Good morning from sunny Florida. We have been blessed with cool mornings, but beautiful days this week. Not much happening here. Carol and I have taken some walks, and there was card playing going on too.

Wishing everybody safe travels and comfort wherever you are.

Chilly Friday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Fri Dec 02, 2011 8:41 am

Good Morning ladies,

Where did this week go? Here we are, already into December. It's clear and cold here at the 45th this morning. Temps in low 20's and just a light layer of snow on the ground. Enough to turn it white. This too will probably melt as it's supposed to warm into 30's and sunshine today. So far we have had about a foot of snow this fall and none of it to show for, as far as snow on the ground is concerned. I'm sure the winter sports fans are chomping at the bit especially the snowmobilers. The ski resorts can start making snow and get themeselves in business pretty soon. I can remember the days when some would be up and operating by Thanksgiving weekend.

Nothing much doing here today. Wlll probably work on my scrapbook for awhile. My phone is out of order and I am waitng for a service guy to come this afternoon. Think it's in the wiring. My phone is with my local cable company and as long as it's hooked up to the modem, it will work, but not on any of the in house phone jacks. Trouble is, the modem is in the basement, so my phone is sitting on the basement steps right now. Leaving the door open so I can hear it if it rings.

I have one dog here, Tessa, under the weather right now. She has a bladder infection and is on antibiotics now. So she's been sleeping quite a bit and not eating as much as she usually does. Poor baby. She came to bed with me after a middle of the night potty call and slept in this morning. All curled up by my pillows for awhile. She is kind of susceptible to bacterial infections.

From reading the Morning posts yesterday, it sounds like everybodys doing okay. Soos isn't sure if she's happy with her new bicycle seat, Barbie wants to buy a new one too. Kathleen is working on plans to head south pretty soon. Carol and Bill have moved down a bit farther in Mexico and sound like they are enjoying it. Laura, hope that wicked wind dies down so you can head off to the campground without getting blown apart. Echo, looks like you are going to have to hunker down for another winter. Hopefully you wlll be able to head farther south or even back to TN next spring. Christine I know is also wishing she could head south as well.

As for me, it's time to head for the bedroom, get cleaned up and dressed for the day, make my bed, put a load of wash away and whatever else I see needs doing around here. I am debating as to whether or not I want to go back to the U.P. for Christmas this year. So do want to do something different. But it's not a cheap trip and not sure I want to spend the money on top of just spending some for the Thanksgiving week. Course if I do go for Christmas, I will not stay up there as long.

Good morning Sue & everyone!

Sue, I sure hope Tessa is feeling better real soon. It's so sad when our furry friends aren't feeling well.

It's the last day of the work week. I have three weeks left in the work force and soon will be heading south to hopefully warmer temperatures. The Christmas parade is tonight in our little town of Centreville. The streets in town will be closed off from 6 until 10:00 tonight. Hubby & I will take the motorhome in and situate ourselves in the grocery store parking lot close to the street and watch from the inside out, while the heat is going. As much as I enjoy watching the parade, I don't enjoy standing in the cold for a couple hours. As small as the town is, the parade is quite long, with several school bands, antique car clubs, fire companies, and floats of all kinds.

I'm keeping Mitch in my prayers and hoping everyone is safe, whether at home or on the roads.

I missed him, was he out there this morning? saw the sunrise, but not the shore line. gosh !!!

Good morning Everyone, beautiful here this morning. I keep thinking what its like at home and soooo appreciate it here.

Liz, mentioned the card playing, which I have really enjoyed, but all scores are not to be broadcasted LOL. Well, on to get the day going, little lazy here this morning, won't add that most mornings tend to be a wee slow and lazy getting started :D

Have a great day everyone, stay safe.
CArol :)

Anxious to hear when Kathleen will be on her way down here.

