It's Saturday now

Gooooood Morning Sistahs!!

Yep it's Saturday, the first day of the weekend. ?? It is? Hmmmm, I have to work this weekend so I don't really get a weekend this time around. Now tomorrow I get to sleep in a little later cause we don't have to be into work until noon. Which all in all is kinda nice? But that of course means that we have to work until 9pm. YUCK! Horrible when ya have to get back up and go back in at 8 the next morning. I must have been really horrible in my previous life!!! HA

I've been looking at Craig's List every few days, WOW are people ever getting rid of their RV's. Can't remember now how many were 5'ers but there were a bunch of them. There were everything from pop-ups to pushers on there last night from the past few days. Sheesh!!! Even tho gas has went way down I think the prices this last time put the hurt to a lot of them and scared them badly. Gas here has finally went to $1.95, I thought Kelly was gonna have heart failure when she saw the price. Was nice tho! We got $20 and with the 1/8 tank I had it gave us a little over 3/4's of a tank. It does help too that I'm getting better fuel mileage since David fixed the fuel pump. :D

Well the coffee is done and tasting really good this morning and I've got some pecan swirls sitting here. Come on get up out of them beds and pull up a chair!!!

Hope everyone has a great day and stays safe.

Love to all

Echo..that job is going to kill ya. Everyone else must be sleeping in this morning. I had to get up and take the garbage cans out to the curb early..the wind was blowing so hard last night that I was afraid if I set it out before I went to bed that it would be all over the neighborhood this morning. Plans were to go back to bed, but by the time I had hit the 28 temp wearing just a robe and slippers and waited for Radar to decide to come in the house...I was pretty much wide awake! So I decided I might as well start the day and fired up the coffeemaker. Right now I am in the process of cooking a chicken and have dough in the breadmaker. The neighbors wife passed away and the family starting arriving yesterday. Last night another neighbor and I decided rather than the old casserole routine that she would make cream of broccoli soup and I would make chicken salad and buns to take over to the house. It's pretty much a small town tradition that people take food to a family after there has been a death. When I'm pinched for time I often take a can of coffee and a couple of 12 packs of soda or a sack full of disposable coffee cups and plates, kleenex and I know this sounds stupid..but toilet paper! Found that when my mother-in-law died that with all the extra family members staying and friends that were coming to the house to visit that we were constantly running low. Not a lot of other plans for the days... going to the bank and grocery store and the mandatory cleaning routine....dust bunnies are invading the house! So I guess I'll have to kill the dirty little devils. Have a great day.
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Good Morning Echo! Thanks for getting the coffee going,...

I'm here sipping on my wonderful cup of Amaretto flavored coffee,... not moving too quickly this a.m. as i was out last night until nearly 11 p.m. Pal Kathy and i went to a bluegrass concert a few miles north of here. Great band called Beartracks. A brother, sister and cousin. http://www.beartracksband.com/ A nice crowd and a really fun evening.

Todays chores will be putting the tarp on camper, unloading camper stuff into cellar, and laundry/housework. ech,.. would rather be heading out,.. could almost hear my little chalet whimpering as I folded her roof and sidewalls down yesterday afternoon. awwwwww.....

so off i go to get busy!

good morning, good morning
there is nothing going on in my life right now thats worth talking about, and I certainly
don't want to be boring, but I'm kinda like you Echo, I get up go to work and come home
and then do the same thing all over again the next day. I feel like I have brain fog, can't
think clearly these days, and I'm feeling overwhelmed with what got paid and what needs
to be paid. I've never ever been like that so I fear its an aging thing, I don't know, I'd
like to feel I was still "sharp as a tack". I need to eat better perhaps, get some brain
food in me. Is there such a thing  oh yea, think I remember something about 7
basic food groups and a balanced diet  or has it been changed to 4 basic food groups? Think I'll do some research, thats my code word for surfing the internet
Got an ad in the mail the other day from a bank wanting my business. Its a major
bank, big one, but they sent me a check for $100 and if I open an account with another
100, there will be 200 and I can set up all my bills that are the same each month and
have them pay automatically. If I do that, it would take a load off my mind trying to
keep track of the budget and just deposit set amount of money each payday in that
account. I'm going to think on that, I have until the 30th to decide if I'm going to do
that, then the offer expires.
For today, routine crap, laundry, grocery store and pay the bills. If I get energetic, I
really need to wash the car, its really spotty and dirty.
Ok, the fresh coffee is brewed and smells mighty good but I need to make myself
some toast.
Have a great day whatever you do and everyone be safe.

