Kd, I look at cactus all the time, but I refrain from taking photos because they would be 'just cactus'. However, I think I just changed my mind after seeing these and reading the captions! Thanks for a smile at the end of the day!!

Fifi L'amour!!!   Don't ya just love the desert? I personally think the sunsets and sunrises are the most beautiful in the US. I love trees, but for some reason they're just not as peaceful to me as the desert is. You can just be. Thank you!

Yes, I can't quite put my finger on it, but I am so relaxed, all day long...no angst to go somewhere...just a peace. I saw deer today a couple hundred yards from me and my daily visits from quail, antelope squirrel, hummingbirds and the birds of prey that swoop in trying to eat my little quail buddies.

Yea, I 've been keeping an eye out for them but haven't seen one yet. I noticed the hummingbird has a different little noise than my Washington coast type...has four little beats to it, I have only seen the one type of hummer...the "black-chinned hummer"

Now I know I'm not crazy. When I used to make the drive from San Diego to Tucson I would mentally dress the cactus up in little cowboy hats and guns. Passed the time on the long drive. Never understood people who thought the desert was boring - you just have to look a little harder to see the great verity.

Love the pictures and captions. I remember a long long time ago when we were driving through the desert I thought there were people out there watching us. My Mom couldn't convince me they were cactus.
And I love the desert - Where we live in Indiana the trees are just too close - here you can see forever.

Years ago my bucket list included seeing the ocean, mountains and those particular cacti. I am blessed to have not only have seen them, but played in, on and around them! Love the post! Please keep us smiling! :D
