As usual, going to the sand dunes at Mammoth Wash, just out of Niland. My GF cooks the turkey in the BBQ and I'm in charge of rolls, pie and cranberry sauce. I used to be in charge of the potatoes, too, but that got given to someone else, thank goodness! I used to bring the breadmaker and make rolls from scratch, but that was for my hubby....he said it was the best part of the meal. Now it's Pillsbury Crescents.
I still make the pumpkin pie from scratch, tho. Gotta keep some part of the tradition alive. Leaving on the 20th or so, be back the Monday after. I'm anxious to see if the new antenna Birdie got me to buy will work out there. Usually have to get up high on a dune to get out. Not that I miss it all that much, but would be nice to be able to get online and see what ya'll are up to.
Irmi, I used to brine the turkey, too, sure does make for moist white meat.
