Packing It In

Temps are dropping in the evenings and I had a difficult choice to make: want to take another quick trip, bit with predicted frost and freezing, I thought it best not to chance the possible freeze of camper pipes so reluctantly winterized the camper today. boo hoo House bound again. March GTG five long months away.

thanks Sharon. Mom loved the GTG and is looking forward to the TX one in March. The camper turned out to be a great purchase for the two of us.

Sorry you have to pack it in already. I'm trying to get ready for the GTG in Texas next month. That will probably be my last for the year.

Was so nice to meet you and your mother in Arkansas. I'm glad your trailer worked out for you both.

If it's any consolation, I too have winterized and stored my TT till next spring. Would have loved another trip, but mom nature said no. Long winter ahead here, but I have my scrapbook worth of memories to add to and that will keep me busy.

So glad you joined us in AR. Too bad about winter, but you can have fun planning future trips, to TX and beyond!

Now you can look forward to the time you take her back out. And I look forward to meeting you and your Mom in TX.

Hi Tamara,

Sorry to hear it is time to winterize the RV, but the March GTG will be here before you know it. Stay warm.

It was great meeting you and your mother at the Arkansas GTG. Looking forward to seeing the both of you at the March GTG.

Feel better and better about this "RV Thing". When I first brought the camper home I felt overwhelmed and, frankly, sorry for myself. I was having to do all the man stuff AND the woman stuff! But I pulled myself together and conquered each mechanical issue one at a time.

I hated having to put the camper in storage but really enjoyed getting out the tools and winterizing -- feeling powerful and confident. Hey, if you ladies can manage rigs 10 times bigger than mine, cook meals for a dozen ladies . . . No problem.

I enjoyed talking to you at the AR GTG. I also enjoyed looking at your website and your Art. I think we have other Artist's among us, you should know about each other. Maybe an Artist's GTG could be arranged.. I built a garage that is insulated, never goes below 52 so I can head south during the winter. It was an expense but well worth it, not only for the RV but for other storage and ability to exercise, do woodwork, etc My thought was someday when RV days are over I might make a small apartment for a caregiver (for me, that's a horrible thought) or just rent out.

I also feel your pain. I purchased a raindrop this year and had alot to learn. It is my first foray into RV'ing I also travel with my Mom. Our last gathering was the last weekend in September. It probably was our last trip until next spring. The camper is in storage. I haven't 'winterized' yet since the temperatures here in Oregon are not that low but will probably do so in December as a precaution.

Hopefully, the spring will be here before we know it.
Hanging out in Oregon.
