Rain, Rain, Go Away

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Rain, Rain, Go Away

A rainy good mornng from the 45th,

Another windy and rainy day here today. Temp is about 40, so a bit chilly too. Good day to be in looking out. For those of you who are new to this site or those of you who are wondering what the 45th is, I'm referring to the 45th parallel, the halfway point between the North and South poles. I live just a few miles south of this point.

Not a lot going on around here today. No outside work of course and not in much of a mood to do inside work either, but will probably install some inside shrink film storm windows in my mudroom while I am in the mood to do it. No big projects today as I am going to a funeral this afternoon.

Not much for breakfast around here this morning. Just some milk, a Special K breakfast bar and some corn muffins from last nights supper. Really exciting and nutritious breakfast as you can see  One thing about the fall weather, it starts us making more yummy stuff like chili, soup, stews, roasts etc. Gosh, I'm making myself hungry here

Soos is getting ready to move herself back up to Mandy and Joe's, so she can spoil Orion for awhile before she head south to her winter home. Safe driving today Soos. Others are making plans to head south, to join GTG's later on, or to hit the road and full time it. And there are those of us who are getting ready to hunker down for the winter ahead and enjoy reading about the travels and adventures of those on the move.

So whatever your plans are for today, I hope you have a wonderful day all.

Good Morning to All - We are in Shamrock, TX - just a few miles from Oklahoma. Had a 300 mile day yesterday - said we weren't going that many miles - oh well. Drove in and right out of a couple campgrounds in Oklahoma - no one around and unkempt. One was the KOA in ElkCity/Clinton area - remembered after that we did the same thing there last year.
The alfa is running great and has so much room after two years in Jennie.

Might stay here today or head to Tucumcari, NM - what ever we do we are going to settle down for the weekend someplace so I can watch the races.
Looks like the weather will be warming up too - That will be nice

GOOD MORNING SUE,KATH, CAROL, AND ALL!

I usually don't like to celebrate deaths, but I am making an exception to Gaddafi-----YAY THAT GADDAFI IS DEAD!!! He was an unusually cruel man who killed and tortured thousands of Libyans for years and if anyone ever deserved to die, I believe it was him.

On a cheerier note, it's a warm 55 here today, the deer made their daily morning visit to the old apple tree, the truck is packed for my trip back to Mandy's for a couple of weeks, and all I have left to do is take me nice deep, hot bath. Molly knows something is up and she won't leave my ankles as I have been packing. I just hope I can find room enough in the trailer to still have it be comfortable for my trip south. (Not anything like my last year's packing with my canoe and bicycle in there!)

Wow, Carol----you sure do have a huge, spacious rig for traveling this year! Alfa is something else! thanks for that great picture to help us travel along with you!

Kath is visiting her family and watching a new home get put together----great fun to be a part of that! And Sue is settling in for another long, cold winter here in the north. I was discussing with her yesterday that I really do miss my nice white snow and my journeys through my woodland trails on my cross-country skis. It's the long very dark nights and frigidly cold days with not much sun even in the clearest of days, nad the being so isolated and alone here that I do not miss at all. Perhpas I can make the drive back here for Christmas and get in some skiing....we shall see.

Coffee tastes good, so stop in and have a cup while you type a few notes about your day. Time to get moving now....later. I hear little Orion calling me!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good morning from McIntosh, FL! I am enjoying the sunrises out my window. The cold front finally came through and broke the humidity, so today promises to be a beautiful, crisp 70 degrees.

Today I will drive into Ocala for another dr. appt....ear dr.

This Satrurday is the annual McIntosh "1890 Days" when thousands will descend upon this sleepy village for the fall festival. I will be helping out with face painting and greeting at the church most of the day. At least this year I will not have to worry about a place to park!

Glad your trip is going smoothly, Carol. Do you feel the extra weight of all of us hanging on?

Enjoy your time with family, Soos and Kathleen. Then get yourselves down here to warm, sunny Florida.

Sue, I always gained weight in the winter because I made all those warm comfort foods when I was cold. Now I don't know what my excuse is anymore.

Wishing everyone a good day, whatever you are doing.

PLEASE, PLEASE send the rain to Texas. Has finally cooled off here - was 45 this AM but we're still way too dry.

We could use some of that rain. I see that my DH has his sprinklers going in the lots around the barn. This is rye grass time so now he will be obsessing over his grass.

The weather just turned cold and we have already had soup, gumbo and chili. My friend dropped of a big container of her soup that my DH likes. It has a lot of tomatoes in it and I can't eat much tomato. When I get my motorhome back I want to experiment cooking in the convection oven. Liz made us some treats in her oven at the GTG and they were a big hit.

Carol, your rig looks so cozy. That's what I would like to have, 40' on the inside and 23' on the outside. lol

Big cold front went thru here Tuesday night leaving us with a taste of very cool windy weather. The sun is finally coming back this afternoon and by tomorrow we should be warm again with a spectacular weekend forecast.
Liz, thanks for sharing your sunrise with us.

I found a couple of photos to add to Herschel's post of Huntsville gtg. He does such a good job didn't really need to add anything.

Spending my 64th birthday in KY trying to stay warm. The rain and gusty wind has kept me inside except for Maggie's walks. One thing I have noticed in my travels thus far is the number of children at cgs that are not attending school. I suppose it could be possible that their parents have allowed them to skip a day or so to vacation in a cg or, which really concerns me, is it because these families are now living in their campers and the children are not attending school at all or only sporadically? Is this indicative of our economic times?

I will be making my way to Campbellsville KY to begin my workamping at Amazon with Beth. I must say though that Florida's much warmer temps would be welcome right now. Predictions are for frost on Saturday morning. Brrrrrr!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOAN!!!

It's chilly & windy in MD, too. At least the sun is shining, but the winds are really strong.

Joan, I have no idea what's going on with the kids you're seeing at the campground. Could it be possible the parents are home schooling their children?

Irmi, thank you for the birthday wishes. Yes, you are correct. They could be home schooled. I should have considered that too.

Joan - Happy Birthday. Hope you can get to some place a little warmer! I'm in CA and I just got some pix of my twin grandbabies (20 Mo.) running around playing outside half naked in the very warm weather. Very cute. They live just So. of San Francisco and are having Indian summer I guess.
