Just a beautiful sunrise out there this morning.



Birds are calling for breakfast and I am ready for a walk. Will have coffee, Taste of San Antonio, when I get back.

Top of the morning to you too Birdie...I see the sun rises magnificently other places than outside my window! Nice pic. Makes you want to get up and out early so you don't miss it.

The sandhill cranes were calling outside my rv this morning. Couldn't see them, but sure could hear them. And the red-shouldered hawk & mate are perched in their favorite tree. Many other unidentified songbirds are singing too. Bandit is out in his screen room...it's his favorite time of day.

I'm very worried about Roe. He can barely balance standing up and when he walks, he leans to one side into the harness so hard that if I let go, he'd fall over. It's like he's trying to walk on the two legs on the right side. Laura gave me information about a ramp at PetSmart, so will go there today to see if that will help us get in and out of the RV. The article I read online says that the surgeries available are rarely successful, so I need to have another talk with the vet and perhaps get a second opinion.

I go back to my audiologist today for a new hearing test and to discuss hearing aids and phones.

Good Morning Birdie and Liz,

Beautiful pictures the two of you have posted these past couple of mornings. Looks way better than it does outside my window this morning. Gray skies and rain threatening, although it seems to be disappating here. Most seems to be going to the south of me. Doesn't matter though, as I don't have anythng thatneeds doing outside right now.

Did finish washing the windows on the house yesterday and also went over and did a few for my next door neighbor lady. Took my package back to UPS to ship to LL Bean for exchange. Di a bit of browsing in a couple of sporting goods places to see what hey had out in winter wear stuff. Have my eye on a quilt lined shirt at one of them, may go back and get it as it's on sale right now. Be good for those cool camping days or whatever.

Looks like today will be a shopping day here. Need a few things and also want to go to Hobby Lobby. They are having sales as is their usual thing and scrapbooking stuff is marked 50% off. Want to stock up on some small letters. Will be taking the scrapbook and all the new stuff along on my week long trip to the U.P. in a bit over two weeks. The nights will be getting longer, so we will be in working on that, my friend crocheting etc. and I will have this computer with me, so will keep in touch with the happenings going on around this site. Am really looking forward to heading north and am counnting the days.

Breakfast was poached eggs, bacon and orange juice. Have eggs, bacon, juice, cereal and bread for toast here if anybody wants to stop by and chat. Have to bring your own coffee however, as I don't drink the stufff.

Liz, that doesn't sound like a torn ligament to me, but something neurological or to do with inner ear balance. I think a second opinion would be wise, and make sure they check his ears while they are at it. Something could have crawled in there. I am worried with you today.

The Aurora Borealis last night was a spectacular show, and the news says even people in the south could view it! Mandy got an email from a fellow professor about it, and we both went into the yard with Orion in carry to view the sky. While watching the waving, leaping, silent "flames" in the sky, a lone coyote decided to howl, making it a top-notch performance! I hope some of you got a chance to see it----it's been a few years since I have seen such a pretty and vivid display. I'm glad Orion got to be a part of it, although, for him, the experience was probably nothing more than a break in his "routine" and a blast of cold air under a sparkly, dark sky.

I can't seem to log on to ORS this morning, so I can't post over there. Perhaps later will work. In the meantime, stop by here and tell us about your doings while sharing some coffee. Molly and I will go for a walk around the ponds again.

Morning all....

The sunrise is beautiful Birdie... would love to see that in the mornings... Its foggie here again, but that means it will be nice this afternoon.. If fall stays like this for a week or two it would be nice......

I am going to take the trailer over to get a few small things done... I will replace the kitchen faucet with a gooseneck one, and while i am at the lot i will also use the Santi-flush to clean out black water tank... they have a dump on site... I tryed doing that before i left the campgrounds but just got all wet... seems me and hoses just dont get along...LOL

At the campsite last week i woke up to being dizzy and nausious.. was this CO poisening? I found out there was NO battery in the CO dector!! Hmmm they will hear a tonguue lashing from me,,, I did notice the knob on the stove was slightly turned but dont know if that had anything to do with it or not...?? Now i am alittle paranoid about this whole event.. i will have them check for leaks... going up to the bunk on the fifth wheel the first step is about 12 inches high, and it started bothering me going up and down.. there is a vent there for the furnace... any how.... i got a step stool to put in front of it... but its moved about 3 inches from the step.... I was told it would be fine but then again i am wondering?? I sure as heck dont want my 5th wheel to be my coffin!!! Didnt seem to bother the dog any tho.. guess it was good i woke up!!
I managed to get myself home, but ended up most of the time just resting....after i got the food out of the friggie...
I am going to order a cover for the trailer this yr... I think i will keep it over at the lot ( they offered for me to be able to do that, if i got the trailer) this winter.... Besides Halloween coming i dont trust alot of the kids these days... dont want it graffitti'd....

