The new adventure...

Postby flick4411 » Fri Oct 14, 2011 9:19 pm

Well, the job I wanted in California has come through. so I'll be putting off retirement for a couple of years. This time last year,I would have laughed at anyone suggesting I'd be heading to Cali in January, but I'm not laughing now. I'm dancing wth happiness. That combined with the new tenant I have in the house I couldn't sell has made this a very good week. So instead of going the northern route to the Left Coast, I'll be traveling the southern route to Cali and coming in through the desert. There are no real details yet on departures, but I do know I'll get a paid move so I don't have to pack and ship my household goods. And I'm heading out there the first week in November for a biz trip so I'm going to try to hook up with a realtor. Rents in LA are AWFUL; but there are a good number of reasonably priced condos. It may be worth my while to buy for a couple of years. The market HAS to improve doesn't it? We'll see...

As details emerge, I'll share here. I hope you are all doing well. Work has been intense lately, and my stress level was extremely high while waiting to find out if I was moving or if I was retiring. Now that the deicision is made, I might actually sleep through the night!

Take care ladies!

It's wonderful to have choices, isn't it? Congrats and good luck on your move to Cali and the new job.

And if you don't like it -- heck, you can retire! No down side here.

WOW! From VA to CA! And somebody to move you, to boot! What more could one hope for?

Decision-making is always stressful, at the very least, and now that one has been made, you should have a great fall and enjoy your situation! Sort of like an early Christmas present to yourself! CONGRATS!!!

Congrats, Li. You're off on a new adventure and that seems to be what you love to do. Now maybe we can stop hearing all that whining from Sharon about nobody ever coming to her side of the states  carold
