Last Wednesday of November

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Last Wednesday of November

Postby Colliemom » Wed Nov 30, 2011 7:25 am

Morning everyone,

Well, here we are, the last day of November, tomorrow starts the last month of this year and we will be staring a whole new year in the face in a few short weeks again.

It's a clear morning here from what I see at this moment and supposed to be a nice day. The big storm that hit the southern/middle part of the state, missed us altogether, but we did have very strong cold winds from it. Was a rather chilly day to be out yesterday. I finished putting away some odds and ends stuff from the U.P. trip, did a couple of loads of wash, cleaned the guest bathroom and then spent part of the afternoon over at a cousins visiting with her and another cousin. We even played a game for a little while. Quiddler I think it was called. A short word game. Fun.

I got home on Sunday and after being gone for a week, had only 5 calls on my Caller ID here, nobody I needed to return a call to. But when I went to make a call on Monday evening I found out my phone was not working. So online to my cable company, who after a bit of remote checking, scheduled me a tech service call. A little while later it started working again, so i cancelled the service appt. only to find out last night it was doing the same thing again. So now I have another service call scheduled for tomorrow afternoon  First time I have had a problem with the cable services phone system. I needed to hook up a phone to the cable modem in my basement and right now I have a Caller ID halfway up the handrail to my basement and my phone is sitting on the top step of the basement stairs on the hopes I can hear it if it rings  . Not that I get many calls anyway. But just in case. I mean, having a phone sitting on your basement stairs is an everyday thing, right!

And this morning I am waiting for the furnace tech to come at 8:30 and clean and check out my furnace before serious heating season gets here. I have a hot water baseboard system, so he will clean the burners, adjust whatever needs adjusting, check the operation of all the zone valves and my thermostat and I should be all set. Have to make an appt. with a plumber or somebody to check out my bathtub too, cause I have a leak. Another bill

I think after the furnace guy leaves, I am heading to town. I need a new printer, so should go looking for one. Also need a prescription filled and maybe a stop at the other craft store in town and check out the scrapbooking section. Need some more stickers for my scrapbook. Can't go to the one I was thinking of going to, south of me, as they are closed on Wednesday.

So guess I had better get busy here and get dressed etc., before the furnace tech gets here. Hope you all have a wonderful day. Enjoy it, no matter what.

Good Morning !! I am in Fl., enjoyed Liz's sunrise, it was gorgeous, such a large portion of the sky is all lit up.. I don't care what she says, I DID NOT BRING THE COLD WITH ME LOL. This is nothing here , beautiful out and just cool to me. I am soooo glad to be here.

Maggie, has 3 doggie friends or she would like them to be friends right across from us, she does the whining thing when she see others out and she isn't. She'll settle down soon, have to SHOW her the fly swatter, never use it on her, just seeing it works.

Not sure what the day has in store, but it sure to be great, such a beautiful day out there already. Nice walk around some of the town, not all, got to get my walking legs back   Church tonight, and I get to decorate it Friday, Liz informed me, so guess we'll fill the days. Its so much nicer here weather wise then home, so I will enjoy just anything and everything.

Hope you all have a good day, whatever or wherever you are. If you're on the road, take care, hope your weather is good.
I hope I can catch up on the forum, while here. I feel soooo left out, not knowing whats happening with you all.

Have a Super day !!
CArol :)

GOOD MORNING SUE, CAROL, AND ALL!

The cold front is upon us, but it's still nice and warm for me for November!

I put up my house Christmas lights yesterday, and my fake Christmas tree, cooked a turkey soup, and made me a doc appointment with a gastroenterologist for December 13th----the first date available. Molly and I also walked along Shingle Creek and about the housing development here, meeting many fine neighbor people. I am very happy here. I sometimes miss being able to wander out onto my porch, naked as a jaybird, knowing there is no one about but me, but, most of the time, it is sort of nice to know I have people who are nice around and about me. I spent many years after the kids left home being an isolate after school hours, feeling very much alone and lonely and sorry for myself. I don't feel any of those emotions here, other than missing my little Orion. Skype, however, helps that homesickness immeasureably!

Carol, how long will you be at McIntosh Park? I should look to see where it is and perhaps Molly and I could make a day trip visit? Happy to hear you are safely there with Liz---that sure is a beautiful place according to the pics she posts.

I have no clue what today will bring, but I am ready! I hope you all have a great day doing something fun for yourselves!

Happy travels!

