all

I remember those days. Generally we got a strange car come up the lane to tell us a calf was on the highway. that was always a rodeo as the mama was still on the other side of the fence so the calf didn't want to be herded. Or they were too stupid to return thru the same hole they made to get out.

Chilly AM here as I got pretty cold sitting in Little Missy awaiting heat from the engine, then runnung the gen and using the electric heater for the prescribed "running with a load" (that conjures up a funny picture!), on the gen. Also texted Josh about getting some LED lights. He has them and will get me a quote. I only want bulbs for the dinette area and over the sink as those are the 2 main areas I use.

Thanks for sharing pics of your beautiful collies, Sue. They sure looked comfy and content. Kathleen, hope you heal quickly so you can get to warmer climes. Looks like AZ is chilly, too. Enjoy your quad trek!

Thinking of Mitch with a heavy heart. Keeping her in my prayers and everyone else that has concerns and needs.

Martha, one of my childhood dreams (other than being a cowgirl) was to be a dairy farmer. I love hearing about your adventures on the farm!
