OCTOBER 7 BIRTHDAY!

Let's start our day with a good morning here.

OCTOBER 7 BIRTHDAY!

GOOD MORNING ALL!

It's becoming more and more impossible for me to log on to both this group and the women rv group, so if this post goes through, I will appreciate it if someone would copy it and past it on the other group if I can't get on there. I always copy and save my posts to a document, but it does no good if I can't get on to post them anyway!

At noon today, Mandy will undergo a C-Section to get that baby out. After the exam yesterday, the doc went over the 3 options that exist now. 1. More waiting, which would allow the already large (near 9 pounds, they estimate) baby (mother is not young, and this is her first baby) to grow even more. 2. Inducing labor, which, as she is at zero phase of any labor at this point (discovered at the exam yesterday) could last days and be very exhausting, painful, and stressful for both the baby and the mother. If he is too big to get out after all that and should get stuck in the birth canal due to his large shoulders, they would need to do an emergency C-Section at that point. 3. A planned C-Section asap.

After careful weighing of the options, both she and Joe opted for the surgery today. Mandy, like me, would certainly have prefered a regular birth if possible, but she decided to be on the safe side for both her and the baby. We all had thought that she would have shown some effacing and even a hint of cervical dilation, but nothing! If that had been so, she would have opted for the inducing of stronger labor.

Sooooo....I need to get dressed and get ready to head for the hospital shortly after they take off at 9:30. My job will be to take care of the dogs while they are at the hospital, which could be until Monday. But I am taking my camera with me today!

I have an update for the FL GTG map, as Shirlv has also reserved herself a site, so now there are 6 of us. Please be patient as I try to log on and publish the new map in the GTG section. I will copy this post and attempt to post it over in the women's group now.

Wish Mandy and the baby a happy, safe birthing, and wish Joe and me some calmness! I will keep trying to stay logged on if and when I ever get on.

We are having a birth day!!

Happy travels!

Good Morning! I'm off for four glorious days! The painting is finally done so I can put the house back together. :D The weather here has been abnormally warm, extremely dry and very windy. Harvest is in full swing but is being hampered by numerous combine and field fires. DH came home yesterday around 5:30 pm which is extremely odd this time of the year. When I asked if the combine had broken down he said no, but the local fire department and those in the three neighboring communities were all out on fires and he decided to quit rather than take the chance of a fire and no fire department that could respond. Then about 6:30 we lost power. The fire department had just returned to town from a combine fire and needed to fill the tankers with water so DH went to the fire hall to help do that and set up generators so they could fill the trucks up with gas. I went out and sat in the 5er because it had lights.....then I discovered some cold beverages in the refrig and a book that I hadn't finished reading! Life was good! Power came back on around 11:00.

Soos...I think Mandy and Joe have made the right decision. I'm sure a caesarean isn't want they wanted or expected but it sounds like it is the safest option for both Mandy and baby when everything is taken into consideration. There is a bright side too! Mandy will probably be told not to do a lot of lifting and a 9# baby is lifting....you'll get to take advantage some extra cuddle time with him. Looking forward to pictures! Especially the one of a beaming Gramma Soos holding him!

Have a great day everyone!
My mind works like lightning...one brilliant flash and it's gone.

Woo hoo!!! I was awakend by water falling from the heavens....just a dribble really, but I take that as a promise for more to come. Will do some chores today, laundry, and a trip to the storage building. Then back to put some order to the mess in my rig. Coffee here is "Taste of San Antonio" which is quite good.

Soos, praying for your family in your time of joy, happiness, and worry. Pat, hope that you guys get the harvest in without any fires or other problems and am very glad that you have the 5er with appropriate supplies in case of an emergency  . Good thinking and be sure to keep it resupplied.

Those of you on the road, be safe and all the rest have lots of fun.

Soos, will be thinking of you today. This is a late checkin, hope all is going well with new mom and baby. 8cD

Yay - another small victory. The rain's let up, so I felt I could replace the vent.
Turned out the bottom was fine, just needed a new cover.
And, with the new diabetes diagnosis, I gotta start eating better, so I decided it's time to end the fridgeless life. Gulp.. expecting big expense to get the old fridge running. I didn't stay lit before....
Nope.... Once again V&V comes through - they cleaned out the back side, started it up, and it's running. Cooling down now.

Still worried that I've got old tires and no spare, but found a supplier. Ordered 3 of them.
When I die I'm gonna be cremated. I can't stand the idea of spending eternity in a box with no wheels.
