Yavaros Harbor salvage operation

Just finished two posts with lots of pictures of the salvage operation we've been watching the last couple of day. There are a lot of ships that were sunk/partially sunk in the harbor in 1976 by the hurricane Lisa. Now they are trying to clear the area to make the harbor bigger, safer and cleaner. Very interesting to watch.
We are waiting for the fog to lift so we can get on the road south......begining to look like we might be here another day - already 9:00.

Wow Carol! That's some large, heavy equipment they're trying to get out of the water. I wonder what it will take to get those boats out of the water? But very interesting indeed!

That was neat! Looks like they need an underwater welder to torch some holes in the sides of the ships to let was drain out too. But they could torch the things at least in half to make them lighter too. LOL

It was enjoyable to view! it will be really nice when they get it all done...if they get it all done
some thing like that is fun to watch...our first year at Upper Coffeepot they were going to change out the bladder in the fault toilet...
why they didn't do it after the season was over I never understood....but they brought this crane in and one of the campers set up chairs and
brought out pop and pop corn...and we all gathered about and watched them left the toilet up in the air. What is it about big equipment???
