Windy sunny Saturday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Windy sunny Saturday

Postby Redetotry » Sat Nov 12, 2011 9:37 am

Feels like the March winds blowing out there the last few days and it makes it feel a lot colder than 48 brrr went out with the first dog in a sweater and changed to a coat, hat a scarf for the next two! We have a fenced yard but my spoiled group think the should have individual walks in the morning after breakfast. Guess they think I need the exercise ;)

All is well in computer/phone land this morning. The nice computer man came yesterday, no virus thank goodness and he knew why my iPhone wouldn't accept our wi-fi password, he had wired my computer direct to the modem so the wi-fi was actually coming from the router so...needed the router password instead of the modem password. ACK!!! at least I think that is what he said, anyway it all works fine now. Oh, the warning message from Skype was a spam thing so he fixed it and now I don't get messages from people I don't know. And he did all this for free, think he felt bad that he hadn't told me about the the change in set up.

We had dinner with my DB last night and he had on a beautiful wool Pendleton shirt. I asked where the store was located that he bought it out and when he told me the town I whipped out my iPhone and asked Siri the location and poof up popped a map and the address. He was totally surprised but said emphatically that he did not want one.

Time for the next course of breakfast and then to the farmers market, it goes here until the last Sat of Nov. Have a safe, fun day everyone.

We have had some very windy weather here too and more branches have come down...mostly the hangers that have been threatening to fall. Today my brother is coming over to back my trailer into the garage. I will not even attempt that, at least not this year, until I am better at backing. I sure hope I measured correctly...there is about a 4" difference between the garage depth and the trailer length - not much room for error... :o

All in all, we have had some beautiful weather in my part of New York - windy but sunny and relatively warm - 60's -- so no one here can complain. The nights get cool but a warm down comforter can fix that!

Good Morning it is sunny and 51 will top out near 60... I have had a real rough two days... Thursday morning 6:45 they did gave me 4 or 5 injections in my spine and one or two in my right hip... was ok when I first got out of the procedure room... had a cup of apple juice, cup of coffee got dressed and they said to my daughter I could stop and have breakfast if I wanted to... had a nice breakfast was a bit numb in my bottom but they said I would have that because of the nerve ... I got home and had a huge reaction for a day and a half to the steroids the injected with other med... cold sweats and horrid headache... this morning I am up and have toast and cream of wheat and coffee... could only eat a bit of it but it tasted very good... I am hoping this is the last of the treatments but they say they may have to do one or two more... I will think of that for a long time before I do it again...
My daughter Margie fixed an antenna up so I could watch tv... that will help for a few days as I take it easy...
We had 25 degrees on Friday morning so here's hoping the MH did not suffer damage as I had not winterized... will go out maybe tomorrow and drain the water heater...
It looks like a go for the latter part of December for me... Tim got a B on a test so he is hoping to graduate with the class on Dec 17... He has moved into the Fuel house on campus and will live there at least until June... I think it is a good move for him... I believe there are 3 or 4 apartments in there and he shares one in the basement with another fella... they all go through extensive checks to be sure they do not do drugs or drink... a couple of weeks ago the campus had a rally and many parties the guys in the Fuel house sold grilled cheese sandwiches hoping that the fellas would have something inside them besides drink... they made a good sum of money which will help with the house.
My youngest grandchild turns 13 on the 14th... she is going through her usual ups and downs but now that they have their own house it is much easier on her mom... my daughter Jackie has a tendency to be very lax in her parenting skills and does not want people telling her what to do...
It is so good to sit back and not have the responsibility but enjoy watching them go through the times we could not enjoy because of being in the thick of things... ah and life goes on...
It sounds like a nice thanksgiving will be had by most of our group... Soos made it to Fl in good shape I am so happy for her... Red I hope the farmers market holds many good vegetables... they sound so good after a cold snap... one year we even had fresh tomatoes, green beans and carrots from our small garden at Thanksgiving in Michigan... wow Carol I would say 60 are great for NY in November...
Have a great day everyone...

