AR GTG 2011

I am sorry I missed an obviously fun day...I left a note under the outside outlet on Carolyn's RV. I headed out intending to go to Hot Springs for an A&C show but decided not to miss my little niece's birthday party on Saturday so here I am back at home 2 days early. Rudy was happy to get back to his sidekick, Lucy. I enjoyed my stay, tho short, but BJ beat me by a few hours, great bunch of ladies and I will see you another time. My daughter will be home in a few days, then I will leave again this time going to the Smokies, then on to SC to see my brother. After tonight the bail money might be called on as this is casino night. Sharon seemed to be especially eager for this Good luck to all

Nice park, Vickie and Mitch, you scored a home run again, altho Petit Jean is still my favorite. And it must be a good GTG, girls are already asking me where it's gonna be next year. I said, "ask Mitch and Vickie".

How were the parks you were scouting out?

I'm home safe to an unpainted house what is it with painters. It was a long trip for my first trip other than the one overnight and I enjoyed the GTG and meeting everyone but....I may change my name from Redetotry to Redetoquit! I'm sure after awhile it all won't seem so daunting so I'll probably try a few more times. I'll have to do at least one more when they finally do paint the house.
I stayed last night a the Wal Mart parking lot in Blytheville. Spent the $$ I saved on a terrific lamb chop dinner at the bar of the Olympian restaurant there. Felt like long long ago times hanging out at a bar and talking to everyone. People were so friendly I felt like a regular, some were locals but one guy was German said he traveled the world for American Greeting Cards! I either dreamed it or someone really did beat on my RV in the middle of the night, I got up and looked around, didn't see anything except the security truck down the way a bit so I went back to bed and slept well.

I met so many great people along the way and at at the GTG, campers really are terrific people.

BJ, I promise you it will get easier. With more practice it'll become so routine you'll do things automatically that you'll have to stop and think, wow did I really get everything set up already! What is it that is giving you problems?

From Blytheville, did you take 55 up thru Sikeston, Home of the Thrown Rolls? Love that place! My son lived in Blythville while based at Ekert AFB (now closed).

Didn't really find anything that would work for us....sorry. Either no water, or water was to far from the cg or sites weren't big enough. sigh. Maybe one place, but I think we can do better.

I'm going to try a few more times. I need to work on upper body strength it's hard for me to do the connections and of course the dumping thing.

From Blytheville, did you take 55 up thru Sikeston, Home of the Thrown Rolls? Love that place! My son lived in Blythville while based at Ekert AFB (now closed).

I took 57 N all the way to Marion, IL exit so I missed Sikeston. I ate there a couple of years ago and everything was so salty I couldn't eat it. Everyone does seem to like the rolls and the food maybe I just ordered wrong.

BJ, I'm glad you aren't giving up yet...you will get comfortable with it all in time. I use mine here at home. These small mh's are great for running errands. I get my groceries, put cold things in fridg and then stay out, walk at the park, visit friends,go to the movie, etc. I love to go to A&C shows in AR, sometimes I go just for a day and the RV gives me a bathroom, place to rest, eat, hang out until I'm ready to go home. The knock on your RV very well could have been real while in WM parking lot. Kids will be kids. I couldn't find a WM coming down to the GTG and I got such a late start I needed to stop so I pulled into a Holiday Inn Express, parked around back... another plus with the small motor home and who was the wiser? I was afraid to go ask, they might have run me off and I was just so tired

BJ, the connections don't need to be hard. Which ones are? They shouldn't require any upper body strength. But if you're having trouble getting the water hose tight - get yourself the robo grips and you'll never have trouble again - putting them on or off - and no strength required. They do the gripping. Carolyn (sunshinecruiser) turned me on to them, and I've been forever grateful. I used to have trouble getting rid of the "drip, drip drip". Never one since.

Glad ou're going to keep at it - and hope you discover the joys involved.

BJ....hang in there, you will find the balance of the experience
will slowly begin to tip to the more fun/less stress side. Nancy's
suggestion about day trips is right on; that's what I did (and still do!).

We haven't heard anything out of the ladies for a while. Somebody mentioned Casino Night, I sure hope they didn't lose their shirts and are now in the pokey for running around topless!!!

I was going to pull in at the Comfort Inn but decided to just do Walmart, I figured it was kids and it was a 24 hour store with security driving around.
I met someone in a rest stop near Hernando,MS that knew who you were, small world isn't it, they were from Collinsville, IL and had family in your home town. I don't think they knew you personally but knew of your store.