Good Saturday Morning, sorry for those that are headed for work. I did Wed and Thursday days off for many years, so know what's it's like to work on week-ends! But THIS Saturday I am headed out to do a 5K Run/Walk for diabetes research. It's just a couple minutes away so easy to participate. I shy away from big runs unless I have company to help with logistics of parking, etc. It's also very windy here. The 47* feels much colder. I need long running pants, but left them in CA. That probably means shopping soon! Have a fun day....

I'm on my third cuppa tea and my third caramel. One for each cup. It's the only way I can kickstart my day. I'll have second breakfast (ala the Hobbits) in an hour or two. I've done this all my life.
Is it windy EVERYWHERE? I know Jenny in Yuma said it was blowing and now and dpf (is that Pat?) said it was windy in South Dakota. I'm packing up today and leaving first thing in the morning. I don't care if the wind is still blowing, I'll make it out somehow. I hope I never have to see this area again!
The good thing, Echo, about being in a job that you don't care for, is that you keep your eyes and ears open for other opportunities. I'm glad you're looking at RV's. Keep the dream alive. I love looking at them, but I'm almost scared to in case I see something I love. I call this rig, "It'll do." because its perfectly adequate, I'm just not in love with it. I'm glad its not a man.

Good morning all. Its coolish here this morning and was really windy last night. Felt like the rig was going to tip over.

Know what you mean about remembering what and when to pay bills. When I went fulltime I set up any bill that was the same every month (Verizon, storage unit, insurance, etc) with the individual company to pay it each month automatically from my checking account. When I get my check on the 1st, I deduct all those auto payments even tho they may not pay until later in the month. I was paying other bills that varied each month thru my bank's bill pay system even tho they charged me a monthly fee. I have found that some companies like credit cards, let you pay online each month. I've gone paperless so I don't get paper statements. When you pay online, whoever you use, give you a confirmation number and I put this number in my check book so I have a "receipt". I haven't written a check in ages.

Morning All,

Drinking hot chocolate here - and I rocked and rolled all night in the wind, so Sparkle, it seems to be in lots of areas. Supposed to lessen some later today - but the wind makes it feel cold, so I rushed Peaches on her morning walk - which only means we'll need to take another one sooner than normal. Hopefully the sun will make it not feel as cold - and the wind will lessen more.

I don't care if I work weekends or not - during the summer here I asked to work them, as it gets so busy around on weekends that I wanted my days off during the week. Now, I have weekends off cuz they gave them to me for this season - as people with more seniority wanted to work the weekends for the winter. It works for me as I'm doing more going out on weekend nights with the other singles now that things have calmed down from the summer crowds.

Pat, it's nice to know that many small communities still band together to help with funerals, etc. Too often today people don't even know who their neighbors are, let alone if one of them has had a birth or death in the family. And I think the toilet paper is a great thing to give - they might look at you strange, but then when they need it - I'm sure they really are glad to have gotten it.

LOLOL Sparkle - the "it'll do" men are ok, just not ones you'd want to marry :) Nuff said.

Have a great day, all.

Good Morning-almost afternoon!

I have been up for hours, actually, but trying to get yard stuff done before skies opened up, as they have now. Rain coming down in sheets here....just normal rain earlier! It's 48 F. out there.....weirdly warm for November!

Then watched news about the fires in CA....so scary out there, with those Santa Anna winds at hurricane force levels. Must be the winds are spreading across the entire country, from what I read from you all. No wind here at all yet today...dead calm, but very wet! Sparkle, be careful traveling, and you should be ok. Where are you headed now??

Going to make me a cheese/red pepper egg beater omelet to go with my Hazlenut coffee! Have already done one load of laundry, and now will build me a woodfire so I can turn down my kerosene Monitor stove.

Molly doen't care to go for a walk, so I guess I will try out my Frogg Togg rainsuit later by myself! It's a perfect day to test its waterproofness!

Have a great day, you all......

Happy travels!

Oh Sparkle, your "It'll do" comment really got me laughing out loud,... especially when you added you were glad it wasn't a man.
After several years of thinking i wanted to trade my little chalet I'm now in the middle of a love affair with it! Not even considering trading it right now. So,... I, too am glad it isn't a man as being "in love" (not to be confused with loving which is great) clouds my vision. haha....
