Tuesday Morning

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Tuesday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Tue Nov 15, 2011 8:03 am

Good Morning everyone,

It's Tuesday and the countdown has begun. 5 days and my friend Brenda and I will be heading north. I know, I know, some of you think we are crazy and should be heading south instead  But we are really looking forward to doing something entirely different. I haven't been up in that part of the U.P. in November before and she hasn't been up to that part of the U.P. at all.

I have a 14 lb. turkey in the freezer (give us turkey to make all kinds of stuff with the lefovers) and am boxing up stuff to take along. Starting to get my clothes ready and will be packing up in a couple days or so. Got a load of washing going right now. My laundry room is near the bedrooms, so when I get up. on my way to the kitchen, I toss in a load. That way it's washing away while I am having breakfast. Will do dog beds tomorrow and one last load on Thursday. Brenda will be here on Friday, so don't know what we will be getting into once she's here. Want to get that stuff out of the way.

Okay, okay, I am quitting the cleaning :P At least for a couple of days. Will run the vacum around the house though. The weather is supposed to be cooler and snow showery these next two days, so will move into my front bedroom, starting putting stuff in the suitcases etc., and clean my other bedroom so it will be all sent for Brenda. And I have that workshop thing to attend on Thursday afternoon as part of my unemployment requirements. Anyway, look at the little treasure you found BJ. Otherwise it wold still be in the box. So my passing on the cleaning bug helped you out. Course later on you might be cursing having found it cause it means another object to dust

Reading all the posts from yesterday's Morning Coffee, it looks likke all we do on this forum is eat, eat, eat :) Beth, your Thanksgiving dinner sounds good. Carol, bet you would have liked to have joined Kyle with the whipped cream. That is way too cute. And it was indeed good that you were holding his hand. Did you take him back later for desert so he could put a big dollop on it?

You and I have the same dream Carol. Wonder when we can get it off the ground. I figure it will be two years before I get out there unless I retire earlier than I plan. And now this morning they give us the grand news that gas prices are rising. Oh joy  Would you pull your trailer out West?

Well all, I guess it's time to get rolling here. Not sure where today is going to lead. Have a half a notion to take a ride south (only 50 miles, not to FL  ) to a craft store and pick up some items I want so I can make a Winter Welcome sign later on. I bought home a bunch of old picnic table boards from the park that we were going to throw out and they have weathered nicely on the undersides Make nice weather welcome signs or something. In my garage for now. Winter project.

So have a wonderful day all. Don't work too hard cleaning :D If you are on the road, safe travels. Those who are having health issues, I hope you are feeling better, get your rest, follow your doctors orders and you will be up and around before you know it.

GOOD MORNING SUE AND ALL!

My first morning back at my FL home, and it's beautiful-----warm it is! Supposed to meet with bug people today for my annual inspections and all. I won't need the Bighthouse (internet, cable TV Phone) people as it's now all up and running. Tomorrow is my SS pay day, so I will be able to pay bills for all these expenses. I'm hoping to go back to the pool today, get some more sun and swim!

I will be looking for bike trailers online today, also, to see which I might get so I can compete with Alice! I have no lawn care to do here, no trimming----just a bit of weeding around my roses and the palm trees where I planted stuff. It's very hard for me to believe I don't need to constantly run a lawnmower down here as I do at home!

I will pump up my bike tires today and ride to the pool. Molly and I will also take our walk near Shingle Creek in the woods over there....I hope it's as nice as it always was.

I am doing my first load of clothes in my antiquated washing machine and dryer, and, so far, all is well after the several visits by the repair guys last year! I think the man got the message that I really wanted to make the old machine work rather than just purchase a newer, more flimsily built one. And he finally fixed it well so it leaks no more!

The old dog who used to bark continuously last year and for years before must have passed onto a different dimension, thank heavens for her. The few times she got free last year from her prison in the garage on a rope, she had a lot of difficulty walking. The neighbors estimated her age to be at least 15 years. Neighbors had called animal people tons of times, but they always found adequate care for her. Not in my book. It broke my heart to hear her bark and bark and suffer over there.

