Real... or Store Bought?

I don't know; what do you think...real or store bought? At least I have another gal here to talk to...

This is a required photo for all who visit Quartzsite. His friends intention upon building this memorial to him was red white and blue rocks since Hadji Ali devoted his life to support the US military

This explains Hadji Ali but doesn't mention the Legend of the Camel he let loose that is supposed to roam the desert with a ghostly corpse on his back...

Store-bought, for sure!! BEAUTIFUL pics, Kathy! What a super camping site that is! You have really found some spectacular spots in your travels. Are you painting some of those scenes yet? Or writing a travel/camping book with your own painted illustrations?? I can't wait to get a signed copy!

Happy travels!

Are you sure you didn't steal my pics and repost? Just kidding, but I have those pics. What you are missing is the nekkid bookseller. Have you been there yet.

I LOVE the desert. Love where you are parked - reminds me of when I was there.

Sue,
I have been settling in and getting my "painting area" set up outside, so I can make a giant mess. Hopefully a few might turn out. I thought I should write too while I am here since I don't plan to spend a ton of money shopping in town...just gonna hang in the desert. I am going to enjoy all the secrets of the desert, I get a kick out of what other people may find mundane...like critters, plants, sights and sounds..etc.

Beth,
I guess it's easy to duplicate other peoples desert photos since the terrain provides pretty much the same photo op in each direction. That's kinda the charm, I think. I imagine desert sunsets will get most of the camera time. Very pleasant and so peacful...hope I don't go crazy and start stripping off my clothes like the book store guy. I haven't seen him yet...don't know if I can handle that...I guess you're not supposed to handle it.

Great pictures..When did you start this journey? You certainly do spend lots of time smelling the roses, playing with the critters, making natural discoveries, I'm pretty darn jealous  Glad you're back..you can't send too many pics, even if someone else has captured it and posted some of us could have missed it. I also like where you are parked. Is this in a regular rv park with hookups?

The nearest hookup is four miles away...but dry camping in remote spots is my favorite thing to do. Although this is in a LTVA outside of Quartzsite AZ where hundreds of dry campers are going to arrive in Jan and Feb...most won't come up as far up as I am, and if they do I will probably welcome someone to gawk at. It's so peaceful and a good way to stash money in the bank...it's virtually free....just groceries, gas, propane and an initial fee of $180 to camp here from Sept to April...I am in for the long haul, gonna test my endurance...
