Good morning Ava!

I've been up but kept on task researching and enrolling in a new medicare part D plan. The one i'd been in for the past two years has just eliminated one of my drugs,...sooooooo i'm going with AARP's along with my AARP medigap ins. that has worked so well for me.

Sun is shining here,... it's a wonderful day in the neighborhood!

Yes, looks like everyone is sleeping in or off to church early.....Well, I'm sure everyone will be checking in soon.....
Am taking the morning slow and enjoying the coffee.....a little cool here during the night, but the sunshine promises to warm us up some.....

We took a drive to see the Gulf yesterday and then chilled here watching college football, etc....

Okay, need more coffee then it's off to get ready for the day....

Good Good Morning - and what a beautiful day it is here in Oklahoma City. Supposed to get up into the 60s - warmest we've seen it in awhile. IF, and that is a big IF, I can keep the internet connection will try to catch up on our trip so far. Although I have managed to update my blog using up minutes by the hours on the cell phone. Stayed in St Louis a couple of days, just spent the night in Stafford, MO - and will be here in OC until tomorrow morning. Going to be running around town sight seeing today. Our only time table is to be in Vegas in time to eat Thanksgiving dinner with our youngest son and his family. Everyone take care - have missed reading the morning hellos.
There are a couple of really nice horse trailers here in this park - real big, with slides, king dome, and big living quarters. Never seen any like them before.

Good Morning !
It seems to be quite windy here in Oregon, but the sky is blue and I think it'll be another nice, but windy, day
I don't really have anything on the agenda today - I'm sure Molly and I will go for a walk on the beach but that's the only certainy.
I'm in a sort of sad mood today - I really just want to go home, where ever that is. I know I have my house with me, but I want to find someplace where my heart will be happy. The ocean makes me happy, and some of the towns I've been in are nice, but they aren't home. I know it's not the locations it's me - not sure how to fix that.
The sun is going to shine today - I'm healthy - I have an awesome little dog and crazed cat - food to eat - and the time to take a nap so I need to quit complaining and live today Maybe I need some ruby slippers so I can click my heels and say "there's no place like home" - wonder where I'll end up if I do that ??

Good Morning. It's windy in South Dakota too. Sipping my English Toffee coffee. I slept in this morning and don't have any special plans for the day except to spray for spiders in the basement. I'm being overrun by them. Just wiped down the walls in the family room last weekend and there a webs again. I usually get the foundation of the house sprayed earlier in the Fall but it seemed that every weekend it was either raining or windy. Why is it that we're always at work on the nice days? Have a good one...

Good Mid Morning, the wind is still blowing here. I don't mind rain, fog or snow but wind really gets on my nerves. Trudy, I have a stick house and I have spent the last week thinking, is this all there is. I think everyone gets in a blue funk every now and then, I know I do. I just have to wait it out and it usually gets better. I don't need anything or have extra money but think I will walk around the outlets and people watch. I am going to buy an eclair too. hummm maybe that is my problem, buying an eclair is as wicked as I get.

Good Morning Everybody! I, too, have been up for hours, but have been chatting with friends I have on the west coast near all those horrendous fires. So far, they are all ok, but if the wind keeps up, they might have to evacuate.

I've also been outside, covering up woodpiles after bringing in more firewood. I can't believe the sun is shining in the valley on the other side of the mountains where Cedar lives!!!! Holy cow....it's been windy, raining, and now snowing hard up here in the mountains! Temperature has fallen from about 47 when I got up at dawn to about 33 now.

I have had coffee, thanks to Ava, and have just made me a super chunky peanut butter sandwich for breakfast!

Molly's mom....I know exactly how you feel. For a couple of years, when I was way younger, I took a couple of years off from teaching, moved out of my rented home, and moved into my VW Bus. I went all over the country, seeing it before it got really touristy----early 60s----and could even pull off AIA in FL and camp in the dunes! No condos at all back then. Got all the way to OR coast and back again, and, by then, was really longing for a 'HOME BASE'

Even after I retire, I can't imagine selling my home and being completely free. There is something in me that needs a 'home' base in a specific location. Not that I will regret getting free from here in the dead of winter and heading for somewhere warm and sunny! But, yes.....I totally understand your feeling about a yearning to go home. Being thankful for what you have, and for your critters that travel with you, and for your health, and for your 'home-on-wheels' is very important. But, not sure if it will cure that inner, nagging thing about a stable home base.

Am curious if others feel that tug when they take to the road?

When I first went on the road, I sometimes felt like I "should" have a home base. And it made me go into a funk occasionally that I didn't. Then I realized that my home base is where ever I want it to be. And that a house or an rv doesn't make a home base - but the people do. I spent years and years in one city - but if I went back there now - even to my favorite house - it wouldn't be home to me. I no longer am part of anything there - have very few friends still there - so that house would no longer be "home".

That said, I've discovered that I love workamping because I quickly become a part of where I am. And unlike some others, I like the longer terms at bigger parks - where I really have made some great friends and relationships. So much so that I'm staying here a year and yes, it will be very hard to pull up when April comes. But going on my mini trips from here (like the women's gtg that just happened) keep me knowing just what I really want to do - and I will spend all winter planning my Alaska trip - and just maybe I'll come back here for the winter season next year. Just maybe

Trudy - allow yourself the feelings. Kind of like when I've occasionally gone through a funk that I'm travelling alone - no one to share, etc. That, too, passes - and in the long run, I think I'm better off doing much of this alone. Would take someone awfully special to allow me to do it with someone.

Now, wind is much less today, which makes it feel much warmer - upper 50's now - sunny - going to go to the cafe for soup for lunch. Working on my websites the rest of the afternoon.
