MONDAY AT FREDERICKSBURG KOA

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

MONDAY AT FREDERICKSBURG KOA

Postby Nasoosie » Mon Nov 07, 2011 7:41 am

GOOD MORNING ALL!

I am at the Fredericksburg KOA this morning---electricity and cable TV and a pretty spot. I usedmy electric heater last night and Molly and I stayed very cozy. I am starting later this morning to avoid the commuter traffic inRichmond, about an hour, or less, down the road. I am eating some Yogurt, as my stomach has been nasty the [past several days, and still is, as a matter of fact.

Plans are to get to Fayetteville/Wade KOA for tonight, if there is room. I'll call as soon as I get off here.

This morning, I need to dump porta potty down sewer pipe here on the site, unhook TV cable, unhook electricity, grease hubs on trailer, and head for the gas station on Route 1 which leads back to 95. Hope the traffic is etter on 95 today than it was yesterday afternoon when I got on there!

I will try to get on the chatroom tonight---was too tired last night to wait that extra hour we got yesterday. :(

Happy trails---I will be glad to get back to my FL home!

Bright Cheery Monday Morning

Postby Colliemom » Mon Nov 07, 2011 7:59 am

A Bright Cheery Morning to you all,

The sun is shining, the sky is blue and the temps are mild. Going to be a great day in Northern Michigan. Got to enjoy these beautiful days while we have them.

Been a bit busy around here the past few days, doing some outside chores befor the "seasonal change". Cleaned a summer's worth of dirt, wood chips and what not out, from hauling camping gear and firewood around, out of the inside of my truck's bed, gave the interior a cleaning and washed the truck. So now it's all set for the trip north in two weeks. Course the outside will get dirty again before then  Got all my leaf blowing done except for the remaining leaves that are now coming down with the wind we have been having, so will make one more pass over the yard later on.

Saturday I went down to Camping World for tire covers for my TT. They were having a sale and it was getting to the end of it. With my President's Club membership, I was able to buy a set of tire covers and get the second set free. For $27.00 plus tax, that was indeed a good deal. Didn't buy anthing else since my TT is put away for the season and I don't need anything right now. Figured if I decide to head south later this winter, that I can get what I need then. Then I went a picked up a friend who lives down that way, and we went out for lunch. She just had a knee replacement done, and is doing very well. We always enjoy each others company. After lunch, went back to her place for a bit and yakked before I headed for home.
So it was a nice day.

My nice neighbor came over yesterday afternoon and installed a new security light on the peak of my garage for me as the other one was no longer working. Sure was nice having some light in the back yard last night after ra year of being in the dark. I didn't bother replacing it this summer with the longer days and shorter nights. I do have lights on the house in back, but that light throws out more light. Can see the dogs better when they are out in the yard, not that they are going anyplace with the fence. Was thinking that maybe next year I might start replacing my older coach lamps as well.

So now we are into Monday. Might take a ride this morning up to Burt Lake State Park and see my old second in command boss who is now supervisor up there before the weather gets nasty. And let the dogs enjoy a walk in the park one more time while the weather is nice. Rain moivng in tomorrow and some cooler weather as well. Have a little work to do to finish up the shrub covers I am making, but can do that later today.

Sounds like Soos is rolling along on her trip south. She should have clear sailing ahead from what I have seen of the weather forecasts.

So everyone, I wish you all a wonderful day. If you are on the road, safe travels and good weather to you also.

Another beautiful but cool morning.

Yesterday before I finished coffee, LeRoy called with the suggestion we get ready quickly, drive to Buckeye for church and then we could do our shopping. Got to the church right on time for 9:30 mass - too bad they don't hold church there anymore!! He wasn't too impressed since that was the info on the website - and every other thing I could google about them! Turns out they meet at a school across town which we never did find because we didn't have the name of it.

We drove on to Goodyear and had breakfast at the Golden Corral and then had plenty of places to shop!! I was having a grand time, but I was then reminded we had to hurry and finish because we were due back at the park for 4 o'clock dinner with his friend! And then we played that *#&%# board game with friends - at least we girls won a couple times!

We picked up electrical wire to wire my EMS (electrical management system) into my 5er plus the water filter system for my 5er. Hopefully while he gets that done today, I will finally get the laundry at least started!

Soos will feel like a pro when she completes this trip - wishing her and everyone on the road continued safe travels

Good Morning Soos, Anita and everyone else... KOA's used to be a nice place to stop but it has been years since I went to one...
I got a call from the doctor's office and it is good to go on Thursday morning for the injections...
The wind is gone today and it is cloudy... my neighbor is raking her leaves again for the 3rd or 4th time... I was hoping the wind would blow all of mine away but no luck just swirled them around!
Later today I will go to the store and refill my pain med just to be sure...
Take care driving everyone that is headed out...
May you all have a good day...

Absolutely a gorgeous day here in KY. Sun is shining, had to take my jacket off on Peaches and my walk. Course that was because I decided to climb a steep hill - which my entire body argued about. Level ground, I can walk forever, but a dingy hill in my path and I'm panting and cussing :)

Weird here this year. I put out a bird feeder as soon as I got here, and so far not a single bird to it. Are they so full that they don't even look for feeders? Up until today I would have said they weren't around, but the good weather has birds all around the surrounding area. I've seen a pileated woodpecker, crows, the gbh (great blue heron) and some others on the water, but the birds that would come to the feeder, have stayed on the other sides of the park. Strange. I migbt leave with all the food I put in it.

So nice to have the door open and the air blowing in. My temp guage is telling me it's 59 out there - but the sun shining brightly is making it feel warmer. I'll take it.

Safe traveling Soos and those others on the road. Fun settling in for you still, Anita - and just be safe, everyone, where ever you are. Kath, I hope the injections help a LOT for you.

Soos, give a shout when you get down in our area. Since you are driving I-95 avoid the Point South KOA north of Savannah. We stopped there on the way home last week. Quoted one price on the phone and charged us almost double the next morning at checkout. Long story, but not somewhere I would stop again even at a lower price.

Didn't read this message in time, but it was in the spot I had chosen for a stop anyway. My daughter and I had stayed there last June on our way back north, and I hadn't remembered how loud the trafic was there. Anyhone know what Savannah South KOA is like? That was only another 50 or 60 miles further on,and I am thinking that might be a better stop next time.