Good Morning to All from another very foggy morning in Huatabampito. We got up with thoughts of an early start south this morning. But are now sitting here doing nothing. We may or may not leave here today - depending on when the fog lifts. If it doesn't lift till late we'll stay here another day. If it lifts soon we will start off Don't know where we'll end up - Either Las Glorias right on the beach again - 170 miles away or perhaps all the way to Mazatlan 350 miles. Depends on when/if we get on the road and how the driver feels by the time we get to the turn off to Las Glorias.
Hard to believe it is the last day of November....
I managed to sunburn my nose while we were watching the salvage effort in the harbor - burn it on top of the firt burn - I never remember to put lotion on or bring my hat. Bad me.
Wishing everyone a nice day - weather and travel wise.

Good Morning,

I miss those privacy areas, too, Soos! We had a u-shaped house with a pool in the middle and a fence across the open end.

Life in the desert is pretty much the same every day. This non-morning person is getting up at 6:30 or before so I have time for projects and chores. Quad ride at 10, home for hot tub about 3, d*&^ board game at 6, back to chores and projects (sometimes until 10 p.m). Our weather is about to take a turn so I'm hoping for some 'at home' time! Life's rough. However, I am a person who is happy to just stay home for 2 weeks at a time so all this going eventually turns me into a real nasty person for a day once in awhile.

Christmas cards are done and decorations are up. The colorful Christmas flannel I bought during the Pennsylvania GTG has been turned into a pillowcase and sent to my 2 yo great niece. Grandkids Christmas gifts are on the way - all ordered from Amazon. I still haven't found the box of jewelry I hid before I left for the summer!

Here's hoping we all have a good day!

Good Morning
After 3 long, cold, dark dreary days the rain has stopped and weatherman promises some sunshine before days end. Back in the 60s by Friday and I am so ready for that warm up.
Decided I did want the lights of a Christmas tree after all so dug out an old fake white one I have used in past at one of the antique malls. Didn't realize how much it had yellowed until after I had it together. If the lights are still working by end of the season, will save it to use on porch next year; otherwise this will be its last use. Mostly finished decorating it but needs a little something else. Will play with it later today.
Another round of dog sitting coming up for the first thru the fourth as my friend will be traveling again. She takes a lot of short trips; I'm saving up for long one to FL sometime this winter and she will keep Nicky.
Other than some major grocery shopping, not much planned for the day. Might add a little Christmas shopping to do my part for economic recovery.
Hope every one has a great day.

Good Morning everyone... what a nice group there is for coffee... mine needs a refill please... CArol enjoy your visit!! McIntosh is such a nice place to be... would love to be there for the Christmas time but will not... two years I went to the live nativity how nice that is... hope you can go to that to they have a live camel also and other live animals... singing and refreshments... so nice but dress warm as it may be cold...
I got my x-rays behind me and went to wal-mart for the rv antifreeze and a few other things... the wind was so strong over 35 mph at times... a nice young man helped me out with my things and put them in the car... then he could not figure out how to use the motorized cart... guess he needs to be old to know that one...
Sarah that tree reminds me of one we had years ago... all the rage a white tree... how our tastes change over the years...
My daughter Margie said she would be willing to go to FL with me to help me drive but we could not stop and visit friends along the way as she did not have that much time... Time will tell... it is a good offer but I love my friends along the way... my friend in NC wants me to camp near her so she can come and visit for a few days... oh my choices choices choices...
My daughter and I got the space heater hooked up in the MH... now if Tim gets some time we can start it and go to the place we get batteries and see if they are bad or just run down... then I need to dump the tanks so Mark can winterize the rig... did not think I would have to do that but now that I am here for a while it is a must!
Yes Soos it is so good to have neighbors to visit then you can go home and relax...
Have a great day everyone... the sun is in full force here...

The talk about white Christmas trees reminded me that I have a white ceramic one with colored lights. Have to think of a place to put it. Might have to get some of the earthquake putty to hold the top on the base so the cats don't break it. The top just sits on the base and I'm afraid they might be able to knock it off. They are like having 2 year olds around. Yesterday I found what looked like a chewed up slim jim in the kitchen floor. One of them got in a cabinet and helped herself to a dog treat. Must not have liked it.

This morning I made a gumbo with the broth from the turkey carcass I boiled and froze. Added some chicken and sausage. My guys really liked it. They don't like the lunches the local store has so I have to cook more. I had gotten out of the habit of cooking everyday. Might have to find a job again.