Good Morning to All - have hot coffee and Mexican pastries here. Sun is up and it is warming up after a very cool night.
Yesterday we visited with friends from here. Bought a Mexican blanket to replace the one missing from Willie. Went to the old district and walked around some while Willie got a much needed bath. two hours parking and car wash less than 4 dollars US Willies is happy and shiny now. Bill ordered his new perscription sun glasses - we can get them today US$40.00 And he got a new battery for his watch.
Got up into low 80s here yesterday and our friends were complaining how cold it is.
Today we have more errands and then late afternoon we are going to take the "First Friday Art Walk" in the historic district. It's always interesting. Then probably have dinner over there at one of the outdoor restaurants in the Plaza.
Nice weather and safe travels to everyone.

Good Morning from a mild cloudy Normal... I had a wonderful birthday yesterday... got the MH all ready for Mark to winterize it... I will not be leaving until after the 17th when two of my grandson's graduate from college... hmmmm do you think they will get real good jobs and support me????

Liz and Carol you need to stay put at Sportsmans cove... but I will not be there until the end of the month!!!!! I need to be taught again the hand and foot game... slow memory!

I feel so very good... wow this has been a long time coming and I am hoping I am over the hump and it was a huge hump! no thank you I do not want another helping of this summer and fall...

Mexico agrees with both you Carol and Bill... glad he is doing so much better... he had enough down time...

I am off for a great day sorting things and getting some things out of the MH like the steam cleaner we took to my daughters in Lansing in October... wow that seems like a long time ago... and I have Shadows bed all clean to go into his kennel for riding... he will get it all messed up again as he gets motion sickness... if he would only take the pills it would help him but no matter how I try he will not take them... I crushed them and put them in cottage cheese no no no he would not eat it!

I trust you will all have a great day...

Wonderful rainy day here at Potter's Creek. I woke up in the night sometime and it was raining. Then again about 4:30 it was raining and it just keeps it up. What a wonderful thing. Would be nice to just keep this up for the next 3 days. Well it is supposed to be off and on and I was thinking more like on all the day and all night.

Hope to get some paperwork completed while it is raining. After the rain, I'll go to the storage and look for my flannel lined jeans. Wow, I forgot about those when I went two weeks ago. Have the sweats and silk turtle necks out and ready to go. Then I hope to get to the photos and get them lined up and uploaded. Speaking of which i had to get my booster out this morning as the cloud cover made transmission just really slow. I think I'll get the information out and get that posted in the Tech section when I do the pictures and things.

Did I say I am loving this rain :D ! Okay, I have several days/weeks of work to get caught up on. So if you are on the road, please be careful. If you are camped somewhere,, anywhere, be having fun. For the rest of you....get planning your next adventure.

More lovely rain coming down!!! Just really am lovin' it!

GOOD MORNING SISTAHS!!!

Nothing much going on here that's for sure. Tho it is a whole lot warmer today than yesterday. Yesterday it was nasty windy and down right chilly. Sat here and the freaking wind blew thru the window where the internet guy ran the wire. Well let me tell you!!! BRRRRRR Out the door I went with duck tape in hand. It's not a pretty job but by goodness I sure did cover and close some holes and it's made a huge difference in the temp in the TT. Been a lazy bum of course as I haven't gotten the plastic up yet. I think the wind is in conspiracy against me? Every dang time I was gonna go do the stupid plastic the *^%$*#& wind would start. GRRRRRR :x Sooner or later I WILL get the plastic up around the windows.

Have got to go get propane today without fail as AmeriGas is closed on Sat & Sun and they are the cheapest place to get refills. And of course is we run out it's always on a weekend. ~sigh~ Last nights dinner was a fend for yourself deal, I think tonight will be too? I am just sick and tired of cooking! Division of labor is good tho, I cook and Kelly does the dishes. Takes a little bit of nagging as she really, really hates to do dishes but she does them!

Suppose to get some snow tonight. We will see if we do. Depending on how much just might have to dig out a pair of boots for my tootsies. Got 2 big warm blankies on the bed so no problem there. ;)

OK, time to scoot, need to wash my hair before I go out in public! Hope everyone no matter where you are or what your doing has fun.

Love to all
