The Good Ending to Willies Adventure

Updated blog with the conclusion of Willies adventure. We are now in Hermosillo, Sonora, MX - got here just before nightfall. Spent all day getting more paperwork done. There must be 10 less trees now. Had to have three copies of everything. And everything had to be translated and notarized. Thank God for Sanborn's insurance agent Luis.
So Willie is back with us - just weighs a little less with all the stuff gone from him. It can all be replaced - but he is like family.

Can't say enough good stuff about all the people who helped us and how well the police treated us. Taking us back and forth from the Alfa to the station a couple of times. They treated us like we were family. And Luis was wonderful and patient. A great advertisement for Sanborn's Mexican Insurance. Alls well that ends well
Now I'm hitting the sack - tomorrow the beach.

What an experience. Amazing that your car was returned so quickly and in good shape, even if the process to retrieve him was so lengthy. Now, Willie needs more protection. Maybe a break-away cord that sounds a blaring siren!!!

I've had people say that they don't understand the need for getting the MX insurance. You just proved the need - and it's wonderful to hear how great they were for you. Put this adventure behind you now and have a great winter in your Mexican winter wonderland.

On another note - you had lots of paperwork, but I know someone who had a car stolen here in the US - it was found a few days later, and it was quite awhile before they got it back - the police kept saying it was "evidence" even though they hadn't caught the people who stole it. I don't remember paperwork, just a struggle to get it back to them. Always something where ever we are.

And Willie had an adventure he's keeping quiet about - just think if he could talk :)

So glad you are all safe and warm! Was the experience as stressful as the time in 1978 going down the Pan American Hwy when you were crossing that bridge and your RV stalled and bad guys were threatening to push you out of the way down into the brink?! I really enjoyed reading about that trip!! I hope the rest of your journey is wonderful.

That is such good news... now you can unwind and relax... I am still fearful of going to MX...