Have been doing some clay projects ... we are doing an exchange( christmas ornaments) on the Boston Terrier boards . I have found myself enjoying molding and painting my little B.T.. sorrta goofie looking but cute...LOL

Good morning all. The sun is blazingly bright on the lake here today. My window is open to the view which is totally unblocked now that there are no campers between me and the lake. Soon I will move to another site for the rest of my stay and will be much closer to the water. I am ashamed to say I have only kayaked once since I got here. Today promises to be a gorgeous day so perhaps I will get out there for a while. I think that Gus would enjoy a ride.

The weather here is supposed to cool off and turn rainy tonight. Sunday and Monday night both I have worked only 5 hour shifts taking advantage of VTO while I can enjoy the weather. Some folks here really need the money so wouldn't dare take time off. While I am not independently wealthy, my mental health says take it easy and play in the sunshine while you can. At least I do have a small retirement income to rely on and as long as I'm working even part time my lot fee is paid so I will treasure the sunshine, bright, clean lake paddles, and walks in the woods. Yesterday I saw a hawk sailing over the woods - much nicer sight than all the buzzards that circle near the fish cleaning stations and have become a nuisance here. Last night I walked Gus around midnight and got a glimpse of the northern lights running red across the sky. These things are worth more than paychecks to me.

Liz I am so sorry to hear about Roe's troubles. I hope you can get him the care and medication he needs. I know what it is like to love an aging critter who lives in your heart. Each day with Gus is a gift and his aging hips and failing eyesight sadden me so. I have casually remarked that losing Gus will be like losing my DH all over again. The 2 were inseparable when he was dying and Gus almost died of grief afterwards. But it's no joke as Gus is that last part of what we had together and at 13 I know Gus' time is limited.

Enough of that. The sun is shining and Gus and I need to get out there in it. Let's all have a great sunny day!

Liz, please do get another opinion. I hate that Roe is hurting like this. Will be waiting anxiously to hear what happens. And good luck with your own audiology appt.

I was hoping to kayak when I got to KY - but the weather isn't looking too promising for that. Last year I know I was out the first week of November. Hopefully the cold air coming in will pass through and there will be another week or two of warmer weather. But I'm going there for work, but that sure would be a nice respite. Looking forward to meeting you, Vickie. And you explained so well why it's important for me to stay at the state park rather than the rv parks down there. I can work, work, work - but when off work, I enjoy the beauty and it brings me peace. And Peaches sure likes the walks there.

I'm sitting at a Ford dealers while they check out all systems, give me an oil change, etc. After the 7 months sitting I had a new vibration driving here, so have them checking that out, also.. Last time I had a similar vibration was just before my blowout. Do not want that to happen again.

Meantime, I jumped out of the rv with just my purse and Peaches. No book to read, no computer, etc . Don't want to go interrupt them and was pleasantly surprised to find they have 2 computers and wifi for our use while waiting. Then I discovered I'm not wearing my progressivie lenses, so keep moving my glasses up and down my nose. Hahaha - yep isn't aging fun! Peaches just lays at my feet but a few minutes ago jumped up. Turns out someone came by behind me with a McDonald's bag. Guess she thought something in it was for her. She's never been to McDonald's but she liked the smell of his breakfast. One of the workers here gave her a doggie treat. She had to think about it, but decided if that was all she was getting, she best accept it graciously. Now she's back sleeping at my feet.

Here's hoping they can get me out of here early. I'd like to relax a bit after I get back - and I definitely want to take my time this afternoon in the sun hooking up the car. It's been 7 months - I don't trust myself. Easy as it is, I want to be sure I get it right. And tomorrow it's supposed to be raining. So hoping to get everything ready this afternoon, relax tonight, and only have electric to unplug (and probably cable) in the morning. Who knows when I'll have all these tv stations again. I need to numb my brain another night
