Last campout of the season

Postby Paulette » Wed Nov 16, 2011 8:09 am

Yep, going camping this weekend. We declared it a ladies only weekend. There will be 5 of us in 3 rigs and the weather looks like it will be perfect! Not going far...2 hours west of here. We just wanted to get away! Of course, my granddaughter asked me last night why it was adults only; was there going to be bad stuff going on? I assured her that we would behave! Too funny! But I haven't been out since I got back from Texas this summer and want to get one last weekend in before I have her winterized, lubed and the oil changed. Before she sits in my driveway all winter, beckoning me to drive her south or west or anywhere that there isn't snow and cold winds blowing!

I have to admit that I am very jealous of those of you who are able to full time or even most time in your rigs! I still have that dream, but it has to wait on the back burner until my GD heads off to college! Then, color me gone! I get impatient waiting, but realize that I will probably need every minute of this time to get everything in order before I can head out anyway.

So, I just wanted to share my excitement with you all, knowing that you would share it back with me! Knowing that we are all kindred spirits with the same but different aspirations. Thanks for letting me share. I do love living vicariously through all of you that travel and post your pictures and stories along the way. maybe some day I will be able to do the same and inspire someone else to want to hit the road!

Hope you have a great get-away Paulette. Kids don't understand why adults need to have some time away from them...to preserve our sanity!

I remember well the pull of the RV/open road at the times I was stuck at home with commitments. Your day will come, and it's fun planning for that day too.

:) It is nice that she trusts you out in the world on your own.  As you have already experienced :) the high school years do seem to fly by very quickly..... Enjoy all the moments but be sure to get in your own adventures along the way!

YAY, you're getting another weekend out. Have a great time. And like has been said, you have time to plan and be ready for the adventure to come. I think the planning can be a big part of the fun. Come back with lots of stories to share.
