I like Mitch's idea. A lot less work and you can pass out after dinner.

Liz, you better not let them find out how good you can cook in your half time oven. ;)

I like the way you think, Mitch!! :D It all sounds good, especially like Anita's idea of the casino...food and gambling....perfect day!

Yeah, Liz, good idea to keep your mouth shut about what you can do in that oven, someone may put you in charge of something!

Ummmm....yeah....look directly under the stove...should be a door you can pull down. If not, look directly above the stove...there could possibly be a convection/microwave. Might even be a manual somewhere in your coach that tells you how to use it. If you're interested...

     oh you ladies are too much!

No RV trips for me. Winter is here. I will be heading north for the entire week of Thanksgiving with a friend the campground host from Otsego). We will be staying at Maple Ridge Resort west of Marquette in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. http://www.mapleridgeresort.net. My friend has never been up to that part of the U.P. before and she is really looking forward to it. Hopefully if we can get some cooperation from mom nature, I plan to show her some ofthe sights up there. If not, we will be staying at the resort and eating and eating and eating

We're torn for Thanksgiving....Usually, we round up the folks in the CG and head for the mess hall to celebrate with the troops...This year we've been invited to friends for 'Turkey Day", but the campground is booked full and although most are active duty troops with families here or they have plans already, we still have retired military, so will probably give our regrets to the friends, and "Convoy" to the mess hall again....It does save me from cooking.... ;) And no clean-up..... ;) :D

I have both in mine, but tend to use the microwave more often. It's nice to have the oven, though, especially if I want to bake muffins or cinnamon rolls for breakfast. It's a great way to heat the trailer, make it smell good, AND end up with something delicious. :)

I'll be going to Monterey with a good friend. We'll have dinner with her cousins -- a big group. While she's visiting other folks I'll get to wander around Carmel. Not too shabby! And I'll probably get a turkey loaf with some of the fixings to make after we get home so I can have left-overs. LOVE them!

Right now we are still in Salt Lake City with DH not feeling well...not sure what the total root of the problem is but think it has to do with the prostrate cancer went amok and so he isn't feeling well ..till he does feel better we are here IF we are here will join with one of our kids I believe. We haven't been here for a couple of years for Thanksgiving...Last year we went to Parker to the buffet and it's not bad at all but the down side is that there is no leftovers! or we may fix something at home will see what happens. We just won't know until we leave

I had planned on Thanksgiving dinner with my SIL ... who was supposed to drive from SLC to St. George yesterday. I called today to make lunch plans, and she told me she had fallen and broken her hip in three places. Two more days in the hospital, then it's off to a rehab facility (is that what they call nursing homes now?).

I guess that's the long version of "I don't know what I'm doing for Thanksgiving." No RV trip, for sure. I may head to Salt Lake and spend some time with SIL. Over the past year she and I have become much closer.

Never mind in the RV, I didn't have an oven in my house for almost a year! Laura, when you go oveer the hill to Carmel from Monterey look up to the right above the highway just as you come into Carmel and you'll see my old house! Have fun there, my sister lives in Monterey. I need to get out there sometime this year! Wendy

My son and daughter-in-law-to-be are flying to Costa Rica to get married over the Thanksgiving holidays, so it will be just me and Molly from my family here. However, my friend, Pete, from the ORS group has invited me to his campsite (his winter home, so to speak) for a feast over there, and it's only a few miles from here (St. Cloud) where I will be cat sitting for the kids. I am happy to accept that invitation, as Thanksgiving all alone doesn't appeal to me much.....although I have spent many of them over the years since my parents died. I will bring something to contribute to the dinner....wish I had packed more frozen wild blueberries, but I left those for Mandy to make her jams and jellies for her Christmas presents. However, I can make some apple crisp and bring some vanilla ice cream to put on top of it. I just hope they will have a way to heat it up so it will be hot for dessert. Thanks, Pete!

After over 30 years with no stove or oven in my house (my oven caught on fire one Thanksgiving while I was cooking a turkey, and burned the entire appliance up----a really nice Jennaire stove and oven with a grill for cooking inside alll winter.) as I never replaced the burned up one. I HATE cooking, so I made do with my microwave, a stove-top electric oven thingy, a toaster oven, and a camping propane burner for the stove top!

Now I find myself with a new stove/oven in my Orlando house, and a stove/oven in my camper! I am so used to zapping frozen suppers that I sometimes forget I could actually bake something, if I wanted to! Mandy and Joe are dealing with my setup back in my winter homewhen they stay there! Perhaps they will see fit to try to find a stove for the place!

Home alone, which means lots of time for sleeping, cleaning, sorting, and of course, grading papers. Four wonderful days without having to go anywhere!

I might get myself some crab legs and other treats for Thanksgiving. Not sure what yet. Might even take some time to make those cinnamon rolls in the recipes section. Looking forward to some peaceful quiet time without having to cook much.
