We haven't stopped at a Walmart yet so I guess it must not have gotten so cool that she needs any sox and shoes. For now that sandals are working. Southern Indiana looks pretty this time of year.
Remi and I got to go out in the big kayak. Remi said he felt so much braver because I was with him. I think he is finally figuring out that the lady is not going to randomly throw him in the lake.
There were neat things to see out on the water. And apparently there are numerous creeks that drain into the lake so that the water carries a lot of silt. The lake only allows electric motors and .....well paddles.
Parts sections were fairly shallow probably because of the run off from the creeks over time. We did see some big fish jumping after something not too far from the kayak. So I guess the fish like this place, too.
We paddled under the small bridge so that we could check out the small creek.
ANd then coming back out I could look out onto a bigger part of the lake.
Nice wild flowers along the bank.
And here was a very busy squirrel along the waterfront. I told Remi that Stuart would have been over the side if he had been floating along with us. You know how his brain shorts out at the sight or even the thought of a squirrel!
Walking in the park I found this Bluebird box. There were several to be found attached to the back of some of the camp ground signs. Sure made good use of an already existing post.
Here is a picture of a nice lady named Carol I got to meet outside of Nashville, IN. She and Bill (The Driver) live in a wonderful house filled with all sort of neat things from their trips and with a beautiful view of Indiana autumn leaves.....and a hungry herd of beautiful deer that come to feast on the corn that they put out below the screened in porch. And, no, I can not explain the look on the lady's face...but it was the better one of Carol....just saying, woof!
(Thanks Carol and Bill for allowing us to stop by and visit. Dinner was as wonderful as the great company and conversation. And let Bill know, we focus on Alaska this year and then will have to think seriously about heading south of the border in the future!
) Well here are Remi and Stuart listening attentively to what my plans are for today. I told Stuart it was probably his turn to ride along in the kayak. He is so excited but I bet the lady has to work extra to keep him in the kayak. And that the kayak will have more water in it from draining off his coat for the times that he does get to swim! Silly Stuart dog.
