Made it to Deming today with absolutely no drama. Amazing! Maybe the drama fairy has gone to visit someone else! A little wind this morning, but ran out of it in El Paso. The usual mess there, tho. I thought being Saturday that traffic would be lighter. Silly me.

One of our members, Robi, is in Deming. I have been following her blog and talked to her a few times when she was in San Diego, and even tho we tried to GTG, we just couldn't make it work out. So I called her from Van Horn last nite and yup, she was still here. I pulled in here about 3 and we've had a very nice time visiting. Lovely girl! Had dinner together, she provided the pork chops and I provided my culinary skills. Chewy "errrr'd" at her and the Sam cat jumped in her lap. Nice little park, very plain, but has 50A and full HU for 12.50 a nite. Worked for me! 5 miles off the freeway, so it's very quiet. Forgot to take pictures.

Off tomorrow to probably Gila Bend, Az...home is getting closer and closer.

im sure that park was about as picturesque as the rest of the town,, as Deming,, (as I remember)is not much of a "garden spot"... but the price sounds AWESOME! My kind of stopover!

happy travels,,,

Good going girl. Should have gone around El Paso. Great road and you end up in New Mexico about 8 or 10 miles south of Las Cruces. What park did you stay at in Deming? Deming is a better stop than Lordsburg. But Lordsburg has better gas prices. Hope you have a continued dull and boring, (read that as non-dramatic) safe journey. You will be home in another day. You will be wondering why you ever thought it would be forever. Looks like you will beat November 1 date!!!!

Looks like you are making great progress toward home. Stay safe and have a dull trip the remainder of the way.

What road??? Didn't know there was any way around that place. It wasn't to bad, 1 accident on my side off to the side, and another one a mile later on the other side. I've seen it worse!

The park is the Stagecoach. It's so new they don't even have a web site yet, but they're working on it. I told the owner folks would pay a little more for wifi, but his answer was...he doesn't want to skin folks. The bathrooms, showers and laundry are new. All pull thru's. The Valero a mile from the park had the cheapest rates I saw. Lordsburg or Deming. I didn't really need fuel, but at 30 cents pg cheaper than on the freeway, I topped off.