May you all have a fun day wherever you are and whatever you are doing. I will be here at the house until Thursday morning when I will head back to the trailer at St.Cloud to cat sit for a week plus a few days.
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning everyone... Sue and Soos and everyone yet to post... we have bright sunshine...
I am doing so much better... no pain when I get up now... but I cannot understand the fatigue... the doctor called and my vitamin D levels are seriously low so they put me on 5,000 UI ... that is a huge amount and I do not want it to poison me... enough of that already..
Sue will you have a cabin or what to stay in... will you cook up there... it sounds like such an adventure... when I worked in the UP they closed it off to us by this time of year... afraid we would get snow bound...
Cleaning is a bad word around here... have not done any since I came home from the north... what a shame!
would love to dip my toes in the water Soos... not a swimmer anymore...
I trust you all will have a great day...

Good morning Sue, Soos, Kathleen & everyone!

Sue, your trip to the UP is going to be so nice. I can't wait to hear all about it.

Soos, it sounds like you are getting yourself settled in your house and will soon be relocating to Orlando. Enjoy the warmer weather there.

Kathleen, I am so glad you are beginning to feel better and hope the vitamins help with your being so tired.

It's great seeing that Echo has posted and hopefully is feeling better.

It was sunny here in MD but the skies are starting to cloud over. We have rain moving in later this afternoon, into tonight and all day tomorrow. But at least the temperatures are mild.

Everyone on the roads, be safe. To those suffering with trials and tribulations in your life, I am holding all of you up in prayer. Take care & have a good day!

Getting ready to head out for the Texas GTG in the morning. I actually ironed some jeans, not that they will look ironed after being stuffed in my RV closet. Need to go get my groceries and load up today. No matter how ready I think I am it seems like I have to make 50 trips to my motorhome before I can get on the road. There is some rain in Texas headed this way. I will probably be able to fool around until I have to go to town in the rain. It's warm today but will probably be cooler after the front comes through.

Morning, ladies!

Haven't stuck my nose outside yet, but don't need a weatherman to tell me it's wet and cold. It is November..
Just finishing up my breakfast and will leave here soon for bowling. Not sure what my problem is this year, but I'm really terrible. Good thing I have forgiving teammates.

Went to Jenny Craig yesterday and talked with my consultant about my cholesterol results. She was flabbergasted as JC allows 90 mg of cholesterol in their food and the US guidelines say we can have up to 300. Something isn't adding up. I left JC and went back to my cardio Dr's office and asked if I could have the blood test done again, and they agreed. We'll see if it comes back any different.

Ali is in heaven with her BFF finally arriving from WA.
Soos, glad your FL home got thru the summer in good shape. You sound sooo happy!
Sue, you, too, sound excited for your trek up north with your friend. 5 days will fly by and you'll be on the road.
I'm still not sure what my Thanksgiving plans are. My DD is flying to Illinois to run in a race with some cousins the day before, and works the day after, but unless the rest of her family are going somewhere special, I'll go hang with them.

Got an email this AM that my nephew's wife has been moved to hospice and they almost lost her last night. Looks like the 2 mons. the Dr talked about isn't going to happen. Continued prayers for the family, please.
Special prayers going up for Mitch.

Ok, need to scoot! Take care everyone.

Kath, so glad to hear it sounds like the shots worked! You deserve to be pain free, or at least with less pain if not "free". Now hopefully they can get your energy back without overdosing you!

Lenora, was your cholesterol up from a previous check? Must have missed when you wrote about it. I am bringing mine down - not sure what I'm doing that's working - but believe it's by eating some of the "good fats" and a diet really, really heavy on fruits and vegies. The fruits and vegies part is a little more difficult now - as they were all fresh this summer. Even the apples I'm buying now are mushy. Yuck. Oh, and in reading, they say apples should be eaten on an empty stomach - so started doing that this summer - an apple first thing every morning. Not sure, but over the summer what I did worked, just not sure which components. Hoping over the winter it keeps working - otherwise, I don't know what I did  Good luck with figuring out between your numbers and any possible correlation to your Jenny Craig diet. I wonder- their prepared foods have a lot of additives? Just wondering?

Dinner last night was good. A local restaurant catered it - turkey, ham, mashed taters, green beans, corn, dressing, 3 kinds of pie. Yep, I needed a nap after eating, not another 5 hours to work!

Peaches has been in the water with all of Tina's dogs and they intend to meet up again in a bit. Peaches is never sure how t play - but loves having the others around. It's fun to watch them interact. I see Tina outside with hers - she met another lady here walking her dog - hers are definitely enjoying the area.

Tina, Molly and I will meet up later for dinner. I checked with Vickie and I believe she'll be off on Thursday night, so we'll try to all get together then, too.
