Foggy Tuesday

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

Foggy Tuesday

Postby Carolinagal » Tue Oct 18, 2011 7:11 am

Good morning !!! Much to my dismay, I am back home. What a mess here, the repairs are about half done, or I hope half. Huge bag of mail to sort through. A list of things on the "To do" list already. I will have several hard weeks of throwing , selling, giving etc. before Thanksgiving, when my daughter and family will be here to pick up their furniture, I have been using. I'm tired just thinking about it, but would so love to leave here first of Dec. at least and head south for awhile. Jan. are all those Dr. apps. etc., but Dec. should be totally free for a nice rest and to get away, and to have Christmas with my youngest grands.

I love, love, love my new home and have mentally selected what and where to put my things :) Forgot how much stuff I have in here, not fun walking back in and finding the pile of magazines, I have never seemed to get through. You all know how it is.

I had a lovely time at the Ark. GTG, and of course, had to stop by and visit with Sarah and Tina was there, so what a lovely visit I had there. Can't come east without stopping off in Alabama !!!!!

Must get at it, times flying, but if this gets in first, will be best way to let all know my new home and i, made it home safely and what a joy it is to drive.

Take care and safe travels, for those on the road, and those who are dealing with other issues, hopefully they will pass soon.
CArol :)

GOODMORNING CAROL AND ALL!

How nice to have you begin the day for us, Carol! I am glad to know you made it home safely, and how much you love your beautiful new rig! Are you selling your house. or why is it you are throwing stuff away and having your furniture picked up? I sure do wish you could get your doc appointments changed to December and make Jaunary your time to get away to FL so you could join us at Wekiwa for our GTG! We have ten people now with reservations there----see the GTG thread for info.

Another cold, dark and grey day here, with temperature right around 40. Forecast is for heavy-duty rain tomorrow and throughout the rest of the week. I sure do hope this east coast can catch a break from this nasty weather so I can plan my trip back to FL. Wood fire resurrected this morning to keep me and Molly warm today.

Coffee is hot, so stop in and let us know what's up wherever you might be. Stay safe on the roads, and have a wonderful time!
Life is about learning to dance in the rain
Happy travels!

Good Morning to All - We are still in MIssouri - just east of Kansas City -
Rained hard and most of day yesterday here so glad we weren't on the road. Right now it is sprinkling but is supposed to stop. If we get going again we're just going as far a Wichita. And pretty cold here - but after going shopping yesterday and buying an electric blanket we didn't mind it last night. Nice and cozy. We'll probably be in cold weather until we hit Vegas - got all those mountains to go over.

Good Morning ladies.

I have really missed the forum lately and it is good to be back, even if just briefly this morning. Will take me a while to backtrack to catch up.

Thanks to Tina (birdbybird) and Carol (Carolinagal) I have been getting a much needed break from dealing with the loss of my sister and trying to figure out if there is anyway to deal with the affairs that must be settled at some point.
It has been a low key, unplanned gtg of mainly visiting, watching the dogs play, and of course eating. Cameras have not been out much but I promise to see if I got a few shots to post - especially of Carol's magnificent new home on wheels. Hopefully Tina has done a better job with photos. Watch the GTG thread later today or this evening for at least a couple of pictures.

Wishing all a great day.

Good morning travel pals. So good to hear from you Sarah; aren't friends the best? Wow, Carol, I'm reading between the lines here; sounds like big changes for you! Keep us posted!!! Oh Soos and Carol, sorry yours is a cold and rainy morning, but I have to tell you it's perfect Indian Summer here. My favorite time in the mountains. Trees aren't turning yet here, but are at higher elevations. Today I'm taking my Dad and Step Mom for a drive up the hill to see a remote lake my Dad recently expressed an interest in visiting. He never asks for something like this so I am very happy to oblige. It will be a fun outing and we will see fall color up there!

My van is lubed, serviced, washed and waxed, waiting to be packed, all ready to hit the road soon for my trip back to Texas. Last year I had a terrible pinched nerve in my neck for the trip, so not much fun. Looking forward to a fun trip and seeing my girls in Austin.

Have a fun day out there!

Cold and very very windy here in Greenville. The weather has been perfect so far, but a storm blew in last nite with lightening, thunder and rain. Chewy and Sam spent the evening in my lap. No one likes the boom-booms. No growling or hissing at each other for a change, guess they were both grateful to be on Mom's lap and safe. Supposed to warm up a bit again tomorrow, thank goodness. As you know, I'm not a big fan of cold weather.

Cousin and I went to Jefferson yesterday...what a fun outing and so much history there. Pictures and trip report to follow later. May have found a place for the AR GTG for next year, but we may have to change it to a TX GTG. More research needed, especially on the skeeter population for that time of year. A lot of our members are going to Alaska next year so need to find out when they'll be back or how many would be interested. Lots of planning....Oh Vickie and Mitch....

Not a lot planned today, cousin has Dr. appt down in Denton, I think, and since I had two furry bodies slammed up against me all night, I slept in late and moving slow today. Need to get to the PO to mail stuff for the GD's and dump. A few phone calls and that's about it other than try and stay warm. I also need to see if Jeep has a tech support number and see if I can find out why the battery has to be disconnected on the new car when I tow. If so, how is my auxillary brake gonna work? It hooks into the cig lighter to power the air compressor on it. Lots of research before I hook her up and take off! It sure is different than the jeep I have.

Hope everyone has a loverly day and those traveling, travel safe... way to windy for me to be on the road!

Good morning all, it's raining here today and chilly. Haven't turned on the heat yet but that will probably happen this week as it is supposed to get down to 30 one night. Our house is all painted and we like the color, whew it is always so hard to pick a color that turns out how you hoped! Now we are waiting for our new front door. We have two but it's the outside one we are replacing with one that is all glass so the dogs can see out, they so love to bark at people, squirrels and robins!
So good to see Sarah post we've missed you, glad you had company to distract you. Carol hope your house is market ready soon and you can be back on the road in your beautiful new home! Safe journeys to the rest who are on the road or about to start out.

I just got back from picking my motorhome up at one shop and dropping it off at another to get the generator serviced. Should be ready for the GTG in Brenham next month. The cold front came through here this afternoon. It was 90 before lunch and it's 60 now. We got just a little rain and it's really windy. I'm not looking forward to cold weather.

Carol, sorry you got home to a mess. I'm sure you would like to still be on a trip with your new rig. I wasn't ready to come home either.