Morning all (stil AM here),

Sorry to hear Zee lost her furbaby, Joe. Paulette, hope your furnace gets fixed ASAP. Kathleen, sorry your injections gave you such an adverse reaction. Hope you get feeling better soon.

I watched my two youngest GDs overnight on Thursday night. On Friday the 11 yr old went home because she was going to stay with her friend and ride horses, but the 9 yr old wanted to stay with her Grammy so I had her until this AM. Yesterday we shopped the mall, again. It's her favorite thing and I needed the exercise. We did our 5 hrs  I let her try on high heels at the Nordstroms big shoe sale. She found out that a women's size 4 just about fits her so we tried on every pair they had set out. We then shopped the rest of the mall and I bought her a new winter coat and then back to Nordstroms for more shoe trying (the same shoes over and over, the higher the heel, the better)! I was pretty beat when we got done and came home.

When we arrived home I had a ph mssg from my cardio Dr's office. Seems my cholesterol didn't go down and she wants me on meds. I am so bummed as every other time I've lost weight my counts went down, too. I want to blame someone/something, but don't know what/who!

When my SIL picked up my GD this AM on his way home from work, he stayed long enough to clean the roof of my house off and put on moss control. He's such a great SIL!

Then I get an email from my sister letting me know our nephew's wife, Nicole, who's been fighting cancer for 4 mons, was back in the hospital and they were taking her off all chemo and giving her 2 mons to live. If you might remember, her cancer was a rare form that started on the outside of her female organs. The removed the tumor and her female parts and started chemo. Her insurance wouldn't cover the chemo cause they said it was experimental since the Dr was going the route of lung cancer treatment as they had had some good reports. But alas it wasn't helping her. Oh, and in the midst of all this, Paul, my nephew, gets layed off from BP. Please remember them all in your thoughts and prayers. This is my sister, Pam's, family. It's been a year ago last May that she passed at age 57. So the family has been hit hard.

Now the sofa is calling and I'm answering. Take care all!

Lenora
Hope your family comes out okay. You never know with cancer so keep your hopes up. As for your cholesterol, you may be able to blame your ancestry and DNA as food is not the only culprit and medication may really be needed beyond what you can do. Be glad they have it.

GOOD DAY ALL!

I have been so busy basking in the sun, paddling Goog's canoe, organizing and sorting through stuff in the trailer and packing some stuff into the truck to take to the house on Monday, that I had no idea of the time! It's been in the 80s today---wonderful breeze, no humidity, all in all, just PERFECT!

The kids had to go shopping for shoes for Weldon for the upcoming wedding. They left at noon, and still aren't back at almost 4:00! They are both a bit nervous, I noticed, last night! I sure hope things go as planned for them.

Monday I will head to my house to meet with bug patrollers, get my mail started up again, clear off the lawn of dead palm fronds and branches, etc., and visit the pool!

Kath I sure hope those shots do the trick without causing you any more nasty reactions----do they have to use the steroids? Stay in touch and let us know how things are going.

Lenora, I, too, have been on anti-cholesterol meds for what seems like an eternity, and, nomatter what my diet or how much I weigh, my genes keep me high in fats. ACK! I am so sorry for your sister's family----what a long, difficult chain of events for them all.

I'm glad the breeze down here is just a pleasant breeze and not a wind. And, of course the 80 degree temps make it so wonderful!

Zee lost a dog? I guess I need to read more posts. I feel so horrible for her, as I know how she dotes on her fur kids.

I am going to send good thoughts to everyone this afternoon.

Happy travels!

Not much new here. Finally get a Saturday off, and it is raining. Gonna be lazy today (nothing new).

Just got off the phone with my dad. He is still at the nursing home but is doing great with his rehab for his new hip. He might be going home on Monday. It sounds like my brothers are doing their part to help him too, so that is a pleasant surprise!

Glad Soos, that you made it to your other home safely. I am sure you will find lots of new things to keep you busy for the winter down there!

So sorry to hear of BarbZee's dog. (I also don't know the details). So many dogs crossing over lately

I better run over to the store and get some cat food for Lola and a few other things for me. Have a good day!
Barbie, Romeow, and Sophie, missing Lola! (and lots of ferrets running around in my heart!)
